While I was reading philosopher’s stone I tought Hermione would be with harry. When it came to chamber of secrets I started having doubts. But when it comes to prisoner of Azkaban, I was already pretty sure that Hermione fancied Ron. It wasn’t clear but I think she started feeling something for him in that book not only in book6

I think that it's a little insulting to refer to Ginny as simply a love interest. Her character is much more than that, at least in the books.

Ginny was a much better character in Chamber of Secrets which she was hardly in than any other book. That's the sad part.
Ginny never was a pivotal character central to the story. Except in the Chamber of Secrets she's always on the side for most of the journey. I mean she doesn't help in destroying Horcruxes or give Harry an emotional backing, which is done by Ron and Hermione. She's just thrust at us in the end as Harry's girlfriend. It feels a bit too forced. That's why a lot of people hate Ginny and the fact that she becomes Harry's wife in the end.

I actually enjoy the books more than the movies,cuz books are like fields of open imagination and you can think up so many different hairstyles or appearances for each and every character and it just feels welcoming in your very own, made-up Harry Potter world(in my opinion that is, most of the people I know just tend to watch the movies than knowing the more fascinating details in the books).
