Cherokee, NC.. there's a density there that even I couldn't handle at the time I was visiting (July 2023). It's affects the whole area until you get into Maggie Valley. So- I sense there's been more than just the Trail of Tears that transpired there in the distant past.

Winthrop University in Rock Hill is haunted. Also, there's fields that were once part of Revolutionary War encampments. And now with all the development, the ghosts show up in modern houses. One time i heard disembodied boots, and also saw a full body apparition of a friendly enslaved woman. Also- ALL of Charleston.

I grew up in CT and moved to Central NY for college 5 years ago. I went to college in Oneonta. I discovered my interest for trains, antiques, and historic places. Some of my favorite memories of college involve waking up at four in the morning to the freight train whistling down the hill. I remember the roundhouse chimney that was still standing despite the roundhouse being demolished in the mid 1990s. I would have loved to see the roundhouse in action. What i would give to walk around that town in the early 1900s.

Been to Bachelors grove. This guy isn't lying when he says that you see glowing lights in the woods. We went there at 3 in the morning and could not figure out what was going on around us.

I went to Southwest Detroit Hospital about two months ago around 9pm with just my friend. It was dark inside and we heard an unexplainable squeaky noise. We ran out quickly but later returned with some strangers we met across the street. There were about six of us in total after this. While inside, a stair broke as I was walking up. The whole time, I felt a strong feeling of unease and that something just wasn't right. we ended up making it to the top for a cool view of the city but i personally wouldn't go back.

With houses that look like that, anywhere, it might have been a KKK member house.

Upstate NY is a lot like NH. The real stories that haunt one are the stories the rural people pass on for generations. Usually involving the woodlands. Not an urban setting. Anyone who has ever dared gone camping alone knows. Just a few yards off a back road is a reality reminding experience. That nature in darkness is scary as a spider dangling in your face from a ceiling. At all times. Point is one has to stay on guard. Not because you have to expect the unexpected from people. But expect the unexpected from every living thing.

i went to carnton a couple years ago and i'm a bit sensitive.. on the house tour i felt okay until we got to the back right room. i was stood in front of the fireplace right below the bloodstain on the floor above. it wasn't particularly hot that day, but i felt like i was going to collapse and my vision went blurry. i got this stabbing pain in my gut, had to lean over and was having a hard time breathing. my mom led me into the front room and i started to feel better. as soon as i got out of the house i was totally fine. when i went to the slave houses both me and my brother had this unwelcoming feeling in the left one. i got this overwhelming feeling of sadness as i walked through, then had the feeling a male was standing over me wanting me to leave. i started to tear up and walked out. the cemetery is quite peaceful. the property itself is very somber but beautiful, especially the garden. you definitely aren't alone there. i would so love to back and spend more time on the grounds but i live in east tn. there's A LOT of haunted residential homes in east tn and the appalachia is a whole other beast.. as the saying goes "if you seen something, no you didn't. if you heard something, no you didn't."
