This was fun to watch, crazy to think these decks are 25 years old. I ran a Pokémon club at my school and would offer Pokémon battles to kids for rewards. I only used vintage decks to play as the mechanics are so much more simple.

actually love the bodygaurd themedeck so much sucks that it's so expensive now but luckily buying each card by itself was a quarter of the cost
at 9:16, N would have had to flip a coin for retreating just as much as much for attacking because the old rules state that doing either and getting tails would do 20 damage to the confused pokemon.

I used to play back when that was the rule, but only recently got back into playing and when i went to a tournament i flipped for retreat and my opponent asked what i was doing lol

at 9:00 min in you can't retreat for free you have to flip and get heads and still pay retreat cost regardless...
Oh man it's so awesome seeing these cards in a match again, sure brings back good memories. I wish the game was as fun as it was back then, now it's just go with powerful Basics and win with those meta decks if you've got the money. :(

Flip for that retreat, N! XD (old ruling for retreating while confused.) Reason why switch/scoop up was a 3/4 of in most decks back in the day.

Not so much learn but just hear and see how they play the match. The music was relay loud and was distracting for me. Thanks for the tip though!

I think the music might've been too loud for most people, but I enjoyed it and it was the perfect song. It put a lot of feelings into the battle, just like the old days when you had to fight it out and got cocky most of the time.

Have you ever considered doing a video like this using some of the older world championship decks? It seems like the game wouldn't be as reliant on luck as theme decks are.

Woulda loved this video...but the music just ruined it. I don´t know why so many love putting in music with board games, pack openings, etc...things that are to be enjoyed nice and quiet..I get it can spice things up, but definitely not my cup of tea. Just annoying. and way too loud, if it has to be there it has to be extremely sublte and fitting.
