- These buttery and savory biscuits are like the ones offered at a national seafood chain restaurant, but completely homemade and easy to make! Warm from the oven, they combine garlic and sharp cheddar, and are tender and light! Great with any meal!

I made these biscuits last night for dinner to accompany a creamywinter squash / potato soup . I only had gold medal flour but they were beautiful like those in your video and they were delicious! Got lots of compliments and gave you the credit.... These will be my "go to biscuit " with or without the cheese. Thank you so much for this and all of your recipes....I've made several: your Philly cheese steaks and your fried chicken (I've bought a vintage sunbeam electric skillet!) and I will try many more! Everything you make is very good! Love the videos and enjoy your cozy kitchen and vintage things.....keep them coming!

Hello Lucy and so glad you found us!! Wonderful to hear from New Brunswick!! Thank you so much for the note and we are so happy to know you enjoy the recipes!
Those biscuits look so good that I am going to the store right now to get some cheddar cheese so I can make these for dinner tonight. They will go great with the stew that I have planned for dinner. Perfect for a chilly fall night.
Thanks, Howard! These would be perfect with stew on a cold autumn evening!!
My mother received that bowl as a wedding gift in 1968. It's the biggest in a set of four bowls. I'll never forget the day my brother broke the bowl while we were doing dishes. Our jaws dropped and we had a moment of silence for it. All our favorite foods started in that bowl. For a moment, we were sure our mom would never make another cake or meatball!
What a great story about the Pyrex bowl!! These are great to use! I found this one at a garage sale - the other three smaller bowls didn't survive. The large yellow one was the last one left! Thanks for sharing your memory and for watching!
Yum! Can't wait to make these! Thx for sharing, guys!
You're welcome, moon lily!! Hope you give the biscuits a try - they are yummy!

i sure will. I just love watching you cook on the vintage stoves. I also am enjoying the recipes as well!
well you answered my question within the first few minutes of your video. wondering how long you guys were gonna be at the cottage! you guys are great!
Thanks, Hank! Another season over! Seems like they go by faster each year!! Gives us something to look forward to in the spring! Thanks for watching!
I want one Now Awesome !
Thanks, Raymond!
Great recipe Kevin and Ralph! Perfect for this time of year. And I looked into seeing if I could have Adluh Self Rising Flour sent to my house here in Rochester, NY and the shipping and tax cost for a 2-lb. bag through the Adluh website was $17.25. Needless to say, I will be seeing what I can find here locally. We do have some Mennonite/Amish stores here locally and they usually have different flours at a much cheaper price per pound so I will see if they have any. I get my bread flour at these stores. Will be sorry to see the cottage closed up, enjoy the rest of your autumn colors.
Hi Cathy! Shipping is a lot for a small bag of flour, but I'm sure you have some good flours available to you in your area. King Arthur Flour out of Vermont is very good, but I'm sure there are others. The self-rising type works best for this recipe. Hope you can give these a try - they are wonderful for autumn. Thanks so much for watching!!!
OMG I'm starving now!
LOL! Sorry to make you hungry! Thanks for watching!
Omg those look so yummy
Hi Sarah! Hope all is well with you and you guys are staying safe and well! These were SO good! Thanks for watching!
@@cavalcadeoffood we are doing ok. I am going through chemo again but i am ok.
Bisquick mix, makes great cheese garlic biscuits!
Thanks, Joseph - will have to try!! Thanks for watching!
Nothing replaces Southern Winter Wheat Flour, when making biscuits, White Lily, Southern Biscuit, and Adluh Flour are among the best.
Hi cunard61 - a friend of mine who lives in NC gave me a couple of bags of Adluh Flour - a wonderful flour and I really enjoyed using it! Every once in a while you can find White Lily here in Michigan, but not often. Thanks!
Also that restaurant chain you are talking about usually have some herb on top, I think parsley flakes.
I think you're right, Sabrina. Thanks for watching!
I spy a Norelco Dial-a-Brew! I have a 12 cup model. Rarely used but works great.
Hi wmalden - good eye! those Norelcos make great coffee! Thanks!
ohhhhhhhhhhh boy...I am trying this...
Hi Bonnie - hope you get a chance to make these!! Thanks for watching!
Yesssss💜😩
I am a bit confused so is that cottage a part time summer place Kevin and Ralph live during part of the year?
have you ever tried Robin Hood flour? just wondered if there were major differences...
I've heard of Robin Hood flour but don't see it in the stores here so I can't compare. There are differences in brands of flour, depending on the kind of wheat or the blend of wheat they use. Thanks!
We'd love to see a tour of the cottage before you leave it.
We keep meaning to get around to a tour one of these days!! Thanks for watching!
Ralph, Please quit moving (jerking)
the camera around!
Hi Carolyn! Ralph says he's sorry about the camera! He was too excited for the biscuits!!
