Nancy Gates gave a fantastic performance in this episode, believably running the gamut from suicidal depression to blissful happiness. But the super good performance is that of Gene Barry because he manages to suggest that he is suppressing emotion, holding emotion back. He suggests a necessary tension beneath the seemingly benign exterior. It's truly a remarkable performance.
