I don't usually like watching cooking channels but Donals channel makes cooking seen fun. Im just a 13 year old learning to cook and Donal makes it seem easy and simple to do
In france we actually call it "pain perdu" , (lost bread) because we used to do that with stale bread. Your recipes are very inspiring, thanks.

These look incredible! I've already done a creme brulee before, but I did the caramelised part under the grill (easier cleanup!). Another great filling is peaches and mascapone/honey.

Ahah when the french girl that I am moved to Dublin I couldnt understand what a "french toast " was! We just call that " pain perdu ' (lost bread) cause we (or a least my mum) use the rest of a baguette that is too hard to be eaten like that, and just use milk and eggs and add some sugar when it's fried! But I must say I love the non french version of the french toasts :p !

I'm french, and I always find it strange how this is called 'French toast', because in France we toast bread like pretty much everywhere, and here, this is called 'Pain perdu' - Nonetheless I think I'll try the recipe with berries and white chocolate. mmm...
I have tried the 3rd one, but to add cinammon in the sugar and caramelise it, that was really good.

For folks that are having trouble estimating the amount of egg needed for a batch: 1/2 egg per slice of bread, e.g. 6 slices of bread = 3 eggs. (**This is for single slice, not filled French toast. I cannot speak for the 2 slice toast Dolan made today)

But I'm surprised you didn't add sugar in your egg mixture, that's how we would usually do it in France. I guess you already had a lot of sugar coming from the rest of the food :P

I agree! I checked twice & he didn't use the yogurt. Why go to the trouble of making it & showing it to us if he wasn't going to use it? An oversight I'm sure, what with three delicious french toasts waiting to be sampled. Maybe he needs some additional staff members to make sure he uses all the ingredients 🤔 Plus he might let us eat some that way too! 😏😂
It's just a topping with blueberry one! You can see it at the end- it delish! :)
