    I feel like a hundred years from now art history teachers will be teaching on this painting. It’s gorgeous. And your insights into how you painted it are so incredibly helpful to me.     Thank you. It's a hard thing to do, almost doesn't make sense, but one wash allows the light to come through the paint. Sometimes I mask so that I remember to leave it light.

      YES, that is exactly right (:
      I may try a hybrid approach of masking some large areas I SUSPECT may be hurt by too thick of a first wash.
