question: i currently own tinkhawk 2 that came with the goggles and transmitter. if i buy the tiny hawk freestyle version will i be able to use the goggles and transmitter?
Great to know that Emax is listening. I have almost 100 dollars in my Freestyle and its good to know that if it all goes down I can almost get the same result again just by going out and getting the new version.
Buzzing I just got mine in the air. I cant wait to get flying again after giving up on my old quads. I bought this and with in 30mins in flying. So so happy.

I was and still am perfectly happy with my Freestyle 1. HOWEVER, when I got my Race, the inferior quality picture from the original Freestyle camera became more obvious, so I bought the newer camera and made some 3D printed post mounts for it. Doing it this way also allowed me choice of the lens, 1.8 or 2.1 to best suit me. I have not found any issues with the VTX from the Mk1, maybe because if I want more range I'll want to be flying something bigger from my collection anyway. I'm glad they have made this change for new users, and its great they listen, EMAx do seem currently to be ahead of many in the way they bother to test and set up, and to take advantage of new items, but its an easy mod for those with a Mk1. Good review as always Andy.

Feel rather pleased with myself as I changed very little too but the RX loss was one of them. I'll definitely have to re-watch and find that button for the vtx, shame you gotta do it every time! I upgraded the VTX in my first one and put a runcam nano in with a 3D printed part, flew great but receiver was still crap and a failsafe resulted in a crash which killed the FC. Problem is a replacement FC costs almost as much as I paid for it in the first place.

I looked at the PID profiles on mine but, I guess I missed the throttle limit. That would probably explain the voltage sag that I was getting on profile 1. I'll still be swapping to XT30 though. I really don't like the 2x 1S battery setup. They at least stay in place if you use a bit of Ummagrip though. Nice review, as always.
I was able to achieve 10 minutes of hovering on the original 1s emax batteries. Can’t wait to see how long it will last outdoors with my 550 mah 1s batteries. Can’t test it out yet as unfortunately i have a weather problem here aswell 😊
Just got my TH2FS a few days ago, and i've been trying to tune out mid throttle oscillations out for the past few hours. I wasn't sure what it was but I noticed the PID values for my Profile 2 were completely different than the ones you had on screen. I copied them to PID profile 3 and reverted my filtering to defaults, hopefully I can shake these oscillations before my 360GO and mount show up this week.
Like the aircraft but mine "exploded" after only a few flights during a normal Bettafilght Air Mode landing. Somewhat bumpy landing but not at all unsual. The SUPPORTS are made from NYLON and stripped out. Pieces and screws went every which way. I'm replacing them with METAL. Lost one of the camera supports during the incident. 3D Printing another one. Having to design it myself. Unable to find one online. Can't wait to get it back in the air. Really performs. Hopefully it will hold up this time after fixing the DESIGN FLAW. 2s is about as big as you want to go on this class aircraft. Have a couple 3s in this size, too awkward.
Also important to set up VTX smart audio in the ports tab by enabling tramp VTX also it has been my personal experience the emax lipos suck one will puff everytime...love your videos!
Loved the first one, this one looks to be even better. Now just need some European vendors to have it in stock, cause anything from banggood is taking ages currently.
When I ordered the tinyhawk 1 last year it was stoped at customs, I have ordered this one so fingers crossed this time because I really what one of these
@@kjj8770 yes uk, I think it was because of the batteries. ps my larva x was sent to me faulty by banggood and I did not get a full refund just some points. last year was a bad year for me. this year not looking good as well lol.
Looks more of a refresh than a new version... Should have kept that "II" moniker for something better. Sadly this has nothing on a fully upgraded Freestyle with the R9, Baby Ratel and TBS Nano 32.
I don't think you need to change the freestyle profile to rate 2 for 2S batteries (I think that was only for the tinyhawk2, not the freestyle). That's why they don't include the 1S adaptor plug (they figure everyone will fly the freestyle on 2S, so it comes configured for 2S out the box). I fly mine on rate1 profile and haven't had issues. You are better of switching out for X30 connectors and buying better LiPo's anyway.

Im not sure whether to go analogue or digital (DJI setup - with DJI goggles) I dont really want to buy multiple goggles, trying to keep costs down. Any thoughts? what do you suggest?
First timer here. Just bought the rtf kit with this drone. It was a blast until I crashed it and broke the battery connector... So as a total noob I'm wondering if I purchase a replacement freestyle II what will I have to do to make it work with the controller and goggles from my kit?
I'm sure you figured it out by now but if not. You would just need to rebind. That said I'm sure you've out grown the controller that came with the rtf kit as have switched to a better one.
I have bought every Tinyhawk since the original and will be getting a Babyhawk r pro soonish. My Tinyhawk Freestyle I upgraded The VTX, Camera, lipo connector and frame. It’s freaking fast I love it... My maiden flight with it is the newest video on MY CHANNEL BranMan FPV. About time they did it if you ask me the original Tinyhawk Freestyle should have had these upgrades already.. The only upgrade was a frame and the motors? What’s up Emax?

Hey, I was wondering how did you make the antenna stand up on the tinyhawk freestyle 1. I want to do the same for my tinyhawk 2 freestyle. Did you add a antenna tube ? Looked like you used a zip tie and heat shrink only.
for a felld like mine id go for the freestyle. It's got a longer flight time than the phantom. But if I needed more Range then the phantom has a full range receiver so which ever one of those is more important to you

They have setup that FC right on the limit of what you could actually fly, the CPU load is at 44%! Unless you lower the loops and dshot cycles, using JESC bi-directional would probably melt that CPU lol
It's because they heat up when plugged in to the pc for too long which they always are when doing these reviews. It sends the values up. Set it at 4k and I'm sure it could easily handle it with the airflow

Well shit, i just ordered the Tinyhawk 2 Race because i wanted the upgraded VTX and Cam over the Tinyhawk Freestyle i also own... :( But im happy they updated the Freestyle Model with the Race 2 Components, because as you said: "Don't underestimate what half an inch can do in terms of performance" hahaha

You need to unsolder the current battery leads and then solder on an xt30 pigtail

go digital if you can afford it. you can add an analogue module to the dji goggles. look up digi adapter

only if you have a d8 module or a multimodule for it. otherwise you will need to add another receiver

Metootube82 should be able to if u can get it in binding mode
Metootube82 multimodules are like $25 and can control like everything tho so not a bad investment

Hey Andy I’m looking for a quad as a step up from my tinyhawk 2 freestyle and was wondering what toothpick you would recommend. I’m considering the geprc phantom - is it noticeably more powerful? What toothpick would you recommend as an upgrade? Thanks!!!
No a toothpick very similar to this a step up would be something like the Diatone 349 or 369
