- First place is a must for my sweet tooth food lovers. The sesames seed bun stuffed with different types of xoi. Loaded with peanut, sugar, and coconut, this warm sweet, treat will make a morning person out of anybody.
Cannot come to Da Lat without trying banh mi xiu mai. This rich fatty broth loaded with cha cay and tender xiu mai make for the perfect thing to stuff inside Da Lat's perfectly crispy banh mi.
Speaking of banh mi, you will want to eat as many as you can while in Da Lat. This place does one of the best banh mi’s I have had in Vietnam. Maybe it is the butter, or the perfect balance of all the ingredients. The way that they all work in harmony.
Chicken and Da Lat, you can’t talk about one without mentioning the other. And for good reason. I am not sure what they are doing to the chickens in Da Lat, but some reason they are the most flavor chickens you will ever have in your life. Da Lats cold weather makes for the perfect place to have a hot pot. Load in that chicken, mushrooms, bamboo, and lemon basil for an ultimate hot pot experience.

I love the way you present Vietnam food. That's lovely.
The purple color in the xôi is actually "lá cẩm", a medicinal herb in Asian cuisine, acting as coloring agent (that beautiful color you saw) and medicinal benefit (treat coughing, stop bleeding wound etc). Vietnamese also have xôi gấc , the red/orange xôi, make from sticky rice with Gấc fruit, really tasty xôi, usually served with roast pork or chả lụa.

Mỗi lần xem video của ông Max, nhìn ông ăn mà tui cứ chảy nước miến. Có lẽ ông chỉ có khuôn mặt với giọng nói của ông là Tây thôi còn tâm hồn và cách ông ăn uống là Việt 100%, món gì của Việt Nam ở đâu, ăn như thế nào, phải thêm cái gì vào chó nó có vị đặc trưng... mà ông còn biết ăn cay, biết ăn mắm tôm nữa, bó tay chấm com luôn.

Vietnamese only use natural food coloring in their xôi; the purple color is from a plant name câm. The orange xôi is from a fruit name gấc. Green color is from pandan leaves. So this is Dalat :).

maybe u should ask your friend about “Ha Cao Tran Le” ( Tran Le Dimsum). Dimsum of this restaurant is wonderful, they also have noodle chicken....So delicious !
