    A lot of people probably didn’t watch Burnley in the PL.
    They were a very well coached team. A lot of the times they can escape the opponent’s press and open up the opponent. You can see that they have done it in a step by step methodical manner.
    However the decision making of individual players in the final third were extremely poor. It’s so frustrating to watch them keep wasting so many great open ups.

      @@alonzor.2912 the players at burnley did not have the quality to play how he wanted.. i would not have changed my style either but he could have tweaked it a little bit. He did in the end and was getting results but it was too late.. most of the goals burnley conceded were because of poor decision from the players. They did not have the intellectual capacity to carry out the plan that he set for them. And kept making silly mistakes. ppl seem to forget that xabi Alonso also got promoted with real Sociedad B to the second tier in LA Liga before getting relegated the next season back to the third tier with him.. that did not mean he did not knw what he was doing.. the players just did not have the quality to play at that level. He then went to Bayer leverkusen and look at him now.

      @tetosmith9653 I am willing to bet Alonso didn't spend €150m on that Sociedad squad as well over 2 seasons.
      One of those players who made a lot of mistakes was Trafford, a keeper Kompany signed and massively overpaid for given his experience was only in the 3rd tier of football. Kompany was given more than enough funds to build this team and if you say the players weren't good enough that's on him. So not only did he fail dismally in that but he also failed to find a system that would allow them to survive relegation.

    Many people are thinking to themselves why are Bayern Munich hiring a manager who just got relegated in his first full season in the premier league. Vincent Kompany was their only other option especially since every manager they were interested in to replace Thomas Tuchel whether it was Julian Nagelsmann Hansi Flick Unai Emery Xabi Alonso Ruben Amorim Erik ten Hag Ralf Rangnick etc, turned them down. This decision to hire him has raised a lot of eyebrows across the footballing world, it was a better choice to get him rather than wait months to find a new manager. Did you really think that they were actually gonna hire an elite manager when they rejected them every time they were approached.
    There’s a lot of proven managers available on the market, they didn’t want to take the job there. This is one big massive gamble that they’re taking because he could be their Xabi Alonso or prove to be a massive failure there. This gamble could prove to pay off you never know. He has done a great job with Burnley getting them promoted back to the Premier League before getting relegated, realistically he is unproven and inexperienced at the highest level after getting relegated he’s about to manage Bayern Munich a team that has just come off the back of a disappointing season where they went trophy less for the first time in 12 years. He’s a very young manager, but the difficulty with coaching a club like Bayern Munich is how high the bar is set for them because there’s an expectation to win trophies year in year out whether it’s the Bundesliga or they have a deep run in the champions league. That is the pressure of being the manager at Bayern Munich because there’s more expectations to deliver there than at any other club and it’s one of the most difficult jobs in football. On paper, Kompany to Bayern Munich doesn’t make sense and it’s a very shocking move and decision that they made, but at the end of the day they didn’t have much of a choice.

    • @Frank-ii2ug
      @Frank-ii2ug Před 23 dny +1

      Saying they didn't have much of a choice is a wild statement regardless of which coaches turned the jobs down so far. There are other coaches in the bundesliga or that have experience in there. Clubs in the championship or the bottom of the PL or Bundesliga "dont have much of a choice". When you're Bayern Munich, if you open up the cheque book properly, you will have a few more choices. Either way it's a massive gamble that a big club like Munich shouldn't be undertaking.

    • @restinzas
      @restinzas Před 23 dny +2

      You're spreading a lot of misinformation. Amorim wasn't even considered by Bayern due to his tactics, they clearly prefer a coach who plays with a back four. Hansi Flick turned Bayern down? They could have signed him after Xavi announced he would stay some time ago, but they decided against it because of his embarrassing performance as Germany coach. His reputation is extremely damaged in Germany (especially because of the World Cup documentary in which he makes a terrible impression) and two of Bayern's bosses (Eberl and Hoeneß) no longer trust him. Ten Hag was never available on the market, they contacted him but it was never concrete, the same for Emery or Roger Schmidt... 🤦‍♂
      The only coaches that rejected Bayern were Alonso, Nagelsmann and Rangnick who all decided to stay where they are and finish their current jobs. They also asked Tuchel to stay but the supervisory board didn't allow the bosses to offer him a contract extension which was essential for him to stay, otherwise he also would've stayed. Oliver Glasner for example even WANTED to move to Bayern, but in this case Crystal Palace prevented that.

    Criteria to be a top tactician in modern football.
    Learn complex tactical ideas from a young age at a tactically extremely sophisticated academy like LaMasia. Kompany failed to meet this criteria.
    Through out his career, he does not play kick and rush football. So he can develop a tactical mindset to build up step by step in a methodical way. Kompany is not British, so not the worst, but he is not Spanish either. So he did okay in this criteria.
    He plays a DM/CB/GK (a central role at the back) for, or work with PepGuardiola, the greatest tactician in football history who revolutionised modern football. So he gets the opportunity to learn the most advanced, complex and sophisticated tactics in modern football.
    Capable to divide their tactics into thousands of pieces/details and feed/pre-instruct them into their players. Capable to control every single positioning and movements of their players like playing tactical chess under a microscope. Kompany fit this criteria.
    So overall, he is one of the top tactician in the modern game.
