  • With the amount of great assassins creed missions there are in the series, there’s of course going to be quite a few missions that are not as great. I’ve made a video highlighting my favorite mission from each mainline assassin’s creed game and now if you can’t tell by now, it’s time to do the complete opposite and talk about my least favorite mission. I must say that this is purely my opinion, it’s okay to disagree. I like seeing friendly discussions in the comments below.

Assassin's Creed is an open-world, action-adventure, and stealth game franchise published by Ubisoft and developed mainly by its studio Ubisoft Montreal using the game engine Anvil and its more advanced derivatives. Created by Patrice Désilets, Jade Raymond, and Corey May, the Assassin's Creed video game series depicts a fictional millennia-old struggle between the Order of Assassins, who fight for peace and free will, and the Knights Templar, who desire peace through order and control. The series features historical fiction, science fiction, and fictional characters intertwined with real-world historical events and historical figures. In most games, players control a historical Assassin while also playing as an Assassin Initiate or someone caught in the Assassin-Templar conflict in the present-day framing story. Considered a spiritual successor to the Prince of Persia series, Assassin's Creed took inspiration from the novel Alamut by the Slovenian writer Vladimir Bartol, based on the historical Hashashin sect of the medieval Middle East.

And I absolutley do not look forward to replaying through the tank and bomber missions without getting hit. • @fakjbf3129
    @fakjbf3129 Před 10 měsíci +748

In AC3 there’s the naval mission “The Giant and the Storm”. It’s a pretty standard naval mission of go in and sink some ships, it’s actually really easy especially if you’ve upgraded your ships. That is unless you are trying to get 100% synchronization, in which case your upgrades will be working against you! The optional objective is to use the swivel cannon to blow up the ships using weak points, but if you upgraded your damage then you’ll sink the ships before any weak points are opened up. The only way to get the full sync at that point is to intentionally aim to the side of the ships so only some of your cannon balls hit and hope you get just enough damage to make a weak point but not sink the enemy entirely. Oh and did I mention there are three ships and you have to sink each of them this way? So if even one of your shots is too powerful you have to start the mission over again from scratch.

Coming from having 100% brotherhood 4 months ago, you can actually cheese the tank mission by simply playing patient, and in the final area you can actually kill all the enemies/towers without actually entering the area with proper play. Its frustrating but you'll achieve it! The hardest and most frustrating mission was Young at Heart as it is literally luck determined, based on how accurate the archers are or if Ezio actually wants to cooperate with your inputs, you'll just randomly get a good run for the 100% sync.

The way the guy runs is outrageous, I cannot believe that got into the game. After the first time I instead just dropped down early so I could tackle him on his way back, since even though he sprints fast he can't climb as quick, it's hard for him to get the flag off you after that.

Recently I picked up AC II again after a large hiatus. Bought it more than 10 years ago in a combo pack with AC Brotherhood. I have a love/hate relationship with the game. I love the setting and quite a bit of the story (modern day stuff bores me to death, though), combat is okay (nothing too fancy but quite enjoyable), but the parkour... it feels very clunky to me. I can imagine that for most people it's alright, but as someone who played basically every (Ubisoft) Prince of Persia game, it feels like a huge downgrade. It just doesn't feel as smooth, which makes things like the tombs less fun than they should be for me. Basically, I can see why many people adore this game, but I have more mixed feelings about it.
Anyway, like I said, I picked it up again recently, and coincidentally the first mission I played after coming back to the game (in about 4 or 5 years) was the festival mission. Suffice to say, that it isn't the greatest mission to come back to after a long time... After almost eating my controller out of frustration, I eventually did exactly the same thing as you mentioned, and that worked immediately. But my God, what a terrible mission that is.

Hey, love your videos as always!
in AC valhalla the anomalies missions were one of my favourites to be honest, I loved the parkour puzzles, when you mentionned the revelations modern world segments, I didn't like them either in terms of gameplay, the history of Desomnd was fun, but if they were like in valhalla I would have enjoyed them more. Also liked the idea of AR style the platforms prjected onto the Valhalla world looked cool for me. - And the video reward at the end was satisfying for me. :) ( what I did not like was the AC unity rifts... broke immersion for me a lot)
Overall in the whole series I enjoyed modern day parts best presented in valhalla honestly,

It’s actually a test of how well you were doing parkour in general, because the collision detection and everything is the same as other posts and objects in the game. If you were landing correctly on the rooftops without just missing and dropping down, then you’d do so just as well here. The only real hiccup is enemies, so you need to try for total stealth so as to avoid getting pushed.
I think it was all by design. You had two challenges to choose from, a combat challenge if you approached the boat from the front, and a parkour challenge if going from the back. The only other target that had such a clear difference in routes was William of Montferrat. For practically every other target, the stealthy approach and the direct approach weren’t too different overall, just different in duration.

Even if you are super patient and precise, you can still wind up in the water in certain routes 😂. I beat this missions recently and determined the route I was trying to take was just broken and only succeeded after trying a different way

With that hand you can touch and move people, throw, run and push, and grab the ledges. Grabbing the leddges in this mission is very useful. Just even try to use that move in your parkour, you will see how easier game become. And at Sibrand you already have gloves to grab

The anomalies could be a bit inconsistent which were frustrating at times but I still enjoyed the parkour puzzles (not so much the light redirection ones). Oh and I loved the little cutscenes at the end of what happened to the isu/gods. I found it quite interesting and I was super invested. Oh man, I love seeing a fellow Valhalla fan in the comments..I'm doing another playthrough now 2 years after finishing my giant first one. Something about that game just hits home. If it just had better parkour, stealth systems, NPC animations/design and armors that looked more like stuff you'd see on a medieval TV show that's like Vikings or Game of Thrones instead of really Uber-World of Warcraft looking stuff in the endgame I'd love it even more immensely.
Eivor is such an underrated protagonist. I love that the whole game eventually leads to you realizing that you're actually playing the role of a mortal Odin..wandering, being a poet, warrior, and helping random strangers only to wander off into the wilds again in search of adventure and wisdom. I actually thought it was challenging to parkour yourself over water, but maybe that’s just me. For me the most frustrating mission in AC2 was the one with the flying machine. If you crashed, which often, you would have to rewatch the same cutscene again and again and that was just tedious. In AC3 the blackpowder one for me was at first more tedious. However I found out a way where the right boat can be blown up so easily. You quickly run across from the middle of the ship, ignite it and jump out. You just have to make the timing right and swim to the back, so the guards can’t initially see you. I also found hunting the bobcat was annoying who goes in circles.

The Writhing Dread definitely works better when you have a long range strategy and the feature the game has of being able to craft arrows even when combat makes it much easier. The atmosphere of the lead up works for the creature, you’re going through an area even your skills like climbing anything and seeing through Ikaros don’t work, and there’s such a sense of foreboding you don’t want an easy fight at the end of it.
A more unfair mythological fight is the Minotaur. The missions leading up to it are lower level than the actual recommended minimum level you fight the beast and it’s a much smaller arena too.

With Rogue, there was an exploitable glitch to avoid having to defeat the SF yet still get the trophy, although you don't get the special outfit. The glitch still worked in the remaster to.
Not sure if your pick from Origins really counts since you state you're playing on the highest difficulty. The RPG elements of the last three games create a different kind of challenge, one which can easily be mitigated by simply lowering the difficulty, something that's not an option in the earlier games

In Valhalla, I found the cairns and the anomalies very straight forward. I got plenty of them first try. The mission that had me tearing my own hair out was the Odin's mine hideout trial of the wolf. Killing all but 2 enemies by hitting their weak spot and then using a headshot took me 2 days.

The ac2 boat assassination without being detected is really close to that flag mission in term of how annoying they are haha

unity's mission where you have to keep elise undetected during some guy's speech was tough too, for some reason the enemy AI glitched and somehow never saw her even when they were right next to her lmao

The tournament was my favourite co-op mission in Unity. During the fight I would always just go up to the enemies standing by one of the flags and if you held Circle or B, youd be able to knock out the enemies before the fight even starts

In ac4 I particularly hated the mission where you have to get the chest with the blood vials for Roberts. All the way from stealing a Portugese flag to assassinating the captain of the man o war. The problem is that detection fails the mission (or fails the 100% completion). And the enmies have crazy detection vertically on the ship and in the water as you're swimming to land WHILE it's night time mind you. In ac3 I had the same issue when I had to take out the 2 ships shooting at the city, right before doing the mission to assassinate Pitcaim at Bunker Hill.

Blowing up those 2 ships took me probably 20 attempts. Once I learned the pattern of the left ship it's alright but you need to kill all of the guards before air assassinating the heavy guard. Plus the right ship you can actually leave 2 sets of guards alive and just light the fuse while walking.

For ac2, I just go towards the guy's base on the third round. He climbs a ladder up there and you can just punch him when he climbs up.

Bruh I can agree on every mission you mentioned to be a pain in the arse except the ac4 and storm fortress. I have a lot of patience so the mission was enjoyable and in Rogue after completely upgrading the ship the naval missions felt too easy so the Storm fortress really provided a tough challenge and I really enjoy naval battles. Oh and I gave up on lighting up the powder kegs in ac3 after 15 tries.

the boat tailing one in BF was the worst one for me in that game for the game during it decided to start falling apart with the image frezing while, based on sounds, edward was still able to move around, forcing me to hop into the Settings part of the menu,or directly to folders and do some tweaking
oh and i actually enjoyed the glitch puzzles in valhalla, since i was like 100%ing the regions (getting all Artifacts,Wealths and "solving" every Mystery) when i entered the regions with the last puzzle completed revealing me a True ending tens of hours before the actual game did with its mythological counterpart

I only just began playing AC1 and the assassination of Sibrand personally felt like the most unique and fun mission up to that point of the game, being on the docks of course... making one wrong move in AC1 can be your death and it's almost always your own fault and not the fault of level design, etc. You could argue the mission following that one is worse just because you have to deal with an annoying amount of guards while trying to finish your assassination. It's really just all up to your skills and how they carry you through the game.

I had no issues with Medusa. Once I learned her pattern it was over. And I used my abilities to take her out. Having to roll and hide gave my abilities time to rest and I let her solders recharge my bar meters.
I don't have a problem with tailing. The tailing hated the most is AC 3 with Haytham tailing George Washington. That was a pain.
I do agree with you about AC 2. I at first didn't jump until I kept losing. I finally said screw and I just jumped. I never lost after that.

Yesterday i got the platinum-trophy for the ezio-trilogy and i have to say that brotherhood is my least favorit game, what is funny because as a teen i LOVED brotherhood but now it's revelations. Revelations (for me) has the best mission design from all 3 games and its the most fun for me.

The way I always do that flag minigame is simply jumping off the roof, healing, grabbing the flag, parkouring back to the start. For the third flag, I also jump off and heal, but instead of (pointlessly) running towards the flag, I stand ready to tackle him on his way back and that's it. Figured it out after three or so fails during my first playthrough back in the day. Also, a pro-tip for everyone who's having issues with the war machine missions: if you're playing on PC or on a hacked console, simply back up your save data from the last checkpoint before the difficult part (make sure to turn off network completely on PC if playing a legit copy!) and then simply restore it should you take any damage. Much faster than doing those missions from scratch every time you fail. As for the Black Fortress in Rogue- it has a massive RNG factor. I once managed to beat it while only taking some chip damage from basic enemy ships and not a single hit (!!!) from the Fortress itself. RNJesus was really smiling on me that day. Either that, or he was simply too parched and forgot that he turns water into wine by touching it. With Odyssey bosses, the strategy is quite simple- Crit Chance+ Crit Damage+ OP attacks, preferably from axes and mauls. Distinctly remember beating Medusa on Hard on my first playthrough ever and only getting hit by her gaze once because I was too cocky about dealing with her stone soldiers. Had I dealt with them properly, I would have beaten her without taking any damage whatsoever. Oh, well. She definitely has nothing on most "soulsborne" bosses.

My personal hatred in ac3 goes to the eagle flight mission as there is no checkpoint between the forest and the root section meaning you had to do the whole thing again when you failed the 100% section. I still haven't managed to do this even in the remastered edition where you would have thought this would have been fixed with either a checkpoint or changing it to a quick time event.

My god, the flag mission. Any kind of racing mission is automatically my least liked (every time I try to do any kind of parkour quickly, it seem like the character deliberately misses a step. I know it's cause I suck at the game, but knowing doesn't make it less frustrating). Anyway, after almost destroying my console while not even finished with my first ever game on it, I just googled. Found two walk-throughs, one I just said "cool parkour, no way will I be able to do that" and second also had good parkour, but just said to let him take the third flag, the fourth will be as easy as first two. So naturally I jumped off the roof (and then had to repeat the mission again, cause I ran out of medicine)
