We need a Top Gear or Grand Tour styled road trip when lockdown is eased, maybe sponsored? The lads buy a car each and drive them to the Nurburgring or something?
This^^^
Now Ethan is more into cars would work better then before
The Mongol Rally!
They've done that a few times before though. There are other tracks in the continent!
yes
“MY WIFE” is definitely a thing
15:30 "I went on the Internet and i found this" *MEMORYS INTENSIFIED*
You've just unlocked a memory i forgot i had
@@adamroose2028 ;)
Thought the same 😂
What Gareth hasn’t realised is now everyone’s gonna just spam his emails with auto trader messages saying mate car still for sale?
Alex's intention intensifies
"Is it an 80s Lamborghini?"
"Yes"
"Is it a Miura?"
That famous 60s Supercar? No, I don't think it is...
@Do One you don’t have to listen to the podcast stop complaining
I was concerned about their general lack of knowledge of Lamborghini history given how few cars they have made! 'is it a 90s Lamborghini?' is the same question as 'is it a Diablo?'.
Gareth is on this podcast so much now i think he deserves to be in the animated intro by now!
yeah, they should make a second version of it for when he appears. As he is in it 9/10 times
I am afraid he will be an occasional guest again when they are able to have other guest on the podcast. 5 people on a podcast is stretching it quite a lot
@@Kuchenblech_Mafioso They def already have Garreth and Alex talking over each other too much with just four. Too similar personalities
no they're just giving him something to do during lockdown, it'll be back to special guests again soon
He's a mong
Gareth: “I prefer taking all badges off the car so nobody know nuffink.” Me: IS HE ESSEX?
Yes. He is the physical embodiment of essex
When talking about sitting in blind spots, you had the perfect opportunity to roast Jack about the Royal mail lorry 😂
Every used car buyer's guide advice for the last 30 years: "When answering an advert ask 'Is the car still for sale?'. This will force car traders to reveal themselves as they won't know which car you mean.".
Gareth: "Hold my M4!"
I love how Gareth calls out Alex when he's chatting shit.
17:09 xD Jack's change in expression was hilarious
Every time I see a new pod cast, I know my next hour of work is gonna fly by.
LS430 was probably the best all round car I ever owned, especially in black for £1500
Talking of badges on cars, the funniest one I saw on the M27 back in the early 90's was a very tidy Mk1 Escort (IIRC) that had the boot badge letters rearranged to spell "scroteE"...
if I've learnt anything from these podcasts, is basically never to listen to Alex for car advice, unless you can double your budget and get something without rust.
40:15 Jack giving someone a proper death stare for quite some time 😂😂
what i hate is when you are in the outside lane, nice gap between car in front cruising overtaking the slow traffic, then the car behind is right up your arse. you move over to let them overtake they then drive 5 mph slower than what you were and constantly on the brakes.
0:39 jack giving the look of "finance deals 🙄"
There are many reasons for Downbadging.. giggles, not being challanged at every traffic light and not being recognised and vandalised. There is a dedicated FB called Downbadged Good Bois
Nah, it is for cheating.
Yes! That blind spot gear grinding is a peeve of my cruise controled commute along the M42 & 40 also
A guy tried returning and moaning about my Astra 2.0 Cdti Sri 33 days after purchase, he’d done 1200 miles and had one speeding ticket in that time, front end had started knocking yet was mint when it left me, turns out they don’t have a leg to stand on after 30 days unless the problem was there weren’t test drove. This was may 2017 so could of changed since then
Bloody predictive text 😡
I’m 16 I don’t take offence to being called a moron, especially when it comes to maths
Lol same, but im 15, i think
@@harveywhite3001 You THINK you're 15?
@@Kay_Emm_ He can’t count so he’s not too sure 😉
@@keelanoconnell3393 Ahhhhh...
@@Kay_Emm_ you got it in the end 🤣👌
Definitely love Gareth and Alex's flirtings... they even wearing matching jumpers!!!
I love watching Gareth being ripped into every episode 🤣🤣🤣
Don't know why but Alex reminds me so much of Stewie Griffin 😂😂 especially when he does the big "oooohhh"
I went to Nurburgring, bought the sticker, came back to NZ and put it on my B5 S4... It was awesome, but def agree with not putting stickers unless you've been to the track.
Ethan’s point about cruise control reminds me so much about the numpties I call “the 68 brigade” who travel on the A1 from Newry to Belfast at 68 mph, so when I’m in cruise control at 70 I overtake them. There are two sections of the road with a 60mph speed limit. When there’s no traffic to overtake I take the cruise control down to 60mph, only to be overtaken again by the same car, still doing 68mph... then when the road goes back to 70mph the process just repeats.... these people must do 68mph regardless of any speed limit signs
Prediction:
Another podcast without UNPOPULAR OPINIOOONS!
Love you videos! Keep it up!
I know Alex has little legs but 17miles in 7 hours is pretty simple 😂
Good call from the Sit Afrikin Gareth on the Lexus for a 3k budget. Something slightly different and a refreshing change from all the kraut dross that A+J keep harping on about.
LS400 is older but a better choice, but older but the absolute pinnacle of engineering at the time. LS430 have a known fault with the integrated radiator / oil cooler
Curdborough track stickers are available for event days, I have a couple from classic car sprint days
It's been great watching the Fitness Worx podcast again.
loving these
If someone is in my blind spot for too long I slightly swerve in my lane towards them (not fast just towards the line) and then they move along
Adding to the Grinds My Gears of this week, people speeding on the M25, then slowing down to 10 MPH below what the speed limits are because of the fixed cameras... Like honestly, just slow down to 75 when you were going 90 before... not down to 60 in the 3rd/4th lane... Or better yet, don't speed
While an listening to this , having my coffee ☕️, while installing my pedal box and DTE systems on my GR Yaris at my garage home this morning. ❤️ entertaining guys 👍
@Do One 😂 It’s morning and I don’t drink it unless it’s non alcohol 🍺 😆😅
Motorcycles have some great stickers, many where sold with race bike liveries which means lots of cigarette advertising.
How slack is the MOT in the UK if they didn't realise the car has the wrong engine installed?
Focus st170 are like £500-1500 all day of the week, great buy!
Ethan, I finally collected all Kanto Pokémon (all Gen1) at last, on Kanto day.. it was a great day :D keep up the great content guys
Is Scotland to far for a new home for the podcast
Isle of Man, please.
I once had a moment on the m25 where I was in lane 1 which was turning off, and this range rover was infront of me, so I couldn't really see around him. Suddenly he sharply, and without indicating, pulls out into lane 2, and i see that about 40-50m ahead of me is traffic at a complete standstill, meaning I have to emergency brake from 70, and the guy behind had to as well (I actually pulled onto the hard shoulder because the guy behind looked like he was going to hit me). So please, if you can see the cars up ahead are stopped, and you dont want to be in that lane, pull out well before, giving those behind you time to stop. I guess if he had been in a smaller car id be able to see ahead of him.
Can we have more videos on the cars being improved / used please
Served Jack in the shop I work in. How many fuses do u need lol sorted u out a little discount. Welcome thanks for content
Love the podcast, however!!! Can you please update the camera quality as it's 2021! xx
it the states down badging is normally called sleepers I've Seen V6 badges on Hellcats lol
@Do One well I should of said challenger because the base model V6 is slow but the supercharged V8 model is the king of roll raceing out on the interstate highway or at least in the northern part of the country I didn't know sleeper was a british term that is pretty cool
@Alex, Monks road? Could this be Lincoln Monks road? Because that was rough.
49:20 you’re discussing cases of fraudulent misrepresentation, if you’re aware of an issue (or should be aware) you must disclose it. Courts will hold this standard high for dealers and lower for individuals. However if you have a major obvious issue, ignoring that issue can leave you liable for a refund. Sold as seen only protects you as long as the obvious issues are pointed out if not investigated you must state the issue is unknown
In regards to the whole sticker conversation, if I went to a festival and bought a tshirt then I would because I went there and experienced it. I wouldn't buy one if I didn't experience it myself so I agree with Gareth.
The thing with down badging a 335d is that the only people that will notice or care will be car people, and car people will know its a 335 from the exhaust arrangement
regarding sold as seen: if you buy a car from someone and either there is an issue they didn't know about or something happens, then you have no recourse. However, if the owner has deliberate misled you then they have misrepresented the car. To deliberately mislead you, the owner must actively lie, rather than omit the truth. So if they know there is an issue it is not deliberately misleading if they don't offer the information up to you. It IS deliberate misleading if you ask "any issues with the car at the moment?" and they lie saying there isn't an issue, then you have some recourse. Always, always, always ask when privately buying a car "any issues whatsoever with the car?". Always, always, always use a contract as the guys describe and always list and known issues you've discussed.
Yes the 3.2 v6 is amazing
On your topic of Cruise Control... you can never have a peaceful journey at 70. You have to go for random numbers. I find 74mph works best, or 63mph. Randomly specific but try it, it works.
I have a greenhouse, would make a cosy set up for the podcast.
Another assumption some people might make of debadged cars is that they might have been in an accident and the body shops didn't replace the badges.
Cheap A6 is not a good idea. Mine breaks consistently on the day after it's been repaired
Everyone in Wales? Sorry Alex, you're wrong! 😝
Totally agree about cruise control, it really does show who can't drive when you use it 😏
Fun fact about downbadging: The king of Sweden (that is the *real* king of Sweden) put 518i badges on his E28 M5 back in the 80's to not annoy the commoners too much.
I agree with Gareth - the Lexus LS 430 is the pick - probably one of the best built cars ever.
Can you please put time stamps on your videos. Thanks
I had no idea HMP Edinburgh was now recruiting in Brazil.
Hi Guys
Have a suggestion for your podcast.
The 20 questions section, you could call one of your listeners and guess the car they own.
They could tell Rory what the car is beforehand so they cannot cheat and you could put a pic of their car in post production.
Not only will it allow you lot to have a competition on who guesses the most but will involve your listeners/watchers too.
This has me thinking about de- badging my 911 so nobody will know it’s a 911. But no stickers!
I have one sticker on my Honda Jazz Mugen - ACE CAFE - I’ve been there but the car has never been there- it seemed to expensive to ship it to the UK just for a sticker. 😃
Only two 80's RWD Lamborghini models? The Jalpa wants a word xD!
I was thinking the same car - assumed he was going to go obscure.
I think a koenigsegg would stump them - never heard them say
“is it Swedish”
Though to be fair any Chinese made vehicle would have the same effect
“ is it a LANDWIND?”
Best track sticker I've seen is m25.
Add Gareth to the jingle sequence at the beginning!
By the time you guys find somewhere else to do the podcast you'll be able to be back in the van 😂
FOR THE LOVE OF HOLY, GIVE THAT GUY SOME SINGING LESSONS!!!
Needs his voice box removed
i like that this could be taken as both an insult and a compliment.
@@Drive-n-Vibe we all love Alex but to hell with his attempts at singing
Blindspot hogs next the a truck with a race car trailer is the absolute bane. Especially when merging onto a freeway and those fuckers go below the speed limit.
when gareth sung broken glass i thought that the original song got edited into the video for a second
Stickers... I have the nurb tattooed on me 👀 is that ok?
February I bought a car off auto trader and deposited 1k for a 7k car worth 8.5k. I felt odd about it and I believed I made a mistake (love harts in my eyes). However it was all genuine and even had car delivered and i paid the remainder upon delivery. Biggest feeling of "what have I done" waved over me but 4 days later I received my valated car. Had no fuel mind but it's on my drive. Still be aware people as scammers are out there, but it do it if it feels right. Make sure you check the seller first.
good work
For people trying to return a car I always make them sign a sold as seen form and never have had a problem
When you sell a used car privately it is important to provide the buyer with a 'sold as seen, tried and approved without guarantee' receipt. ... And you can't use a 'sold as seen' receipt to cover the possibility that the car may be unroadworthy either.
6:55 what you mean used to be a 🛎🔚 hahahahaha
I was hoping the police response after 3 years was going to be: 'its a scam! Don't buy the car!'
I'm 18, any good and reasonable priced first cars, great vids by the way, really enjoy them
MK2 Twingo GT?
Honda jazz 😂👍
27:31 Gareth mentioning some of the 13 bad words
Jack I think I saw you in Eastbourne on Sunday, you still have a grey golf?
Bought a sierra and the thing still had hp lol it been involved with drugs and a murder police wanted to take it but i kept on to the hire purchase company and managed to keep it chucked a rod few years later murdered itself.
I wish Alex wouldn’t do his accent impersonations.
It makes me look like a crazy person on the bus when I crack up laughing whenever he does it 😂
As long as you not driving the bus
at the time,it's all good😉
Interesting effect on Alex’s vocals there.
I've been overtaken by a golden convertible saab, reg plate 'BIG LAD'
Frostbit lad, or go without.
@@DashCamSerbia what?
@@iainmacrae6982 That Frostbit guy. Look him up on youtube. :D
They have “curburgring” stickers already ask the guy with “the keys” ;-).
I often see "Big Boy" in his range rover too.
I hate the blind-spot-hoggers too, but there is a really simple solution: as you see the situation unfolding and the slower vehicle ahead, speed up a couple of mph and pull out ahead of them
When you buy a used car from a private seller there is no right to a refund -it is effectively sold as seen regardless of what has been said.
As for buying from a dealer (normal sale) they have a legal responsibility under consumer contract law, so stating 'sold as seen' does not negate their legal duties (what Jack was saying basically) - however in practice if someone says its sold as seen they are not going to be very receptive to your requests for a return/refund etc meaning the only way to get them to do it is to threaten legal action, which is costly, time consuming and stressful. It's usually only stated about cheaper/older cars which the delaer isnt going to want to make a loss on fixing any potential problems.
At an auction all cars are sold as seen, even if sold by dealers, but for ebay the terms of the auction is that they must be as described, so you can back out if there is anything wrong - but must do so before you part with your money - so ideally check the car before you bid, but if not check the car against the ad when you collect.
I know someone with an igloo but it needs a new roof , no hot water and rising damp.
The police haven’t been working on it for three years it just took them that long to bother looking into it. Meanwhile I imagine many other people fell for the scam.
What do you think about the mg6 gt turbo
I listen to the podcast while driving, love the content but I wish youd start a carthrottle podcast page. It can be a bit difficult to find/change to the next podcast while driving, I'm forever having the pull over. keep up the good work lads.
What the hell, I never remember un-subbing to you
I know the etiquette is to use lane 1 but surely in reality of everyone used the 1st Lane and was going bang on 70 it would be bumper to bumper and noone would be able to get in on the slip road?
Black. 850 T5R Volvo wagon. £1995. Yeah,eight years ago. Shoulda,woulda coulda!
So glad these come out at a regular basis
As a consistent pokemon go player i really love hearing about Ethan playing pokemon go
Totally agree with the lexus.
I agree with once u buy a car and take it home its a done deal. However if on the drive home something was to go wrong with it i would think its acceptable to asked for a return.
A lot of M4s for sale Gareth. Good luck!
