I’ve never known a golden retriever that doesn’t love the water. Every time one is at my pool, they run and leap in…over and over never hitting a child. They are amazing dogs.
Every dog is different. My 2-year-old golden retriever went swimming with us for the first time today and he was terrified of going beyond the first couple of steps into deeper water. He was a rescue dog, but pure bred golden.

Bc Goldens are Retrievers & depending what hunter is looking for, birds, grouse, whatever the Retriever often has to go into water, reeds, grasses. They are amazing at it.

Did you see her eyes in the beginning, her eyes and face said something like this: How mean can you get towards Leon Cesar, you hurting him, force him into anxiety, that was what I got only from seeing her eyes! She didn't like it a bit what Cesar did at the beginning! But then when she took over and Leon did well through her help on the other end of the leash, I think her eyes and mind opened up a bit when she saw the result of it all in the pool!
In every video I've seen of her, she's got that terrified look on her face. It's her expertise. She shouldn't own a dog. Get a pet rock.

Yes but make sure to tie the leash far away from the tail as it can stop the blood flow and then the poison will leak from it's eyes and it will die.

I've had 2 dogs that were scared of water. I started each just like this on very hot days - gentle pressure til they stepped into a lake with water 1/3 of the way up their body height. Then eventually swimming. The first dog I had not tried this for years, thinking he could not swim, and was surprised to learn he could. Both dogs, never really grew to love water, but on really hot days they didn't protest and then after their swims they always were calm, relaxed and happy.

Her emotions are way too high. I hope she learns to hide them completely when with Leon. He needs a calm and confident leader to help him to move forward in his life.

I'm a extreme empath and all the crying i feel all the emotions even the dog's emotions and i also am a canine behaviorest and some days its difficult

The dog shows to the girl that the world is a better place when she can to go on with her life. No shrink could give a better demonstration. I can see she is still greeving , so I feel deeply sorry for her. But she has a helper, that is Leon.

I wish it were as simple as just a fear of pools but no matter what I can do my dog is afraid of all water that isn't for drinking. Anyone know what I can do about it? It's nearly impossible to bathe him or even drop a few drops of water on his back

i feel like they didnt praise the dog enough. When the dog got into the pool or even put a step towards it they shouldve praised him and gave him a treat or atleast say "good" (or whatever your marker word is). Like even when he was fully swimming they didnt let him know he was doing a good thing and didnt encourage the dog at all.

a dog IS actually very similar to a toddler. Also studies have proven that lots of praising when good behaviour occurs is one of the best things to do when training a do. The pool wasnt praise enough because the dog was obviously scared and wasnt able to relax because it was his very first time in the pool.

dogs have been breeded to interact with humans. For example a dog would much rather play with a person than with another dog. You should watch zak george's videos here on youtube. His training is a lot better than Cesar (though cesar usually works with almost uncontrollable dogs).

I know you get emotional sometimes but you don't cry just because your dog doesn't swim with you.
She's crying because Leone was her best friends dog ,who died the year prior... she adopted him and shortly after Leone became anxious and vicious to other dogs and people and bit someone ..and the authorities said if he bit once more time they'd have to take him and possibly euthanize ...so she has trauma from that and she felt the dog did from seeing his owner ,her friend, die...so she was crying with happiness and hope that the dog will be better now(this is the end of a FULL episode where he had previously attacked Cesar's dog and another dog etc and this was the final scene)

He always says this shit about to the energy and letting the dog take the lead which causes the aggression, but I have had dogs that I lead take the lead and all that shit and they were absolutely fucking angels!
He does let his own dogs take the lead sometimes, but with some dogs and owners, it can be a problem. So better safe than sorry, plus you're supposed to be the leader with house dogs.
