Hey Grampa Mack, just wanted to say thanks! My mother in law is a hoarder and since my husband grew up in that environment, he’s a hoarder. He doesn’t want to hoard but he struggles. I’ve learned, through many arguments, to give him certain spaces as HIS. The house is clean and orderly, the garage…..not so much. Here’s where you have helped me. About 3 weeks ago, hubby said “I think I’ll thin out my clothes and donate some to Goodwill”. In the past, I would have jumped on that and nagged the hell out of him. Argument would ensue. This time, I said “sure, whatever you want to do”. I didn’t mention it until this morning. I asked him if he still wanted to donate some clothes. He said yeah and went through his clothes on his own, by himself. I now have 2 garbage bags full of clothes to donate! This may seems like a small amount but trust me it’s HUGE! So thank you Mack. I’ve learned to not push, it just causes anxiety in him. ❤❤❤

I just found your channel today and as a 29 year old autistic guy your videos have given me some hope on a particularly rough day. We share some interests and definitely share all the same intensity and passion.
In so many of your videos I noticed immediately how eager you are to help others and it was so comforting to me. I've been called weird all my life for helping people for no reason, especially strangers. My mom worries about things happening to me because I'm so open to helping and I struggle to know if/when I'm being taken advantage of. It's one thing to know in theory that I'm not the only person like this but it is something else entirely to see a specific, real person like you.
I don't get exposed to many people that remind me of myself who are older than me and doing ok. It scares me a lot to not have many positive examples of where I could find myself in the future once the support I currently rely on is gone. So thank you for your honesty and openness when it comes to who you are. I will absolutely be watching every video from now on. ❤
What a lovely young man you are! I totally get being a mom that worries too. My teenage son is also autistic and I constantly worry about him and how life is going to be for him 🩷
The whole "getting far too into a hobby" is so relatable. I got into crochet last year, and instead of starting with scarves, or baby blankets, or granny squares like most beginners, I decided to make a gigantic 6x7ft blanket, using two very thick yarns at the same time. I loved working on it, and my older sibling was thrilled with their birthday present. It was HEAVY though, let me tell ya! My only limiter to the whole "getting too into a hobby" is that I am also ADD and will very quickly get bored with a hobby if it doesn't have enough going on.

I've been crocheting since I was 5. My GG taught me to keep me busy in the winter. I can do it without looking when I watch TV. Practice makes perfect my friend.
I feel you. I made a huge dragon cake for my sons 5th birthday. Took me 2 days to make it. All carved cake and piped on frosting scales covered in an iridescent sugar spray to make it look like metallic gold/orange. I even set it up to put dry ice in a box underneath so "smoke" would go through a straw and out the dragons mouth. It was absolutely amazing and everyone was shocked because they didn't know I made cakes like that. The thing is, I don't make cakes like that. I have never made anything like that in my life. My previous cake decorating experience basically involved putting little toys figurines on top of the cake. But I got obsessed with the idea of making a dragon cake for his 5th b-day and all the "easy" ones I saw people making online didn't look good to me. So I spent a week obsessively researching cake decorating and then 2 days making it. I loved it. But now that I've done it, I'll never do it again because that obsession is over. (Oh, and I forgot to bring the dry ice to his birthday party location, so no smoke at the party. Gotta love ADHD)
CONGRATULATIONS TO JASON AND THE MOM-TO-BE! My son presented me with my first grandchild 6th May 2023 so he's about to turn 1 in a couple months! Being a grandparent is absolutely the most amazing part of life, Mack, I promise. You get to spoil them, have fun with them, and not have to discipline them and then send them back to mom and dad! Congratulations to your entire family, I wish a healthy baby for you all! My son will be 26 in October, the 23rd...so that's another day the baby could be born....lol

I love how cozy your house is coming along over the past year, it's cool to see how different you and your wife are in interests and ways that you align with each other (in the tiny moments that are featured). I wish Emily great health and that she is past the worst of her health issues. Not only that, but I wish Jason and his partner well in life and getting their house ready for your future wonderful grandkid. Mack, I have no doubt you will do well in life, you are MacGyver levels of badass and nothing stands in your way of success (justly deserved!).

You can have as many televisions as you like. I love the new look. From my experience with cats, they do not like change. However, I bet they love, love their new view by the window. My dad is 83 and he doesn’t need an 85” t.v. Lol.. he has just two t.v.’s, half the size and his t.v.’s are new. But my dad and his wife are hardly home or busy, they don’t want to slow down. But dad watches the news, 60 Minutes, anything news, political stuff.. just like my grandpa did lol. 🤷🏻♀️

At 45 years old, I still love listening to my vinyls of The Monkees. The more I read & listen to their life stories, the more true talent is revealed. I feel they are underrated because most people think they are just a made-for-tv boy band. But they weren't. I'm sad when I realize only Mickey Dolenz is still alive. ❤

Your music collection is an eery combination of my dad and my favorite albums.
Story time. I used to work at a small independent grocery store in high school. There was a guy that came in skinny as a rail that was always dressed in all black. Super nice guy, and we’d always chat as we came through my line. After talking to this guy once or twice a week for over a year, my coworker randomly asked him if he was in a band, since he had that kind of punk rock look. The guy humbly nodded and said “yeah, I play guitar”. My friend followed up to ask what band, and the guy said “it’s a band called everclear.”
My jaw dropped to the floor. It was Davie French. I grew up listening to everclear nonstop with my dad on our annual road trip in the summers. This guy’s music was a core memory of my childhood. And here he was. The nice guy I had hundreds of polite conversations with. I was completely star struck. I let him know how much my dad and I loved his music. He smiled and said thanks, and I flew home after work to tell my dad about my best day at work ever.

I too grew up very poor and finally bought a new 1992 MR2 and it was magical. I hear you about the tool names too! I'm a 68 y/o woman who remodeled houses in my spare time. I have all the gadgets but my tool boxes are not quite as organized as yours. Great video, love the kitties.

"Wandering Jew" will always bring a smile to my face. When my dad died in 2022, I was setting up a celebration of life gathering. I've always loved Wandering Jew plants but hadn't seen them for awhile until the gathering. My friend said, "you need to have these plants because your dad is Jewish... and he wanders..." Made me laugh - to this day, it still does.
I loved how the puppy kept guard while you were cleaning.

My goal was wanted to make my living weaving. I saved and prepared. In 1995. My plan was to take two years off my kitchen job. That was the last year I punched a time clock. I was 45 years old.
I ,with the help of SIU business department, set up me as a legal business. I named my business Weaver's Cottage. Although I started getting social security when I turned 62, I haven't stopped weaving. I am now 72.
I have also been fixing up my home/art studio.
I have learned a ton of things from your channel.
I first thought I would have to get help with my plans to decluter, deep clean, paint, and make it easier for me to live in my place for as long as I can possibly until my death. That is my goal now.
I still weave, cook, maintain the yard and garden. I also have a koi pod I made. I love the fish,frogs, birds,deer, squirrels and other assorted creatures that are out and about my little piece of land and house I call my own.
I am married live alone. My spouse is 85. He decided to move into a elderly retirement community. It's close enough by so I can visit and even stay over a couple of times a week. He has dementia. He is happy at his new place.
It was becoming very difficult and unsafe unsafe for him at home. We sold our house about 5 years ago. I moved into my art studio.
I have been diagnosed with ADHD, PTSD, and depression.
We both know I do enough to take care of myself. With a couple of meds, and therapy I maintain and actually am improving.
I have never really liked house cleaning.
Now, after discovering you and your advice and methods of cleaning, organizing, and maintaining I feel like this is my purpose now. Making my place my Palace.
This has been my afternoon break. Time to continue my job here.
My reward for today's work is weaving and setting out in my garden.

I didn't know my dad but when he passed away he left me his record collection. He had everything, I loved it but had to store it all aty then boyfriends parents house. While they were out of town some punks broke in and thought it would funny to throw the records like frisbees all over the house and smash them on the floors like plates. I was devastated. Congratulations to Jason and family.
I’m so sorry those punks, those losers, were so horrible to your record albums that was from your father. Apparently they never grew up knowing and appreciating records.
Sorry to hear this-that must have been traumatic. I think it would help to track down other copies of your favorites of your dad’s albums to replace them. It helped me when I lost mine.

Most underrated band…. Hands down for me is ‘Clutch’ got a demo tape at a Lunachicks show and went and saw Marilyn Manson at a small venue before he was super big only because Clutch was opening up for him. Dude your art is amazing!!!!

Everclear is like my oldest friend. Man, that band has been with me through the best and the worst times.
You talking about having some kind of goal that feels so far out of reach but represents stamina, endurance, and patience literally made me sob. My lifelong goal is to buy a house, but specifically to buy a house outside of the state I currently live in because I hate it here. Just getting out of here alone feels so far away. I've also grown up with very little money and live very paycheck-to-paycheck. Buying a house at all feels like it's going to take me another decade, let alone buying a house in another state. But this is my dream and I think about it literally every single day. When you said "to me, it means that I'm worthy of escaping that life," I felt that in the deepest parts of my soul. You inspire me so much.

I am the opposite of many of your clients whose house you clean. My OCD makes me have to have everything so clean and neat all the time. My books all have their place, I clean the floor every day, everything is always tidy and I always had and still have this restlessness in me during my depression. I rearrange everything, paint the walls differently, buy new furniture etc... only to do it differently again in two weeks' time.
Your channel is incredibly helpful. Your words: it's your home, set it up the way you feel comfortable, not the way TV shows, Insta, or friends think it should be, have changed a lot. A rethink is taking place in me. You, Jason, Emily and all the people who write nice things are a really big support for me - and for many others. Thank you.

* I enjoy your vocal quality , and use of English. I don’t get tired of hearing your voice-over like I do in many other presenters.
* Thank you for using good description and adjectives instead of defaulting to the overuse of 4-letter words.
* We bought a ceiling mounted projector and use a white wall in the family room. Love the landscapes and safaris and concerts and epic movies on it! A good sound system is important too. So, we have smaller tvs.

I have a similar tool box for my home repairs and really like the organization of my tools, straight screwdriver in one drawer, Phillips in another, pliers in another and so on, so much easier to find things.

I agree about the Pink Floyd album. I own 150 albums, some from the 70's, mostly 80's. My son hated my music in the 80's when he was growing up. When he became a DJ, he primarily played80's music. He was working one weekend when I came back to Denver, Colorado for a visit. He dedicated the night music to me. He told a huge crowd my mom owns all of this music. She was so cool and I never knew it. He made my day! It was a great evening!!! Great video!

Songs I forget I love until I hear them or something trips my memory. You have a Gin Blossoms album. I get them confused at times with another band I can't remember the name of now -- something with alcohol or flowers. Oh, the Wallflowers. One Headlight. He says, "Me and Cinderella."
That makes me remember No Myth by Michael Penn -- princess and prince -- because he says "Romeo in black jeans" I jump to Romeo's Tune by Steve Forbert. One Headlight leads me to the The Way by Fastball -- which is a whole other highway of songs to follow. You know how it goes.

I have two huge pothoses, and I have make a grid of string on my living room ceiling. The vines trail all over it by now, making my living room feel like being under a tree canopy.
That's a lotta tvs lmao. I have a 32inch tv that is 12 years old and I rarely watch it. But I do have 4 large monitors connected to my computer. I'm watching your video on the top-right monitor, I have a twitch stream running on mute on the bottom-right monitor. I'm browsing Twitter on the bottom-left monitor, and chatting to a friend on discord on my top-left monitor. Lol.. we all have our little first world luxuries. I saved up for a long time for this setup and I love it. When my Mum visits she always complains about my little tv with the dead pixels in it, so perhaps I'll buy a new tv someday so she can watch her shows without squinting :)
That record display was very satisfying to watch. And the feet of the 78inch tv fitting exactly perfectly on that bench in your bedroom was exquisite.

My 19 year old tuxedo cat, Stella, hates when we clean. I’ve never had a cat that does this. Usually they just watch. She tells us off. I think it’s the noises she doesn’t like. And don’t move anything around. 😂

Cats should love that spot. i'm now freaking out, as i bought plane tickets for my 19 yr. old granddaughter to come out here on Mar 27 and my house is horrible!!! i'm physically unable to do much, but now have short time to do a lot!! it won't be perfect when she gets here, but is terrible now. i guess will just have to do what i can each day, w/frequent breaks. she's coming out mainly to see the total eclipse. we saw the one in Oregon together, so i'd like us to be together for this one, as well. and, she realized she was between college terms then, so can stay longer. Grandkids are awesome!
