So funny fact: there is a card in Gwent that is called cow. It has zero attack power however when it dies or the round ends a new monster card is put in its place that has an attack power of 8... Which is the enemy that shows up when you kill the cows.
Do you know where you can get the card?
@@mr.paperbag771 it's from Hearts of Stone dlc, when you have to go on a wedding with Shani.
It's located on the 2nd floor of the barn, on a table.
I found that card but I never understood it
I do remember it also i remember about it was changing to chorr in round ending am i wrong?
what level is the chort? Can i go back and kill it myself as a level 15?
That cow patch was actually called 'the bovine defense initiative'
Theres a 0 attack point Gwent card called Cow that turns into the Bovine Defense force at the beginning of the second round if you place it during the first round. You can find it in Hearts of Stone.
@@Chris6068 yh I use that card... Its a good one
@L1qu1d S1lenc3r no it only come once then the chort is gone and cows in that sport are also gone
It's more of an Avengers Initiative, though. Wait, that name is already taken.
@@Chris6068
Where can I get the cow gwent(bovine defense force) card ?
"It's rainin', it's pourin', Emp'ror Emhyr is snorin', he bumped his head when he went to bed, and he wet himself come mornin'!"
Thats how you deal with an exploit. You don’t nerf the exploit like most devs, you spawn an OP demon from hell.
until ppl find another exploit to deal with it by lure it to that watch tower.
I love cd projekt red
@@shikniwho7215 yeah but its still an unreasable amount of time to do that, and you still have to evade its attacks or youll die one shot, so it cuts the farm bc you have to deal with the thing in the first place, then if you decide to kill it its gonna take even more time, and if you do it you get a minor reward, but your not getting a shit ton of coin now, so problem was still fixed
@@shikniwho7215 at that point you kinda deserve the 42 crowns from the hide.. like youve spent 20 mins killing an OP monster
The cows doesn't respawn after killing the Chort...
Just started this game today for the first time....I can’t believe I’ve never played it,It’s so damn good!
Same here but I was planning on playing it way before the series came out
say goodbye to 300 hours of your life lol
@@auggie2297 it's k good game to play on lockdown
I started 2 months ago got that sweet deal on PSN and I got Days gone for under 36 bucks for both. Haven't even gotten to Days yet. So much Witcher left and I'm finally getting good at it. Love this game!!!
I decided i wanted to restart the game when i let ciri go and never saw her again 😕😂
Who else replaying Witcher 3 after watching the new series on Netflix?
going to play it for the first time later this evening
My wife plays constantly. She has a few different builds going.
@@budycelyn You're in for a treat.
Just got three months of Xbox gamepass ultimate for a buck and downloaded it immediately so me
Waiting for it to redownload now
To everyone asking about the crows skull. After defeating the ghouls with Vesemir at the start of the quest Lilac and Gooseberries, Geralt can pick up the skull near where the witchers made camp for the night. He comments that it was most likely left behind by Yennefer. Picking it up grants 50Tw3 icon xp. If it is not picked up, the skull disappears from the ground after completion of the quest The Beast of White Orchard.
That's why I couldn't see it after I complete literally all main quests and DLCs and still couldn't find it when I returned, oops.
I can't pick it up
I can
I love it how after 5 years Witcher videos are coming back on CZcams 😂👍
Filip G and banging views too
I’m assuming it’s because it’s just been released on Switch..
@@leethomas7659 netflix i whould say
It's a great series. Loved Witcher 1 and 2 was fine.
Luckily Netflix saved the lazy people who haven't heard of this gem franchise 👍
because have time to play
There's a hidden detail if you saved the girl from the medic. When you go to Velen at South-East there's a military camp, and her boyfriend will thank you personally. (Managed to saw that in the first trail)
He doesn't really thank you, he did yes but soon after he blames you for not letting her die, because the potion that geralt gives damaged her brain and she can't talk anymore.
@@patito8728 being Witcher is hard.
@@patito8728 so I made the right choice by letting her die then?
@Schrodinger's Kyrat ah precisely
@@Christian-oi7sd it counts as a failed quest so no
Playing the Witcher 3 while watching the show life is good
Show inspired me to play it again. Best game of the decade for me!
Simon S facts no other RPG can top it for me
@@flyboyarch6776 you should check out kingdom come its not as good obviously but its one of my top RPGs as well
@@makaveli3 yeah I love Kingdom Come Deliverance
Indeed brother... Indeed. And too short
That's why CD Project red are the best hope there will be a witcher 4 now a new deal has been made
There's indeed going to be another Witcher game - that's been confirmed a long while back. But, Geralt is finished. It could possibly be called the Witcher 4, but it's going to have a new MC and I expect some changes.
@@vgnvideogameninja2930 I think it would be cool if in the next game we get to make our own character or at least customize them in greater detail
@@vgnvideogameninja2930 I'd love a witcher game centered on a int-training witcher at witcher school. Whether it's a prequel, Emyr brings back the viper school like he promised, or Ciri and Geralt make a new school.
If there is a new game we will play a Ciri calling it now and she’ll have all new powers.
If there is another witcher game it's not coming out anytime soon
I love seeing all the new fans of the game! I remember beating it 5 years back and it still stands as best 5 games I have ever played.
Just started a couple days ago and gotta day this is my new favorite game. Doing it on death march is actually a big challenge which I love.
@@Oi-bg9bc Easy, NieR: Automata, Prey, Bloodborne, Hotline miami.
What are the other 4?
The biggest power move I have ever done in a video game was actually right after they released the Bovine Defense Force. I’ll admit I did farm cows (pearls as well) in my first play through. When they released that update I had to go see what it was like but at that point I was already a higher level than the Chort so I began farming them. Interestingly when you kill one of them another runs in to take its place so they inadvertently made a high level money maker. 🤣
where/how do you farm pearls??
@@bernhardbadenhorst3325 it’s since been patched but it had to do with the shells you could dismantle them to get pearls so you just bought all of them that you could dismantle them into pearls and sell for a profit.
🤗 thanks, didn't know pearls come from dismantling shells.
The part with the cows and the chort is actually kind of hinted towards if you collect the gwent card in the barn in which the wedding is held in Brunwich (Hearts of Stone DLC). The card is of a cow, and after removed from the deck/game (basically "killed"), it turns into a chort, just like with the cows in white orchard. At least I think that this is some sort of hint towards the hidden detail :)
Originally I think the tschort didn't have loot and if u killed him there would just spawn a new one on infinite loop
what level is the chort? Can i go back and kill it myself as a level 15?
Kevin Rivera He matches your level!
May also want to start checking fallen trees and hollow stumps, like the one at the first campsite, across the dirt trail. usually it has hidden money in it.
Shawn Vermaak Yeah I found that while looking for the crystal skull which I still can't find :/
@@chocolatefudgebrowni3225 lol, its on the right hand side of the path as you walk towards Vezemir "think he is allready on his horse at this point" , use your witcher senses as you do so, its about 45 degrees to the right of the tree you slept on in the cut scene, if you look toward Vezemir.
@@chocolatefudgebrowni3225 it has to be your first game, not NG+
Ahmed Mehmood I'm still on my first playthrough, apparently it despawns after you finish the quest when you kill the griffin in White Orchard
@@chocolatefudgebrowni3225 oh well
I swear this is the best rpg ever. CDPR did a fantastic (and that word still sells it short) job with the quests and stories of this game not to mention the combat and looks of the world and characters. And the music phenomenal. I've finished this game 8 times and I swear I always find something new.
That spy with the monocle is in Witcher 3, he's part of the assassination quest line.
Yea he is alive, so this spy is just another random nobody dead NPC corpse.
The spy was just a nobody..haha..
You also get the Geralt of Rivia hero card +15 from Thaler if you beat him in Gwent. Pretty easy actually
@@ryedjinn4284 Nobody by day, spy by night. That's what Thaler like people to think of him.
Also if anyone think he just a random npc then they clearly haven't play Witcher 1.
Yes, That's right. Thaler is alive and part of said later quest. Therefor he must have been the second man in the Cabin that night and was the 1 who came out alone. But, I expected that Thaler would be missing his Monocle when we meet up with him later on. However, He is wearing a monocle when we find him. So, He must have got a new 1 or had an extra. Which sort of makes it pointless that there was a monocle on the ground for us to pick up. If the purpose was just to leave a clue for us that Thaler was in that Cabin & in the game. The could have easily just included a line of dialogue where Geralt maybe; Recognizes a phrase used in the letter or perhaps he recognizes the hand writing. Or my preference would be: That Thaler would just appear in our 1st first encounter without his Monocle and then have us return the monocle to him. Letting him know we saw the other dead spy & we know he's been up to some spy shenanigans.
Frying pan quest was great hahaha. I loved it.
Honestly I thought everyone grabbed the crows head... I got it on my first playthrough and held it for the whole game waiting to uncover its significance.
I picked it up during my first playthrough as well, gave it to Yen during the meeting at Vizima.
i can’t fuckin find it.. i’m standing right where he says it is on new g+
@@anthonypete7916 it's only available in the beginning of the game
@@anthonypete7916 me too lol im NG+ deathmarch and im like what? I missed something ! Watching that video opening again I facepalmed so hard its obviously there for you to pick up lol.
I didn't but I'll be going back for it now lol I'm actually playing through it for the first time right now, I bought it along with both expansions because it was on offer before the series came out so it was damn good timing haha im just at the Isle of Mists at the moment
Fun supplementary fact. The Chort, which appears after you kill the cows, is referred to as the Bowvine Defender in a gwent card. I believe you need to have the heart of stone expansion. It can be found at the wedding.
First time playing it! I actually was lucky enough to stumble upon the trinket during my meandering and exploring! I thought it may have been randomly generated in a location, but wow.
Re-playing Witcher3 because of this video. Thanks for re-igniting my interest. Played it once when it came out and absolutely loved this game. Keep making the Witcher3 videos.
*The cow trick is still there but in the form of pigs, forgot the area but there is a farm where you can kill about 4 pigs, walk away a couple feet and they spawn right back, no need to meditate, tried it on the Switch and it is still not patched to this day.*
Oh wow thanks for telling us, I had no idea about this one!
@@ESOdanny its actually upper mill(hearts of stone enchanter)
the cows still work as well. just did it on xbox today:)
If you go to Martine Feuilles Farmstead there is a field with 10 plus cows you can do it there to make easy money.
You can still farm cows, just not in white orchard
1.) The details with the cut of fingers go on. In Velen, you can listen to a discussion between a father and his son, that he want´s to cut of his thump, so that he does not need to join the army.
Owhh I did not know this, that's really cool!
The locaton was in Ursten. In front of the last house.
Still the best game made to date. Haven't played for 2 years, but will start again today. Enjoyed your video very much and look forward to more on the Witcher 3. Merry Xmas and happy new year to you and yours. Well done. Cheers, Harry.
That chort respawns after killing one...i cant even finish my quest where u talk to vezemir because he keeps attacking the chort and if u do manage to kill it, it keeps respawning.
If you leave and wait a while it despawns and yes I've done it took waiting days
One of my favorite easter eggs in the game is the Pulp Fiction reference in the Bloody Barons basement. The 2 soliders talk about getting the gimp, and him being asleep, to which the other replies well I guess we'll have to wake him up now won't we. 🤣🤣🤣
And Geralt says: "Zed's dead" in some side quest I think
I laughed out loud (really loudly) when I heard the guards discussing that, and my 11 year old asks me why I am laughing so I start explaining and half way thru I realise the type of ground I am about to cover, the medieval sexual shit I am about to have to justify, and I was shitting myself/ laughing/ cringing and beat a hasty retreat.... 🤣🤦🤣🤦
Or the star wars reference, in Skellige there's a bounty hunter named Djenge Frett. 🤣🤣
@@adammenhennett lol
I believe they’re talking about Uma dude, not a Pulp Fiction reference.
I could be wrong though . . besides, yours is cooler!
Really good video, one critique since it happens to me a lot too when I record, during the 3 fingered soldier fact, there is a part where you are about as loud as the game and that made it difficult to hear you. Again, great video; I'm excited to see your next one
I know your comment is over a year old but when I read it I realized how rare respectful, constructive criticism is on CZcams and social media in general nowadays. Your comment was very refreshing, keep it up!
I'm playing this for the first time because of your videos and I am loving it! Really looking forward to more of these! ☺️
I’ve played 40 hours of Witcher 3 over the last 2 weeks- my first play through and it’s an amazing game! I’m glad you’re playing it too!
I feel bad now... I didnt reach the two soldiers in the shack, I didnt even know about them! Gonna "go back in time" to an old save if it's still there, do the quest, load up current save and just pretend that they lived happily. :((
Weird
On my first playthrough and I picked up on all these details! 👍🏼 Didn't go to check on the enemy soldiers though after suggesting they take him in but fully expected that detail to be in the game tbh. I did however think there would be more to the frying pan theif quest, perhaps being able to track the other one down
Hey! You missed a detail about #4! If you find the cabin BEFORE talking to Dune, the brother will still be rescued, but when you return to the cabin later, you’ll find out he only rescued himself and left Rhosyn behind to die by himself. What sucks about this is that the cabin is VERY close to the start of the game, so if you do some early exploring right off the bat, such as looting as the dead soldiers for extra gold early, you may happen upon the cabin unintentionally. As soon as you step foot in the cabin then, the Nilfgaardian is scripted to die. You can’t run to Dune to tell him because the quest will already be over.
Im so glad you are picking up this game i have over 300hrs and i still find stuff to do
8:41, are you trying to play with my conscience now and save the brothers? XD
Watched the show then finally got the Witcher 3 and I’m so glad I played it it’s probably one of the best games I’ve ever played , and bless up to you eso this video was super helpful
I use to use your channel for Skyrim and fallout and glad to see new content for new witcher user. If it's revised it's still great content from you ESO. Keep up the good work. And I also re-download The Witcher 3. I never beat it but the new update corrupted my save data and had to start all over.
Hope everyone who sees this has a great day. :)
Thanks that just improved my day :)
chaos thou art most welcome friend.
Long days and pleasant nights to you
pizza 4breakfast same to you!
And to you kind sir!
Thanks so much for doing this series!!! I'm on my 3rd play through and missed the troll!!
I’ve always wanted to play this game just knew I was getting into a lot and I just started and I can’t believe how in depth and how vast this game is. It’s absolutely overwhelming!
Ive been wanting you to do this series foreverrrrr
That raven skull was the first thing I looked for just to see if it was there....I was pleasantly surprised!
I can't find it...
Excellent video. Presentation and information smoothly integrated. I was informed and entertained. Bravo.
I had no idea of these things. I'm going to have to go back for them. I really am thinking about just dropping on my progress and starting over. I haven't done that much. I'll be watching your videos for more secrets and tips. Thank you so much
That third choice in the mission missing in action, was introduced earlier in the witcher 1 in which you have to clear a path for some folk, but if you don't do it then all those people will be gone for the rest of the game and the person who gave you the quest will be angry at you, because you let them die.
Argument against the last easter egg about Thaler: we can encounter him later in the game (not sure if that's a decision dependent character meeting though)
he's not the dead guy, he's the guy who killed him.
You always make great content relevant to games I am playing/replaying. Keep it up!
I am so glad your doing this series it's so hard to find good witcher 3 videos
Initially I was hesitant in buying Witcher 3, since I prefer graphics over gameplay, but then I saw The Witcher on Netflix in 2019 & felt the urge for more from the lore. I bought this game in February 2020 & I am so surprised that why didn’t I buy this back in 2015. This game truly defines the generation of single player story driven gaming. The battle of Kaer Morhen mission is a Masterpiece, never ever seen before in any other game.
I had just played Skyrim in 2015 and got this for Christmas. It was like a next gen Skyrim. But it's looking old now. Wish there was a 2023 version of an RPG as good as these.
@@Blackdog4818I tried skyrim just few months back on series S game pass. Don’t know but combat felt clunky & visually unappealing. Stopped the game after 30 mins. Maybe I am not a fan of Bethesda rpg formula
Skyrim has some good missions, but the beginning, like Witcher 3, is a slog to get through. And it is OLD with lots of browns and greys. I just played Assassin's Creed for the last two years, "Origin", "Odyssey" and "Valhalla" and the game play was faster. In Witcher you have to click on two buttons to make your horse go, in AC you just pressed the stick forward and you were galloping. You really have to press a lot of buttons in Witcher 3 to move around.
who else noticed the crystal skull on their first playthrough!
I never noticed it in my 4th playthrough.
I’m currently doing my 7th and I’m hearing about it just now!!
Already know that its gonna be an epic video! Love your vids ESO!
Hey Eso are you planning to do some Witcher 3 build videos? I love watching and actually using some of your Skyrim builds and weapon locations. Thank you for everything man.
YEEEEEEEESSS!!! I LOVE THIS GAME SO MUCH! THANK YOU ESO
6:46
ESO: If that's not attention to detail, I don't know what is.
Red Dead Redemption 2: *Laughs in Horse Scrotum.*
How many years difference between the game 🤣
Damn I was hoping you had a few starter guides for each area. You're thorough, we first timers appreciate it!
So glad you’re doing this as I just got Witcher 3 for my Switch! 👍👍👍
I have the switch version loving the game I was killing the cows but I'm new and had no idea I can sell something worth that much and meditate and repeat wow awesomely game also done those side quest you show in the video I'm going to do all side quest this game is very huge
One of the notice boards in White Orchard (I forget which, unfortunately), complains about a deserter soldier named Odrin, who is described as a drunkard who consumed an insane amount of supplies in a short time. You'll remember Odrin from Witcher 2 if you played Roche's path...specifically, you'll have burned into your brain the drunken calls of his comrades looking for him.
I’ve beat this game twice and played it at least five times from the beginning and didn’t know about any of these! This is incredible thank you as this is my favorite game
You’re channel is awesome. Thank you. Good sir.
Im so fucking happy that you are doing video about Witcher 3! Keep up the good work
YAAAAAAY I started this when I started watching ur page
You ara the great guide. İt is good to see you with withcher after that all skyrim adventures. I will explore your witcher 3 videos now.
Just started a new playthrough of W3 yesterday. This should come in handy
7:43 thats the Case with ALOT of Quest and choices
This is my first play thru on it, because of netflix, I have no idea why I didn't play when it came out
I envy you so much
I bought it when it was on sale awhile ago (all dlcs) but just started my first playthrough as well.
Boy are you in for a good time
Because you're a casual or a fake fan. Take your pick.
I got the game 2 days ago and now I am at the skellige mission. All I can say for this game is MASTERPIECE! I hate myself for not playing it early.
Awesome video. Thank you
Nice video, Thanks mate.
I'm so mad. I missed the quest to look for the brother because I was still a noob and was still trying to figure out how to play the game. I moved on to the next map and when I came back to see if I can do the quest, the guy with the dog isn't sitting there.
Right! That’s it I am going to start playing again.
Great details. Thank you for the video. Great job.
Nice work love videos like this!! The Witcher 3 is such a great game glad to see u doing a play through on it @ESO
Bernard is still alive in the Hearts of Stone DLC though? Unless Hearts of Stone was meant to be set before these events.
yes, he is the one who rode off, not the one who is dead
The creativity and attention to detail of CD Projekt Red just makes me love them more
CD Projekt Red & Remedy are the gods of detail in games
Great stuff ESO, thank you!!!
I downloaded W3 to my PS4 almost a year ago .. and I just let it lie ... played it a bit just to see them put it down .. I picked it up a few days ago and now I’m really enjoying it . I’m still way in the beginning and I just got to Skelige.. the deeper you go the more addictive it gets .. spent 10 hours on W3 yesterday .. thanks for these vids .. I watch your vids as I go along but I don’t watch EVERYTHING ( for surprise and anti spoiler effect ) ..
Thank you for all the content it’s of great help ...
Best hidden detail I've found so far in the Witcher 3 is when you start playing Blood and Wine. Dulcinea's mill. Loved it.
For those who don't get it, look up "Don Quijote & Sancho Panza" by Miguel de Cervantes
You can actually pick the raven skull up right after you’re ambushed by ghouls at the camp fire 😁
Thank you for this, quite fun this is..just started playing
Going to go back to the hut for the monocle. Love the Thaler reference. I missed that one.
I’m the next videos, can u talk about leveling up swords and upgrading armor. Can you also talk about crafting armor and equipment that is too high of a level
I mean it’s pretty simple, find the diagrams build it. To build enhanced you need to have the normal set built, the same for superior and so on. If it’s too high of a level... level up
I am playing the game for the first time. After watching Netflix!
Any update? I just finish the base game for the first time. Now im on DLC.. i love the game ^^
🤯amazing! I'm going to play it again! Thank you❤
Just love how you started playing witcher 3 again about the same time i did. Can't wait until you find something i might have missed. :D
Man, I though this would be really obvious, but I only knew the Cow-Beast, thanks for this!
I'm amazed how long this game is. I dont even know how many hours. , I'm on the last part of the main story but haven't got but 10% explored.
I played 125h so far and still have some quest to do so yea, its really amazing
Make sure to get the 2 dlc of witcher. Its really worth it to play those dlcs.
This is THE best RPG that I have played (I've played lots since 1986) Thanks for a great channel
Great video. I would add the Florian grave to that list though...
I missed the crystal skull

AgentFire yeah just dodge, quen and strike
I missed the crystal skull twice :3
Amateur, i missed it on all my 4 playthroughs :D
Thalers monocle can actually be returned to Thaler much later in the game, and there is even a brief scripted conversation. IF, you get the mod that someone made to fix the small oversight by CDPR. Another small mod which is more useful fixes an issue where two different Herbs point to the same image in the code. "Han" and "Arenaria" specifically. Arenaria is an important/often-used ingredient for potions and decoctions that you will find to be not so rare anymore.
Thanks for this tips
