My take: The RPGs are the best in the series, enhanced the brand and brought more players into the series, as not everyone likes stealth games. The Old AC fans just hate to admit the new games are better with more to do and offers more choice on how to tackle situations. They made Mirage for the Old AC fans just so they could make Shadows (an RPG) 🤣 & then proceeded to call “The blockbuster game of 2024”, nobody say that bout mirage. That should tell how much preferable the RPG style is. Didn’t mean to write a book but 🤷🏾‍♂️. And to what you said, Altair is not THE PIONEER. If you said Bayek/Aya I would agree or even Basim or Roshan.

My favourite was syndicate, I just wish it had a 60fps upgrade for consoles. I would be scrutinising the Japan based game a lot so I won't bother with that one. Just from the videos you showed of it, I could already spot historical inaccuracies such as the Chinese building in Japan for some odd reason.

My hot take is that the carriages from Syndicate would have worked great in AC3. AC3 already has super open streets and if you brought it into the frontier you could use it to live out your inner highwayman. Hijacking others carriages or using the carriage to block a convoy

I had no problems with the missions in AC3 except the mission you got to chase Charles Lee near the end. That was some bull.

Hot take: if there’s any AC game that should get a remaster or remake, it should be Unity using the new engine coming out with Shadow

Its one of my least favorite but i think the most replayable is odyssey because of all the different outcomes to each mission and all the different builds you can make.

That tailing mission with Jacob in syndicate. I wish the game stopped the rooks from randomly spawning in. The amount of auto fails that occurred because of them antagonising the enemies.

w odyssey pick i loved the original ac formula and although odyssey deviates from that i absolutely love it there is a reason it won awards next to some of the best games of the decade people who hate on it just hate it because it isnt what they wanted and thats okay but that doesnt mean its a bad game

I grew up knowing of assassins creed but never playing it or being interested, odyssey was my first game, then a lil of origins, and now I have restarted from the beginning completing the first game and in the middle of ac2 now

My hot takes regarding the RPG trilogy: - Bayek should not exist as a protagonist, we should have played as Aya for the whole game. She was awesome. - Oddysey is legitimately one of the most fun games in the franchise - Ubisoft should not have canonized Kassandra and should have left the canon choice of protagonist in oddysey to the imagination instead of just saying "guess what, if you played as Alexios your playthrough is invalid" either that or have Kassandra as the only character from the very beginning without giving us the option to choose. - Eivor should have been a male character, his voice is like a million times better than female Eivor's and he fits the setting and role much more, he also looks way cooler.

Hot take - Mirage is one of the best assassins creed games

Man I’ve always just disliked the ship sailing aspect of the newer games. I loved Origins and Odyssey and sunk so many hours into them but I’ve never replayed them because I dread doing the ocean based missions/objectives, especially in Odyssey since more than half of the map is water. It just is so tedious, from the ship combat to the having to sail 9000 meters across the ocean for a mission. Just never been my cup of tea. I don’t mind the whole RPG aspect though, I enjoy leveling up and working for new weapons/gear.

Assassin’s Creed III is literally the reason I ended up moving to Boston for college back when it came out. It’s honestly one of my favorites in the series and holds a very special place in my heart.

If you compare the combat, parkour and stealth of the AC RPG's to that of Unity then yes, theres definately a decline. That said people need to stop pretending the older AC games were the pinnacle in these areas. There were always problems with badly implemented stealth mechanics, terrible enemy AI , repetitive animations and spungy enemies during combat. I think its more that the potential of the series has never been reached when it comes to playing an assassin, from a gameplay perspective. And rather than improving what they achieved in Unity they tried to emulate the succes of The Witcher 3 from their perspective of bigger is better, which it wasn't.

Hot take: AC2 is my least favorite game in the series. The story is not compelling and feels rushed. It feels like 90% of the story was slammed into the last couple hours of the game. Also, it is extremely clunky and janky. The combat is also repetitive and easy.

HOT TAKE: I think AC 3 has the best and most interesting story and the Kenway family line are the best characters I also think a game in Nazi Germany as a Jewish assassin that escapes concentration camps etc. will be amazing and I hope the current situation with Jews won't affect on this Idea...

Assassins creed brotherhood was made with in a year so was pretty impressive what they were able to do, the story is the weakest, and I do not like the structure of the main missions but I do like the world that they did pretty well.

I actually got a replica of Ezio's blade. Its probably the most practical version.
