I know you guys have time limits on each topic, but I'd love to have more of the "pop a beer and let's talk" night's about topics like this. Even though you're all friends, you each bring a different outlook to these topics and I'd love to just watch/hear you guys ramble for hours (literally) about this stuff without having to move onto the next topic.
I second this!!
Yes sir give us more time no time limit love hearing you guys discuss this stuff
Shannon and Michael it sounds like you were 2 true tour guides, allowing John to experience everything for the first time and have his own unique experience, but also letting him stop once he felt he was done. Props to both of you… Much respect.
Listening to Rocha and Vogel talking back and forth about Thor L&T without devolving into anger or bitterness was nice to see (but that's also probably the influence of 20+ years of friendship) even as Shannon sat and watched (in bemusement?) was great.
One of the things that is unique about Geek Buddies is that you are true friends with history and you can give each other sh*t in the most natural and funny way while talking in detail with depth and knowledge about all the stuff that we're into. Always a highlight of my week!
When you went to Galaxies Edge did you invite honorary Geek Buddy Kristian Harloff. He gets a little testy when he doesn't get the invite there.
People still talk about that
I didn't get to see Phantom Menace in the cinema when it came out, finally saw yesterday.
Was such a fun time, holds up mostly, the pod race sounded amazing. People in the cinema were HYYYYYYYPPED when Maul came on screen.
Jar Jar CGI is kind of Janky which is fine. The miniatures they used for the ships/sets looked amazing.
The movie got an applause at the end, which is rare for a British cinema :D Fun experience, can't wait to see Ep II and III again in the cinema.
Watching Shannon's face when Michael and John are arguing (debating) is hilarious
You can tell they’re tired, I’m pretty sure Rocha and Vogel were on the same side during that Thor argument 😂😂😂
I love that we now have a Disney/ outlaw crossover… So glad that you all were able to enjoy the park and show John around. Excellent show.
Michael - "Simba and Nala gave birth to ...." 😆 Michael, but you do know how birds and the bees work? Do you?🤣😂
John was giving off "Calmer than you are, Dude" vibes from Lebowski at then end of the Thor Discussion I think 😄
*ALRIGHT ALL OF THE GEEK BUDDIES ARE HERE!!!*
Can we get LOTR style Epic Thor?
I think if you read the books and comics, and play the games, Star Wars is just fine. If you just watch movies and maybe some shows, I can see why you’re bummed on it. For me the Darth Vader comics and High Republic novels have been keeping me excited for the brand!
The fact hemsworth was in rush and directors didn't automatically call him up is criminal he is a legit great actor
holy shit I've never agreed more with Vogel and disagreed with Rocha more than on when they argued about Thor ragnarok and Thor Love and Thunder, wow to lay 100% of the blame on Waititi WTF? lol
Being a Star Wars fan and a Tottenham Hotspur fan are similar. Lately I feel embarrassed to be a fan and I don’t enjoy 90% of what I’m seeing but I will always watch and hope it gets better
To me, Hemsworth’s OTT acting became apparent when it felt as silly as the play with Matt Damon, which was actually meant to be a parody.
Mole mannnnnnn?
I can already visualize him wearing those glasses.
Definitely a choice
I have to break my silence, the lion king (new animated?) live action movie was totally fine.
We, as fans, don't need to balance a fucking thing. Lucasfilm does.
Grogu 30 years later?! People, he s a toddler at 50. With the rate he s growing, let's see Grogu 300 years later so he can be at least a teenager....
Hans Mole Man
I dunno love and thunder had serious stuff in it’s well.. Janes dying of cancer, there’s a guy killing gods cuz he lost his faith and misses his daughter. It could’ve spent more time developing that but it was still there
Rocha sounds wiped 😂
I think its totally fair to put most of the blame on Taika for Love & Thunder. He treated it like an indie movie with a barely written script, made every ad-lib most of their lines, shot Crowe doing two different versions of his character and switched up the whole movie again in the edit. He just winged the whole movie and blew nearly $300mil on it. It was irresponsible filmmaking imo.
Also thanks Shannon for not spoiling that Planet of the Apes trailer thing. I skip later trailers because they tend to show too much
Taika Waititi and whoever wrote Thor: Love and Thunder are the ones that need to apologize...
Not Chris Hemsworth!!!
Mole man !
My guess is he's gonna be mole man
SCUTTLEBUTT!!!
Stop it right there.
I think they are misleading us with FF. I think it is in a different universe, Galactus eats Earth, they lose and escape into our universe.
I do agree with this
Sadly Star Wars under Disney feels more miss than hits for me. No interest in Rey and the sequel characters nor storylines in shows trying to connect or improve poor hose lackluster films. Just not the same making Star Wars into something it’s not
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is a train wreck. Meanwhile, the fact Marvel didn’t realize The Falcon & The Winter Soldier should have been about Isaiah Bradley is concerning. Which is a shame because if they leaned into that with a black Captain America that is some great rich story potential.
Nah, it wasn’t that bad
I don't understand the appeal to Thor: Ragnarok, because 20 I thought it was just too silly to me. Don't know whether or not if I was watching a movie or tv show. Thor: love and Thunder went way overboard with the humor. I wasn't surprised about the reactions to Love and Thunder because Marvel saw what they has with Ragnarok and let Taika do whatever he wanted with the next film. I remember Hemsworth even said his kid's friend didn't like the movie because they thought it was too goofy.
Ragnarok was the perfect balance. I’ve watched that 35 times easily because it is that rewatchable.
Nah I agree that Ragnarok was too silly - but I’m a fan of Norse mythology and really want to see a serious Thor
They over corrected with Thor, and honestly it started with Ragnorok. While Ragnorok is very entertaining, it is still not the Thor film that I have been looking for, and since people found the first 2 films boring, marvel studios ran with this guardians of the galaxy circle improv humor. That led to them going completely off the rail in Love and Thunder
Nah, I love Thor in raganarok
Infinity war is the best Thor
I can see that. But, maybe a little unfair b/c Infinity War is just one of the (to me #1) best MCU movies period.
