I’m totally just starting my midlife crises this spring. Bought a Big Rock, 8200MAH batt and decent charger in January. Watched all of Talbot’s vids and I’m glad I started now because I don’t have that much money in it yet. I’ve been looking at that GENS Ace charger and their smart and basher batteries. I like how they’ll discharge themselves to proper storage levels after 3 days of no use. Everything is RTR and plug in and walk away now. What a time to be alive. MERICA!
Gens ace makes a solid product across the board. G unit!
Cool to see Gens Ace get into the smart battery game and at very reasonable prices. Not quite as feature rich as the Spektrum G2 batteries (auto discharge is such a nice feature), but you definitely pay for it in the extra cost of the Spektrum stuff. Hopefully Gens Ace getting into Smart battery tech, means others will too. Maybe even get an industry standard going where some brands will work interchangeably between chargers. I'm sure there would still be the proprietary stuff, but it's good to see more competition popping up in when it comes to batteries and smart features.\
Great charger which has become my favorite but Gens Ace needs to address a safety issue , they need to make an extension cable with the G tech wire installed so you can charge in a bag or what ever safe method a person uses . Charging batteries this close to a charger is risky , yes you could use any extension cable or balance board but then whats the point of the G tech option . One 6s cable with the same female end like whats in the charger with the G tech wire . If this new smart technology is good for young and new users they need to learn about Lipo safety and Gens Ace isnt helping , sure fires are rare and always the other guy who's house burns down but the next time could be you .
Great video! I love your work and opinion. After researching dual chargers/dischargers, I've noticed not many have the ability to show the internal resistance of a LIPO. In your opinion, is that an important feature? Thanks in advance.

I know that when I connect my Gtech 6s battery it just starts charging automatically on my D300 . But what I don't like about that is that it goes into "charge mode" not "balance charging", which is what it's always recommended for long term durability for lipos correct? For me to charge the Gtech battery in balance charge mode, I have to stop the automatic process and put the balance charge process manually. Am I missing something? Or do I just let the charger and gtech battery do their thing??
How does the storage mode work with g-tech? It’s asking me to confirm the balance?

If this auto charges for g-techs how do you get it to storage mode? Do you just need to override it manually?
Yeah, that's what I do. I stop the charge process and go into storage mode manually. For me personally, the auto charge function is kind of annoying. And it "charges" your battery, not evenly balance charge. So I stop the process anyways. It's a great charger anyways.
My Primal raminator is now set up on gens ace basher series using 4s 14.8v 11000 mah batteries. Will this be the best choice for dual charging those batteries?

Can I i connect a regular battery and the JST-XH plug to the charger?
Yes you can, but you have to do the other stuff manually. I use my d300 to connect my other non gtech battery into my D300. I just connect it right into the D300 port. 👍

Yes! I still use it and the one prior to it. They work great
