ok, stupid question, why always Mutombo's photo before each block. Im high af and I thought it was Mutombo's top 20 blocks before my 5th watch.
Hahahahahaha it's just a countdown photo because he is Mr. Not in My House
Because he's the best blocker ever.
@@ryanh4345 Mutombo is the second best blocker, Olajuwon is number one
it took you 5 times to realize it wasnt mutombos top 20 blocks? lmao dude pass that shit
mantoniol24 same
Big Ben blocked the soul out of Shaq at that play tho
Great list to me.
Personally, I think that #9 (Wilt blocking two sky hooks on the same play by Kareem) is the best because it was the "unblockable" shot and Wilt did it twice in a row after he had an achilles tear a couple of years before.
Well, that was before goal tending was introduced in the NBA. It's on this list because it was a legal block at the time.
Go ahead and watch it again. Watch closely this time and take your personal prejudices out of it.
The ball was at its zenith (that means the highest point) both times. A legal block both times.
Additionally, goaltending became illegal in 1958 and the Wilt blocks on Kareem happened in the early 70's. ;) The more you know.
+Carlyata1 Goaltending was introduced to stop George Mikan, who retired before Wilt Chamberlain was in the NBA. So i'm pretty sure it was a rule when Kareem was around. Regardless, neither of those blocks were goaltends
+BeysGamez But LeBron couldn't block Kareem.
+BeysGamez boy you're the one who sounds ignorant. Changed the game? 😂😂😂 please. Wilt blocked the unblock able shot twice in a row. This is coming from a Celtics fan not a "delusional lakers fan"
How about Snorlax blocking the path?
The ref called foul.
+SavageGodXII That shit was clean though! Definitely not a foul.
Lol. Classic game
Old wilt chamberlain blocked peak jabbar's sky hook...
It's amazing how people say that Wilts ability was bullshit. Wilt was at the end of his career then when he blocked a super young Kareem.
2nd one was a goaltend tho
His physical ability was sublime but other than that he was mediocre. He wasn't as skilled as Hakeem or Ewing but it was probably because he didn't have to be. I believe if he played in today's game he would have developed a post game.
+Raph Peres wilt Had great post game, he Had a great fadeaway and a bank shot. the difference is that he was a huge athlete and you forget how talented he was. oneal Had weaker moves offencibly but he was so big and strong that made a huge difference
I read somewhere that said Wilt could shoot from half court regular jumpers and that we went in pretty well... I think Wilt in today's game would've been a stretch 5 who can take it inside lol
LeBron with his game stopping block
Kyrie hit the shot to put the cavs up
Love played that amazing defense on Curry to assure the W.
Man, they all showed up. I know its irrelevant to this video but CAVS WON
4th quarter with only a minute to go, tied at 89 in a game 7 nba finals. It doesn't get any greater than that.
same but with 1 second remaining maybe ? xD
@@astromigui it would have went to overtime
@@Alwaysonhots-bu6lu the best would have been if the Warriors were down by 1 point and it was with like 1 second left lol. Just imagine
Remember that nothing is impossible like nate robinson block on yao lol
Considering it's importance LeBron's block on Iguodala has to go down as the greatest block of all time but the most incredible block ever was Nate Robinson stuffing Yao Ming. After all, Ming is 7' - 6" and Robinson is 5' - 9". This is the equivalent of LeBron
blocking a shot from a guy who's 8' - 3". Good video .... thanks for uploading it.
actually it would be the equivalent of someone 8"5
princes game winning chasedown was so much better than lebrons and equally important.
@jason juster LOL wrong and wrong.
Jason Juster LOL fail grammar. I win.
+Justin Hopkins I never was good at math. With LeBron's leaping ability I'm sure he could probably stuff an
8'-5" guy.
"Iguodala to Curry back to Iguodala for the layup! Oh blocked by James!!" That will never get old we finally got our championship!! Go Cavs!!
AH so many Pistons Blocks! Beautiful!
#2 and #3 are my 2 all time favorites blocks
People disliked cause Lebron was #1
yeah because it's fucking terrible...I prefer jordans block in 2 handed at the age of 40...imagine that,at the age of 40
Tayshaun princes one on reggie was better
Lebron's block is "terrible"? I obviously could understand the opinion that it's not the best block of all time, but saying that block is terrible is just foolish.
+Nick Zhang Nah dude, the difference one was a game seven Finals game the other a playoff game, those two are all time best blocks.
JL tayshuans one might not be as important but it was definitely a better block.
Detroit was in most of the clips proves how strong their defense is
It's amazing to see how much more goes into a block than just jumping and swatting the ball. Take Wallace's last and the block by Tayshaun Prince, how perfectly timed both of them were and the angle they took to be in the perfect position, and the concentration by Big Ben to be sure to block it off the backboard to keep play going. Beautiful
Where's Shannon Brown in this?
Was a foul tho
+John Lamb it was called a foul but that was clean
+Kale Gordon nah he made a bit of contact with his body on the Hawks players
I agree.. was wondering the same thing
Rose’s block was my favorite block. That dude flew
UPDATE: LeBron's block on Iguoudala in the 2016 NBA Finals is #1..
Bandwagon
+trapjumpin ! lmao not even gonna try to justify why I am the opposite of what you're implying I am
True. Its a pressure game specially with the gsw fans and homecourt advantagne. NBA Game 7 Finals, Tie Game, last minute of the game, a win or go home situation and a great chasedown block. If iggy's shot couldve gotten in it would be pressure for cleveland. Ofcourse its a game changing block. Definetly number 1
I've said this before... LeBron's block was great... but "Greatest Block Of All Time", No. Top 5, yes. Top 3, maybe. Number One no... The poster missed another block that maybe not as spectacular as LeBron's, it was a hell of a lot more important than LeBron's. Hakeem's block on John Starks in the final seconds of Game 6 of the 1994 Finals was more important... than LeBron's... Starks makes that shot, the Knicks are champions.
Shane Jones same rules apply to lebrons block though. not saying that it was more important, but if iggy made that layup, there was barely any time to score for the cavs. and we all know the cavs arent the most clutch, high performance team under pressure
Great list, good order at the top ranks!
Wallace! Sir Ben. Wow... Shaq-f-up.
nice vid bro I kinda thought that LeBron one would be in it that was sick!
Thanks bro! It was incredible!!!
#1 made this feel like a troll video
lol what? shit was amazing
Where is the 5 or 6 block of bol
Tyrone Brown agreed, block is overrated
Lol. If it was a different player, you'd probably say otherwise.
@E Doublelol. I never said you played, genius. Your generation is over. Your heroes are done. As if calling LeBron fans jockriders is an opinion. Lmao.
Yeah. There's one thing you and COD have in common, you both suck. Try again, sunshine.
Yeah Detroit! Dominating this list!
Ben Wallace - the greatest blocker of all time!
D rose got UP on his block
00:49 when the crowd goes with the beat
Amazing man got my two favorite blocks of al time tayshawn princes and Big Ben wallaces
Amazing work man I luv it
thanks bro!
LeBron on Tiago Splitter is just beast mode
Ben Wallace on shaq should have been number 1. He absolutely devoured that from the most dominant big to ever play
yeah but it was old shaq bruh
+Jackson Abraham NBA Finals Game 7, peer pressure since its a gsw homecourt, last minute of the game, win or go home situation, tie game, amazing chasedown block. If iggys shot got in. GSW couldve won the championship because the pressure will be on cavs. Im not a cavs fan but i hope this would help you alot about this really is the no.1 block of all time. For NOW :)
Big Ro the real SHAQ would go up strong and dunk. This is the frail old shaq that couldn't even get off the floor
It's a fun list. Good stuff man
Great list, props for putting LaPhonso Ellis in there. One my favourite blocks of all time.
What about when Shaq blocked it so hard off the glass that the entire arena loses power
I love how accepting Lebron's block as the best of all time is being a lebron fan.
Really fresh!!
Lebron is an incredible jumper. His head is almost at the rim and he blocks the layup without even stretching his arm.
There are a couple of older impressive blocks missing...Isiah Thomas once blocked a Kevin McHale's hook!
And "Baby Jordan" Harold Miner once blocked a dunk attempt by Patrick Ewing..
Hibbert Block on Melo is not that impressive. every Melo dunk attempt are getting rejected.
Even by the rim itself xD
he cant even get to the rim these days
Melo only really shoots these days. I missed the Nuggets days with AI, JR, Billups (?), and Melo. I think I messed up the lineup list, it's been a while.
+Kirby Wizard_64 well he is getting old and fat
I know, but he will be succeeded by Porzingod so he's got that going for him
LeBron James said...
Get back on the bench Splitter.
To y'all saying LeBron didn't deserve the #1 spot: it's there because it's a clutch block in the last minute of game 7 after coming back down from a 3-1 lead in the finals, something no one had ever done. It's the context of it mixed with how perfectly he timed it and how fast he ran to get there. If one of those grab blocks or Wilt's double block against Kareem was in that situation, it'd be the top. But LeBron's is there because the context of it makes it one of the all-time greatest and most iconic plays in sports history
Nice Video like it pretty good
thanks bro!
lebrons block in the finals >
number 3 should be 1.....Tayshawn came from left field and if Reggie makes that game over and Pistons don't win in '04
True
Detroit were up by two, even if he had made it they would have had the last possession for the regular time game and a chance to at least win, or go to OT. If LeBron had not blocked Iggy, GS would be up by 2 with under 2 minutes remaining, the whole landscape of the game could've changed with that one bucket. Not even mentioning that it is a game 7 of the NBA finals. It should be number two, but number one belongs to James.
Lebron covered the whole court in 8 seconds on that block, and was basically out of Frame until iguadala was up in the air.
You are dumber than dumb
To call Prince’s block clutch for the title and not acknowledge lebron’s your brain must have some serious damages.
The most important block in NBA history is LBJ's in game 7 vs. Warriors... but believe me, the most incredible one was Tayshaun's one against Reggie "the killer" Miller.
Great list
thanks bro!
Kinda hoping to see Kenneth Faried's nasty block on dion waiters and Thomas Robinsons block on Corey Brewer
Or Kenneth Faried's alley oop block this season against the thunder
Or 99% of Hassan Whiteside's highlight tape blocks.
Nice video!
Shannon Brown's would have been here if not for the ref :(
There's also one from Portland. There's a monster block that leads to an alley-oop.
yea i just saw your comment on that vid lol
the Thomas Robinson block
Shalev Shushy oh XD I was thinking about the video, so I saw it. Again.
Shalev Shushy True, I can't believe I didn't remember
Thanks
Thats nice need more in games
couldnt agree more with this list
Dwight howard laughing after watch this
LaPhonso should've been #1.
And what about Manure Bol blocking 4 shots in a row?
*Manute
The dude is 7'7 none of his blocks are that impressive
Totally agree with your choice of Lebron at the top of the list. That block destroyed the rest of the confidence GSW had and led to Kyrie Irving's fatal three. Coupled with a down 3-1 comeback, game 7, of the finals, to ultimately defeat the best regular season record of all time, and by Lebron James, you cannot get better than that. Years ago, such a tale would be legend. People wouldn't believe it.
Just wait, in a few decades from now, we'll see that gleaming look in the eyes of those who were there that night as they see that moment once again in their minds. Makes me think of Magic on the Dream Team documentary.
yow great vid
Um where the hell is Shannon Browns block at?
The refree called foul!
it was a foul mate. it wasnt imo but the ref called it, meaning not an official block
wasn't no damn foul!
I knew lebron would be number one #thanks
Nice profile picture lol LeBron's Block in these past finals was one of the best NBA plays of all time.
+Sports_AllDay barely
Jackson Abraham How so?
+Jackson Abraham NBA Finals Game 7, peer pressure since its a gsw homecourt, last minute of the game, win or go home situation, tie game, amazing chasedown block. If iggys shot got in. GSW couldve won the championship because the pressure will be on cavs. Im not a cavs fan but i hope this would help you alot about this really is the no.1 block of all time. For NOW :)
+John David you suck dude poor loser read the title moron
100% this was made by a Cavs fan
Perfect list!
thanks bro!
October 2019??
What about Shannon Browns block?
they called goaltending
amen
For real
No, they called it a foul.
I feel like people will always argue about lebrons being #1. Cuz I mean situation and stuff aside, it looked really no more impressive/ cool than his other 5000 chase down blocks. It's just the situation that makes it ridiculous. He doesn't catch up and make that block and suddenly lebron James has one less ring to his legacy
Kke buena recopilacion... The Best
Shannon Browns 2 handed head above the rim chase down block ?
goaltend
that was a goaltend lol
+Dj Akedemiks son Cj Akedemiks lol.. foul not goaltend
Nte Robinson on Yao Ming deserves no.1
i agree
I agree that his block was the most impressive, but at the same time you have to add in the moment. I understand that it is just a best blocks video, but LeBron's block was a game saving game seven game 7 winner (along with Kyrie's 3). That's a lot of games in one sentence. Much respect to Nate though.
I meant to put game 7 of the NBA finals in the last part, my bad
+Jamez Xaldwell Wasn't that just a regular season game? I mean this is game 7 of the NBA finals. That makes this the best block
+Brian Smith yeah
My two favorites, number 1 and 19
That Maxiell block on Chandler was just obscene!
Prince should've been number one. Remarkable effort and he had no help like LeBron had from J.R.
Did it determine who would win the championship?
+Kenneth Donnelly No, but in terms of how impressive the block was, he should be 1. LeBron didn't determine the championship with that block, he just gave his team a better chance. And if Prince didn't block Miller, they'd probably be down 2-0 in the series and would have had a far worse chance of winning the championship that year, which they did. Prince's was just far more impressive than James and the recency effect took place on this list.
So coming back from 3-1 deficit against a defending champion record-breaking 73-9 team in the finals for the first time in history with a block is less impressive than "probably" getting 2-0 behind against a team which has never won a title?
+Kenneth Donnelly No, I'm not talking about circumstance, I'm talking about the individual blocks. I just mentioned the 2-0 deficit to show that the circumstances were both high stakes, not that that matters. But you're probably a Cavs fan so no matter what I say you'll have something to say back. The individual play by Prince was more impressive than LeBrons.
I would disagree. If LeBron didn't catch that block Iggy was making that layup maing them go up a basket and who knows what would have happened after that. Remember both teams were stuck at 89 for a while and momentum would have easily been Golden State's side after that layup. LeBron literally crushed the hearts of the Warriors with that block and then the Kyrie 3 after was just beautiful. Defense truly wins games. That block was better bro and if he would have lost that game LBJ's legacy would have took a hit , that block saved his legacy it just meant so much more man and he ran from the corner to get it just crazy
no manute bols 4 blocks in a row
Exactly. But then again, they would probably be like, "Who's Manute Bol?"
LOL you're right
A great block is the greatest feeling, ive played basketball for several years and nothing comes close to give me the same good feelings as a monsterblock, i once blocked a old teammate that changed preseason haha he got benched rest of the game after my monsterblock.
You should have put the name of the Shot Blocker in each play.
Good idea!
Nate Robinson blocking Yao should've been one
i will never forget that block prince had on miller that was so huge when it happened
#6 I told you, he is fun to watch lol damn........you are so right about him
I know I'm a year late but how is Manute Bol making 4 blocks in a row not on this list ffs
Calum Hogan Because I decided to consider the single block plays for this list, talking about sequences that was the best ever. ;-)
haha yeah that's true, great vid all the same man
Calum Hogan thanks for the support bro!
no olajuwon on Kevin johnson?!?!?!
Edwin Borrero Yeah an he's the leading shot blocker of all time.
Nasty blocks. Daym!!
fantastic job when you think that you don t have any zo morning, david robinson nor patrick ewing block ! #2 Laphonso Ellis one is insane
LeBron=Greatness
fuck LeBron
+The Gaming Happie Ok u think so...
+AfroTurk Gaming afro Turk that's a name
+The Gaming Happie So, what do u think about it?
+AfroTurk Gaming dumb as hell
I hate lebron...but well deserved #1
good sport. I also think that lebron's block should be #1 because he saved his team for kyrie irving to hit the 3 for the championship
#2 was more vicious but #1 came in a game 7 in the finals. I respect it
I'm torn for #1. Lebron's block was the most pressure filled block possible....last minutes of game 7 in a tied game.
But man....Wilt blocked Kareem's sky hook?....the most unstoppable shot in NBA history?.....TWICE IN ONE POSSESSION? Holy smokes! That's freaking epic!
LeBron James isn't the biggest blocker of all time but he the greatest blocker off all time...Like if you understand what I mean...
He’s really good at chase down blocks.
If u honestly think that Lebron is the greatest blocker of all time, you have no clue what you are talking about.
ben on shaq should be number one in the history books.
Before this year many believe Tayshaun's block against Miller was the greatest block of all time since it happened in a in late playoff, the game was very close, and that play was very decisive. If you apply all the same standards to Leborn's block against Iguodala it is fair to say Leborn's one is better. Therefore, Leborn's block should be the number one in this list.
*LeBron
Nope even though it was the finals it wasn't a big last play like Miller and princes. That shot by Miller would have tied it but lebrons was just a great play in the last 2 mins which wasn't as clutch and decisive as princes.
You can't compare a GAME 7 in the Finals to a GAME 2 eastern conference(round 1,round 2,finals)...just don't..
every time I see #-1 I get chills. witnessed it live it still looks impossible and it directly led to a championship..omg
gtfo tayshaun princes block is the greaest... he had no chance to get it and did
Lebron's, block had much more of an impact though...
If he hadn't blocked it i have no doubt in my mind the warriors
would've won.
That block led to a Kyrie Irving three which won the Cavs the finals..
Lebron>Prince
Prince's was better, but James' block was more impactful, given it was game 7 of the finals. J.R. Smith did a good job of making Iguodala go up and under his reach, giving LeBron the ability to time the block. Prince was pretty much out of nowhere by himself. Good thing Miller was like 40 and didn't just dunk it, though.
L
+Brett Reason we arnt talking about the impact of the block, the videos is just about the block itself. we dont get to see a whole backstory on each block before it shows
Jordan Bennett a regular LITTY block compared to a championship winning block against the best team record team AFTER being down 3-1 is 100x better
This is Not a number one
Aven9er yes it is. That block is the reason they won an NBA championship
You got Lebron's chase down AND Old Wilt swatting Young Kareem in the SAME video. nice!!
I want to see these guys play together lol
PG - Gary Payton
SG - Kawhi Leonard
SF - Scottie Pippen
PF - Dikembe Mutombo
C - Mark Eaton
I personally think the blocked skyhook could've been 2, but either way, this is a pretty solid list
before clicking on the video i knew who was going to be number 1, so epic
good list
Dee Brown had a sick block of a three pointer and Manute Bol on Jordan are definitely noteworthy.
3:19 Chamberlain vs Abdul-Jabbar Epic!!!!!!!!!!!
Number 1 is the couple block on Kareem made by Wilt THAT WAS AWESOME
Block by James 💪💪
As someone from Indiana, I'm still not over the block by Prince, that blocked turned the whole series around and Pacers could've won the finals that year
Breaking news: The NBA started before the year 2010. Dominique blocking a Knick 20 rows into the stands. MJ blocking the bo-jangles out of Patrick Ewing. Chamberlain and Russell blocking everything in sight (you do get credit for having one Chamberlain block in there), Manu Ginobli blocking a breakaway dunk. Your skewed timeline has placed many unworthy blocks in here.
Glad to see number 1 was James' block.
Amazing list
thanks bro!
lmao I skipped forward once and got right to where I wanted, Ben flooring Shaq.
4:28 "where's michael jordan's two hand block"...
4:31 "oh here it is" xD
