  • @3SonsRC
    @3SonsRC Před 3 lety +6

    These batteries look sweet,
    But I really wish Gens Ace would have reached out to the Hardcore Basher community beforehand as these are way too big and heavy. They are for Bashing but the weight can cause breakages because of the weight. Great effort and I like the thought, but they should have tried to target the weight of a standard 6s 5400mah with maybe more mah.... I think whatever truck I run I would break it 5 times before I run down a 11000mah 😂😉
    Even 8000mah is way more than most need.
    For 8s 2x 7000mah tops IMHO, and 6s nothing more than 6000mah I prefer because of the weight.
    11000 and 15000 in a Kraton 8s😢😔😂😂
    Performance fantastic.... But please Gens Ace us Hardcore Bashers don't need the weight or MAH.... My 2 Cents... Hope I don't come across too negative.
    Appreciate the time and the video though brother 😎👍

    • @johnsorensen5758
      @johnsorensen5758 Před 3 lety +3

      Yes I agree plus the motor usually needs a cool down break seems no matter what the setup they start to get warm after a little bashing I run 4500 mah that gets me plenty of run time it's light and by the time its dead the motor and esc is happy to have a break😀👍

    • @TheRCNetwork
      @TheRCNetwork  Před 3 lety +1

      GensAce will have more options for the "bashing" series here soon - these are just the first three. But, honestly, the 8000mah is not much heavier than a standard 5000mah 3s pack.....but definitely lower in CG, as it's longer (especially for the saddleback trucks) As it is, there's hundreds of options for 5k-6k packs. Def. not negative and I appreciate the feedback - I always appreciate seeing you in the comments!

      @klampfinger Před 2 lety

      So true. I am not interested putting over 1kg of battery in my rigs. I like lightweight vehicles. In terms of running time its enough for me to have 15mins per vehicle. Then i want to change to another car anyway.
      I like my 4500mAh 3s/6s packs. And if i destroy one of them its not that much money.
      But i like the innovation. The housing looks interesting. Between Hard- and Softcase. Hopefully the will release this kind of Lipos with less mAh and weight.

      All Lipos come from the factory in a storage mode - so usually 3.85v/cell or half way charged. You can use them right away, but they’re only half way charged. You should never leave a Lipo either drained or fully charged more than a day. Always return them to storage charge when not in use. If you’re new to Lipos, please read up on all of the rules….they can be quite dangerous and potentially deadly if misused.

    • @TheRCNetwork
      @TheRCNetwork  Před 2 lety +1

      I always opt for two 3s batteries….as they’re more versatile being able to use them in other RC’s and overall easier to charge/balance. Plus if one cell goes bad in a 6s, the entire battery is gone vs. only losing one battery in two 3s’s

    I'm worried about weight. I currently have a Big Rock v3 and it has a spektrum 5000mah 50c. is there a big weight difference between that and the 8000mah 3s? Will the extra weight effect my trucks performance and balance?

    • @TheRCNetwork
      @TheRCNetwork  Před 3 lety

      Two things - weight wise, you're adding 125 grams (375 on the spectrum vs 500 on the GensAce). Second - the GensAce is spread over a length of 157mm vs the Spektrum at 138mm. Both are the same height (35mm for the Spektrum and 34mm for the GensAce). So, yes, a bit heavier but 40% more run time....a much better performing battery (100C vs. 50C on the Spektrum) and the same center of gravity, but possibly better with more weight down low with the GensAce

      C rating is how fast the battery can discharge..meaning it can feel a bit faster or punchier. Keep in mind, C ratings are not regulated, so anyone can put any rating they want on batteries and there's not really a way to check other than using it and comparing. Yes, two of the 3s packs would work great for the Kraton - they're the "goto" batteries at this point.....I would always opt to have two 3s packs over one 6s. 3s packs are less volatile and pack 11.1v vs 22.2v. Less risk in my book

      Vice - just trying to give you an informed answer...not just the typical "FaceBook: Yeah Bro, you'll be fine". Is it going in a Traxxas Slash 2wd and you want to run in knee high grass? 22t in Slash is way different than a 22t in an Arrma. You know, gear rations, pinion pitch, etc. 1/10th scale means different things to different vendors - the Tekno MT410 is called 1/10th scale, but it's the same size as an Arrma 1/8th scale 6s Outcast - go figure, right? There's also 1/10th scale touring cars/drift cars, scalers, crawlers - hell even drag cars - all completely different sizes, gear ratios, and intended uses. Lastly, this is a long length battery, not all RC's can take it....it was designed to fit Arrma's 3s, 6s and 8s trucks - including the connector. Do you have an EC5 connector on the Firma ESC? Does your truck have an expandable tray like the Arrma's? Have fun with RC and absorb information, my friend.
