Listening to you talk about Haji tells me you haven’t watched 2 seconds of him playing with Coventry. He’s very comfortable out on the wing, loves running at people and finding space on the back post, and has looked completely out of his element every time I’ve seen him as a lone 9. He scored twice against Jamaica from the wing, then looked lost against Mexico.
Totally. He's built like a 9, but he is absolutely a winger.
To be fair Gregg just can't make any 9 look good.
Haji Wright made striker runs through the middle on his two goals vs. Jamaica.
@@dawidmalan8727Yeah, none of our strikers ever look good under Gregg. I think Haji would do fine at the 9. But with Dest out. I'd move Weah to RB and start Haji on the wing.
Haji is definitely is not nearly as effective as a single lone striker. He has to play off another striker. His success against Jamaica was because he was playing off of Pepi. Who was also drawing attention from the center backs.
Haji is best as a winger not a 9 so it makes sense to put him there. He has lit it up on the left wing all season at Coventry, Even when he came in against Jamaica he was basically playing as one.
I'd rather have Brooks Lennon or Marlon Fossey than Shaq Moore
Shaq Moore is basically a liability.
Brooks deserves that spot! He’s the only thing keeping ATL alive right now, he’s been so overlooked.
Who, who, who & who?
@@palatialslumlord4938 ATL United right wing back.. 26 year old American player who’s carrying his team right now. Would make a great replacement for Shaq Moore!
Rather have Yedlin back lmao
Shaq Moore... He better be the one who's cut... If not, he better not sniff the field...
I realize there's a difference in where they line up, but... Shaq Moore keeps getting these chances and yet John Brooks remains blacklisted...
(Also... who among us wouldn't take Auston Trusty over Moore?)
I would even take Potter or Kompany, but keeping Belhalter is just criminal
R u American? For sure you are not, foreigner.
@@andrewsadikin5226 i live in south texas chill
@@andrewsadikin5226 klingsmen was arguably the best coach we’ve had
@@MajinDKesKlinsmann and I’d say Bruce Arena’s first spell was the best.
Julen Lopetegui, the new West ham coach, wanted the job. USSF didn't even interview him so they could hire their handpicked stooge/yes man Berhalter. This program will not advance as long as he's the coach.
Haji wright isn’t consistent enough to be good for us at the 9, balogun either but with balogun if you play him correctly with gio he’s extremely more dangerous but Greg’s system doesn’t call for that
Relax.... we will pull it off in the copa america. Relax. Have faith. USA 🇺🇸
Nice , looking forward to the Copa !
They think Pulisic is going to be on the left..but I think he's going to the right and weah will be a wingback. I think we're going to a back 3. Ream, Carter-Vickers, Richards as CB, Robinson/Scally/Weah as Wingbacks, Cardoso/Adams as 6, McKennie/Musah as the 8, Pulisic, Reyna, Balo front 3. Likely a 3-4-3 or 3-4-2-1 look. IF we want to get more attacking, we can move to a back 4.
See, that would make sense, which means Greg will play a 4-4-2 for no reason and start miles Robinson over scaly because Greg.
Why TF is Tim Tillman there instead of Maloney when we needed another 6 and have more than enough Attacking MF, Rest of the roster is obvious but Shaq Moore being there is a joke
Man, if Luca Koleosho didn't get hurt in December, I would've loved to see him in this squad.
I really hope he commits to the US I feel like he'd be in competition to start for the US over Italy or Nigeria right now, Slightly worried about Canada and his eligibility there because he'd be a near instant starter for them. Growing up in NY hope he chooses us, we could use the depth at Wing.
@@SuperRavensfan101 We don't need an average tricky Burnley winger to save us, stop sounding desparate
@@jkjk6671 we don't need him to save us but he can provide quality depth
Can't believe Maloney didn't get called in considering Adam's situation and only having Johnny as only other 6, but brings in Tim Tillman??? Greg definitely inhibits our potential.
Tillman has been a pretty effective bully in the midfield recently for LAFC. Tracking back and notably being suddenly way better at picking pockets for possession. I get the feeling he's been spending a little more time than usual with LAFC's defensive performance coach Giorgio Chellini recently
@@cerebrixMaloney is a cemented starter for a top 8 team in the Bundesliga Tillman is aight but he shouldnt be there
@cerebrix please understand. Nobody cares what players are doing in MLS. It's been proven over the years even as recently as the World Cup, that it's not an acceptable, sufficient standard to go by, especially now at the Copa freaking America. Time to believe what our eyes have seen before! Tim Tillman should not be on this roster, period.
Maybe because we have a surplus of two-way wingers, and Musah can play 6?
@@asnark7115 still unacceptable to me. I would rather have a pure 6, specially one that is doing pretty good at the moment, than Musah or someone else as a potential hybrid. Even if Adam's wasn't in the situation he's in, I would rather have Maloney over Tillman.
Shaq Moore was the worst player when he got time in the World Cup
Brian McBride loves Moore. Funny stuff.
Keeping Greg limits this team tremendously…. He’s at best a subpar coach.
He's so bias with MLS players too. 3 MLS players called in with all the talent we have around the world? GGG is not a serious person.
@@DrJack-xn1rnlol. Just lol. A 3rd string GK, a 4th string RB, a 4th string CB and he is MLS biased?
Do y’all hear yourselves?
@@Phogadacbiet Doesn't matter. He shouldn't be bringing in Moore nor Tillman. The whole thing is dumb.
@@Phogadacbietrelax Shaq Moore will never play
But he played in the World Cup and looked terribly
@@DrJack-xn1rn now you’re complaining about a guy, who will most likely be cut, in Tillman. And, again, a 4th choice RB. Dest is injured, Scally is starting and Yedlin is injured.
You do realize someone familiar with his system makes more sense to call up than someone who’s literally, never played with this squad, nor his system?
Maybe put down the controller and actually watch.
GK position is the weakest for USMNT.
We don't produce GK anymore.
Every position is weak on the US team.
@@jutsu1Got some promising young prospects, but they're not ready yet. Turner is a big step down from what we have had before certainly.
Tbh, I was fine w Turner until his spell at Forest. He has never been good w his feet. But he was a high level shot stopper. Seems like he lost his confidence at some point. Looks so shaky now.
Gonna take a while until they’re ready but it’s a work in progress now
The position they really need to fill is head coach, I have zero faith in Berhalter to get the best out of any team.
If it's Weah at RB, then maybe it's Pulisic at RW and then Wright (deservedly) top of the depth chart at LW, given how productive they've been there with their clubs...
UPLOAD THE NEW EPISODE TO THE PODCAST!!!!!
Shaq Moore has been poor in MLS this season and really is only here because the coaching staff/federation have a weird obsession with his "defensive" ability? Shouldn't even touch this roster with his apparent skillset. DeJuan Jones and Marlon Fossey are much better fits if you want a more natural RB option.
DeJuan Jones is better than Shaq Moore, but Shaq Moore is coming back from injury, which is why he has only been playing recently. No way you've watch Marlon Fossey play.
Shaq Moore was awful towards the end of last season. But this season he has been really good, much better than DeJuan Jones.
All i know is I want Haji on the feild in every game . He's one of hottest players for his club and country. I'm not a coach so at the 9 or the wing I don't care just put him in.
Shaq Moore is a defensive specialist, which is not a bad shout for a late game sub role. Also, Weah played as a true right back at Lille. He excelled at a higher league level than Dest ever has.
Why is Sargent on the roster if hes hurt, this is what upset me, get some new kids in there
Nah Haji should play as a winger he does well there
After poor work against Columbia, they can comfortably cut Vickers, and there are only 3 midfielders and 4 forwards on that list that are consistently valuable. I've said it before, and I'll say it again--why not let Aaronson run wild at #10? His speed, intuition, creativity, and absolute ballz-out tenacity would open up so much for Pulisic, Weah, and Sargent...
I'm glad to see Kristoffer Lund as LB. He's very capable, strong and doesn't make many mistakes.
yeah the usmnt have great technical players but just lack a finisher Brian Mcbride was pretty good back in the day and Landon Donovan despite not being a true forward was capable of pulling something out of the bag hope the new generation do well I remember 2002 w.c the usa shocked the world would be nice if In 2026 they can repeat the trick 👍
I will always be a Tim Weah and Josh Sargent fan.
Throwback to when Bob Bradley told seb to get lost
List with Popcorn squard 😂😂😂
But we still have Gregg....but probably not have this summer.
If the US Federation plans on making some noise at home in the World Cup they need to sack Berhalter and get a real manager.
I mean in the voice of "better then a tub sock" ... "Better then 4 rightbacks"
Why can’t anyone pronounce Norwich correctly
They better figure out those fullback positions.
Cuz I'm going to be real with you this window playing Columbia and Brazil I want you guys to realize who they have on the wings. Vini and Diaz. So you need somebody who's capable of keeping up with those two step for step or at least be able to slow them down just a little bit and they don't get slowed down at the club level what makes you think it's going to happen here
It’s all not a big deal until we see Gregg start Shaq Moore at RB against Brazil and we see Vini Jr cook his soul like a picanha steak at your local Fogo de Chao
What does Trusty gotta do to break into this team? Sure, he played for a relegation team. But it's the Prem. And the year before that he was the top CB in the 2nd division. Miles has always relied on his speed and athleticism. Since he has come back from his injury, he doesn't even seem to have that goong for him. He is an MLS lifer for sure. Trusty should be atleast 4th if not challenging McKenzie for 3rd.
Do you think Colby Jones will get picked?
Yall really trying hard with the caption huh. Some of the players picked is ridiculous.
I’d play DeMarcus Beasley today over Moore.
I'm glad he is the coach, meaning mediocrity will be accepted
Herc: Pulisic isn't really a winger between his ears. I hope somebody sees this before 2026. Don't believe me? Watch what positions he's in relative to the rest of the attack whenever he does something nasty to the other team. Or go back and check the same in his highlights for assists and goals
How do y'all have 4 million subs and only 6.2k views? Tactical Manager has 45k subs and 4k views. LOLOLOLOLOL
Where is paredes?
Haji Wright had one (1) good game with the USMT and every thinks he should be the #1 starting striker. He’s a decent player for Coventry that finished 9th in a 2nd tier league. Compare that with Ricardo Pepi who has been a consistent performer for USMNT, who played amazing in a Champions League match, who won the Eredivisie with a historic club. The guy always scores and gets no respect.
The EFL championship is a stronger league than the Eredivisie by some margin. Wright also played incredibly well against premier league opposition in wolves and Manchester United this season.
Glad to see Greg back at work! Now it's time to get moving!
No dest?!
"Most historic soccer tournament there is" is a huge stretch

Most high ranking nations don't use players from the secon division. But of course this is the US. Wright or Sargent or both on the pitch. With a spriklingof MLS players behind them, which is more third divison quality. Yikes!!
I do love the idea of 3 CB with Timmy and Antonee going further up the pitch. However with an out of form Ream and an out of form Adams not sure who effective this will be. Feel bad for Zendejas. Nothing much more to prove at the club level.
I somewhat agree with your assessment in regards to our strikers. But the weight of our roster are in competitive leagues
Is Brandon Vazquez a bad option?
They could grab a janitor from any stadium they play at and he'd do a better job than Berhalter.
Absolute joke that Freddy Adu was left off this roster. Travishamockery!!!
I would call up Cavan Sullivan
Roster doesn’t matter. If they had prime Messi, Beckinbaur, Zidane, and Buffon, they still wouldn’t win anything with their current coach. He’d have Messi playing center back.
So out of curiosity am I the only person who noticed that haji wright has been playing wing all season? Or are these two clowns completely oblivious to the actual fact of that? See this is what I don't understand about herc. Why do you even talk when half the stuff that comes out of your mouth really makes no sense at all? All right let's just call it what it is your number nine is going to be flo. Maybe pepi. But at the end of the day haji I think can thrive on the wing and if that's where he's going to play that's where he's going to play
I’m an American soccer fan. Only sport I ever played. I have no idea what’s going on with the USMNT, and I never have. Why? Because nothing that happens in US soccer or the USMNT matters at all. Watching the Championship is more interesting.
The people who run US Soccer and the MLS are clueless clowns. Have been clueless, are clueless, and will likely be clueless in the future. Berhalter is a second-rate coach. The league is second-rate. The national team is second-rate, and not even in an interesting way.
And this is why an American lifelong football fan never wastes his time watching or caring about US soccer.
All the energy around anything in American soccer is just sound and fury, signifying nothing.
Wanted to see yall progress at Copa but it seems a weak link in the rb is gonna be the experimental downfall. Throw the tournament away will ya
Haji Wright should be the number 9
Shaq Moore should not even be considered. I like Ream but at 36 why is he still there?? We have to be able to find better options.
Ream is still useful at this point. But Probably after the Copa we will need to move.
@@jacoblind5390 should be moving on now. Doesn’t mean Ream still can’t play a part but who’s behind him? Nobody with any experience. He won’t be involved at the next WC as more than a player to maybe come on to close out games but that’s it. USMNT need to figure out it’s defensive shortcomings if they ever want to take the next step up.
Trusty is the obvious one. He is also a lefty. But Gregg is in love with Miles for some reason.
@@ZeroFamilon I agree trusty should be there. Maloney is also a lefty and can fill in at centerback.
@@zdbrownie I feel with his good performance in the national league final he showed his experience and stability are still needed plus if we go with a back 3 he would be needed with Carter-vickers and Richards.

It doesn't matter as long as football codes exist in some countries where that name already taken. Soccer is just nickname for association football so blame England for its cause and effect first, OK.
Scratch Haji and replace with Cade Cowell
Everything about Gregg Berhalter is just wrong! He is the wrong coach. He is the wrong motivator. He is the wrong man to handle egos. Moreover, USSF is wrong for bringing him back. The only way we will do well in Copa America is if our outstanding players get the job done. Gregg Berhalter will have nothing to do with it!
lets bet honest. It dont matter who the coach is. USA dont have players to win major tournaments.
Lmaoooo, average USMNT fan.
“Gregg is the wrong motivator”, yet: Pulisic, Weah, Adams, Mckennie, Dest, Richards and ream all wanted him back before he was announced.
“Only way we do well is if our players do well”
Just lol. It’s the players for us being good, but if we’re bad, it’s because manager. Do you hear yourself?
@@Phogadacbietwell it was GGG that picked Shaq Moore who was awful in the last World Cup and who isn’t the best American right back in MLS. So yes, when you have a shitty coach then if he uses shitty tactics and we play poorly it is his fault. And if we play well it is in spite of him.

Kevin Paredes should have been on this roster. Maybe Olympics, but this was his tournament imo

Squad not roster
6 years now, and the Berhalter haters are just as deranged as ever. Seems like a miserable way to follow a team. BTW, the USMNT is stronger than ever. Instead of enjoying that fact, these sad people would rather complain about everything constantly.
We’re have more talent than ever but it’s not because of Berhalter. More often than not it takes him forever to actually make the obvious move and has gotten out coached against higher level teams
A hallmark of the USMNT for generations was that we punched above our weight class by getting the most out of the players available from the player pool. We had very few players who were considered good by international standards, could barely field a starting XI without a joke of a player (Bornstein), and had no depth what-so-ever. We may still lack a super-star type talent, but we now have good players playing around the world in top 5 leagues and top half of the table clubs. Enough players that we actually have options at almost every position.
But what we lack is a coach who can get the most out of the talent. Gregg has ZERO signature wins in 6 years leading this team. Has selected players for "Vibes" instead of talent/ability, and has been out coached time and again by inferior sides.
We "haters" want what's best for the team....and the fact most of us see Gregg as a hinderance to their potential is why we speak up about it.
Can we just get rid of Greg already please. Please!!! We are getting so close to the WC. We still have time.
The US is going to pick up so many goals... they are just not at the level of South American teams.
@haitiancreolewithluciano We’ll get out of the group stage.
There are literally only two good South American teams lol

It's called soccer. The British made up that term. Look it up. 🤣😂
Its what the English named it when they brought it here and to all their colonies. Named after their original association. To counter the Scottish claim to creating the sport. Its actually chronicled in English Football Hall of Fame.
get over it kid
Can I call it kickball?
Take timmy tillman out and this is a solid roster. Would also replace haji wright with brandon vasquez. Form is fallacy people. Wright already proved he isnt cut out for the big time in the WC. Give another player a chance like Vazquez or maybe even a cade cowell. 🫡😏😌

@corruptsociety9146 Vazquez is better than wright. Wright is trash af playing in a trash team. 🤣😂🤣 we already saw what his trash level was in the last world cup. 🤣😂
dude has scammed american football fans for some time, haji just isnt all that
Good ol' Greggy will find a way to screw up this tournament. Frankly, I hope he does. Maybe then we can FINALLY move on and actually be properly prepared for a World Cup... that WE'RE hosting. Of course, I want our national team to do well, but if it has a malignancy, which it does and its name is Gregg, then you have to remove it. If doing that means going through a temporary setback to have greater success later where it really matters, then I'm all for it.
Side note:
I just DO NOT understand the infatuation and belief in Josh Sargent. He's 24. He's been playing with the USMNT (Senior Team) since 2018 when he was 18 years old. How many goals for the USMNT has he scored to date? F I V E. That's it. F I V E. Only three of those mattered for anything, and even that is questionable since it was Nation's League and all three of those were against Cuba. He simply HAS NOT shown up or done a thing at the National Team level. There's no way of disputing that. He's 24. He's not a rookie. He's not developing, and in all this time he's only lined up for the team 23 times. That's telling. He just doesn't have it. Face it. HE'S NOT THAT GOOD. He's done pretty well at Norwich City, and the Championship is a tough league/division. But that doesn't account for as much as people want to argue.
Haji Wright has had only 9 appearances with the USMNT and has 4 goals already. He shows up.
Balogun - 10 appearances, 3 goals and he's considered to be in a slump.
Aaronson - 40 appearances, 8 goals and he's really a midfielder.
Ricardo Pepi - 23 appearances (same as Sargent and has only been with the USMNT since 2021), 10 goals. He shows up.
Christian Pulisic (doesn't need qualifiers but let's look anyway) - 66 appearances, 28 goals and a lot of those have been huge.
Tim Weah - 37 appearances, 5 goals and that's as low as it is because Berhalter is a moron and has left Weah off the team for LONG periods of time in the past.
Josh Sargent - To reiterate - 23 appearances, 5 goals. Been with the team since 2018, and the goals he's scored have not really mattered. Also, he's hurt. So come on.
Zendejas or Vazquez would be WAY better call-ups. Zendejas has 7 appearances and 1 goal. He hasn't gotten the attention he deserves. Vazquez has 8 appearances and 4 goals, and also hasn't gotten the attention he deserves. They both play in Mexico. They're perfect for this tournament.
So YEAH, Sargent? IT JUST DOESN'T MAKE SENSE AND N E V E R HAS.
its not his fault USA dont have elite players.
