The new Jeffsy is amazing! What is your dream bike?
I got back into biking a few years ago on a specialized fuse comp and thats still my current bike. Ive been putting money aside for a FS mtb now and the time is finally approaching.... slooooooowwewwly hahaha! Anyway, the Jeffsy in def on my list of possible bikes. Wish I could ride one. As for my dream bike, and its probably the bike I’ll end up buying, its the newest version of Pivots Switchblade. I honestly feel like mtbs are so good right now, its almost hard to make a bad decision!
Awesome video and Im glad to see how excited you are about your nee bike!!
@@panhandlemtb4308 First of all, the Specialized Fuse is my hardtail that I still ride! I love that bike. The Pivot is such a sweet bike and you have to let us know when you get it! If you were around here I'd let you test ride this bad boy. Keep us updated on your bike choices!
My dream bike is my GT aggressor pro I customized it I just have the frame and upgraded the parts is it hard I ride it everywhere I took a few fall but I keep riding
@@samfisher930 I've heard awesome things about that bike! Find us on Instagram and send us some pictures of your awesome GT!
That there is why you buy a bike. Good for you. That put a smile on my face. I just picked up an Izzo and am feeling the same.
The Izzo is definitely in my cross hairs! How do you like it? What build did you get?
I completely agree, the Jeffsy is probably the best bike for the money, no matter which model you get. Yesterday my Jeffsy CF Pro came in early and I could not be more happy.
Yes! I love new bike time for everyone! Where do you ride?
What was you delivery date, and how early was it? Was the email notice accurate? Thanks!
How early was it? I got the jeffsey comp but not scheduled to be available untill oct😔this wait is brutal. Please share your experience with delivery!
Wow. Great overview / review. Glad u enjoy it so much! Got a Core 2 on order. Already have a Canyon Neuron. Efficient, planted, comfortable and nimble and a great for XC-trail. This beast will give me a trail-enduro ride. I'll look to post a comparison.
Happy trails!
Video is awesome I bought a Base model back in June and should have it in 2 weeks I can’t wait feel like I’ve been waiting for years. Your bike looks awesome.
Thank you! The Jeffsy is incredible no matter what build tier! I had the base model in my cart for a long time! Then they sold out. You have to let us know when it comes in!
This info video has been so real, down to earth compare on the previous I watched Welcome to the YT family. My Jeffsy will be here in 2 weeks ,and my izzo will be here Tuesday.
Thank you so much for the video compliment! That is so awesome you got the Izzo as well as the Jeffsy!! I'm seriously considering that as my next light duty trail/xc bike. Which build tier did you decide on? Where do you ride?
Awesome.
Glad you like it so much.
That makes me feel good about ordering mine blind.
I'm 6ft 1. 210lbs. Ordered the XL
Can't wait for mine to get here!
I think you'll love it! Keep me posted on what you think!
Great riding man, way to go!
Thank you!
Thanks for the content. My Jeffsy arrives on Thursday, I can’t wait!!!! This makes me confident I made the right decision.
Please keep us updated on how you like it!
If it's the black one, can you ease my pain and tell me if that YT on the down tube is silver "Oh Pls", or White. My bike is the black base 29.
Well how is your new, epic bike?!
Just got back from a long day in Whistler, doing Into the Mystic and Lord of the Squirrels. It was amazing on the Jeffsy, 1300meters of climbing and over 30 km, the bike is loads of fun, floats over everything. Lots of other rides on it since I got it on July 23rd and I love it. It’s much better than me, I’m just holding on for the ride!!
I thought the bikes were out of stock
That looks a hell of a bike. Handles so well! 🤜
Man I never knew a bike could be this nice!
Lovely bike and great review!
Thank you!
Great review man, really helpful and informative! Loved the "Happiness Overload", Thank you!
Thank you so much! I'm in love with the bike. Please consider subscribing. Where's your videos?! We want to see where and what you ride!
@@ShiftMTB Nice, I am seriously considering the Jeffsy Cor 3! Ha-Ha, funny you should ask, just got a Hero 9 for my 51st BDay so there' might be something coming! :)
Sweet vid! You remind me that I have to do this type video for my new bike.
Bro you need to!
Love this bike . I would have had a 5 month wait so went with the ripmo . This will be a bike that will never out date . Happy riding to you sir . Mick 🤘
The Ripmo is one of my favorite bikes ever! Where do you ride?
ShiftMTB Rockhampton Queensland Australia brother . Yeah the ripmo is all class . I’m still getting used to it though . I’m def running the suspension too firm but I will fix that. I just wanted to stay on the recommendation settings for 100km but a change is coming
Australia is definitely on my bucket list to visit! Keep shredding and making videos!
ShiftMTB mate if you ever come down I hope you come stay at my place . Trail system that has had national enduro series is 5 minute drive away and we are about to get a 9km DH trail . More than welcome mate. I ride and filmed yesterday but it was a complete disaster lol. The sun blinded us , we kept missing jumps and almost going off the trails . Just a terrible ride where everyone wasn’t feeling it but we had a great laugh . Take care mate
Nice overview! 150mm of travel is legit! I have Chesters on a couple of my bikes and they are great. I need a bash guard for my front chainring on my Surly ICT!
Wow sounds like you have an awesome array of bikes! What's your favorite?
ShiftMTB They add up over time! Gotta go with the Surly ICT right now, extremely versatile and a ton of fun!
That’s a damn slick bike dude!!!
Thank you! Get out here and let's ride!
ShiftMTB boys, if the border ever opens up again I’m down 🤘
Just got a YT Capra and I love it. That’s and awesome bike bro. I’d own both if I could afford it.
It was everything I could do to keep myself from the Capra. I just couldn't justify it and the Jeffsy has been my dream bike for a very long time. How's your Capra? Where do you ride?
@@ShiftMTB loving my Capra. I ride in Southern Oregon and Northern California mostly.
Capra smashes downhill. I’ve always been able to climb pretty easy so I really don’t think it climbs bad.
I've got a CF Pro 29 on order. Looking forward to matching your stoke levels! :)
Bro you gotta get here and we'll be Besties with Jeffsys!
Also post a video of it!
Nice video. I have the 2020 YT Jeffsy 29, agree it's probably best value and geometry. Enjoy it!
Post up a video on that bad boy! What build tier did you get?
ShiftMTB Ha! Debating making some videos. It’s the 2020 Jeffsy 29 Base TwoTone Blue L. It’s a beast downhill and surprisingly easy to climb with. Cheers from Arizona 🤙🏼
The Bike is really reading your mind for sure hehe
Hell yeah it is! It's a wizard bike...
Great video! Where you got the chain protector and other parts?
Pedal the Peaks in Durango. Check them out!
I love your enthusiasm - you’ve just sold 100s of Jeffsy’s for YT!
Thank you! I love this bike and I love mountain biking! Where do you ride?
ShiftMTB in the UK, but not ridden for a few years. Thinking of getting into it again and looking for a secondhand Jeffsy as I reckon it would the local conditions and my style well
@@biasbilt well I hope you can find one! Let us know what you end up getting!
Awesome thorough review, great riding and just the amount of humor I need to get through the day (and lengthy videos). Being a heavy biker (Flying_Kilos), what spring do you use?
Honestly I just pump the air up until the sag is about 25%. I'm learning more about suspension set up this year for sure! What bike do you ride?
@@ShiftMTB Specialized Demo for the Park, Marin Nail Trail (HT) for everyday use. Looking for something in between, guess the Jeffsy will do the trick.
@@elmarehrich8289 The Jeffsy will do it all, man! Make some videos and let us know when they're up!
Man I'm just Over 6ft closer to 6' 1" maybe a hair over with riding shoes on. I hope the XL I ordered fits well.
Waiting on mine for April delivery haha
Worth it!
You’ve done a pretty good review, Bud
Whats your opinion on the 29 vs 27.5 on the Jeffsy? Any thoughts?
I have a LOT of thoughts on it, which is why it's best to just say "get what you want"!
For me it came down to versatility. The 29 inch bikes today can do anything and i love how they roll over obstacles noticeably easier.
A 27.5 bike is so playful and maneuverable. I don't agree with people who claim there are minimal differences between the two. It's a big difference for me; however, I know I would love either one, just for different reasons.
So try out the wheel sizes on other bikes. Let us know what you choose!
I ordered a Jeffsy 29 Comp, but won't come until October, and I can't wait.
You gotta let us know when it gets in!
You and me both!!
I'm 50 this year, have been riding a HT on the NorthShore Off and on since 85. The sport really peaked my interest again in 2016, Take into account I was One of those guys that said when fullsus came out " they can't handle a HT"Or something like that lol. This is the year!! and the list i had wasn't long, but the research was, Now with qovid here No 2021 bikes where coming in july. The Jeffsy was high on the list as that "sexy as hell" silver Optic was eliminated for rear travel, and don't get me going on the Sight colors. Then it was the Meta TR "available in Oct" you find out. YT Jeffsy is my clear winner, A base 29" but with no pro's available, I had the cash and plus some for goodies. So my first Fullsus will get the full treatment starting with a Pike Ultimate 51% offset up front donated from the HT LOL.
You have to let us know when you get it! I'm so stoked for you!
Nice job on this one. You still riding the Jeffsy and do you feel the same about it? Price seems really good.
We plan on putting out longer term videos about the bike. But in short, absolutely! This bike is still blowing me away! And the price is a lot lower than any other brand with these (similar) specs.
More info coming soon.
Great video man! I ended up with the Capra and love it! But, still curious about the Jeffsy. So who knows, I may sell and buy 🤘
The Capra is simply an incredible bike! Equal and better to the Jeffsy in every way! Keep it, man, it's a great bike! Where do you ride?
ShiftMTB I’m in Southern California and lately I’ve been riding our local bike park a lot.
@@MILTONATOR How's the capra? I can't decide between the jeffsy and the capra.. I guess a jeffsy is better suited for a beginner, but I won't be a beginner forever, and can't afford another bike afterwards xD
Squishy Wheels I sold my Capra after 3 months (made a video that explains why) I would recommend the Jeffsy, and I disagree that it’s “for beginners” I initially wanted the Jeffsy but was impatient to wait the 3-4 months so I went with the Capra which as in stock. If I had to do it again, I would buy the Jeffsy.
@@LimaMTB Jeffsy is definitely NOT a beginner bike by any stretch (although a beginner would love it!). A completely capable bike that you would be hard pressed to find a trail it couldn't tackle.
Really nice bike 👌👌
Thank you so much! I love it. What bike do you ride? Where do you ride the most?
ShiftMTB I ride a Scott genius 940, I’m from RI and I ride at Lincoln Woods state park. Really awesome park
I ride the 2020 Izzo Pro. I'm more of an XC rider and wanted to try trail. The Izzo was an excellent choice.
You got the Izzo! That's seriously the next bike in my list! It's a perfect trail bike. I am stoked that YT came out with the XC friendly trail bike. How do you like it?
@@ShiftMTB love it. Best bike I have ever ridden. Best climber other than my hardtail but so much more fun to ride.
Hi, I ride a 2020 Jeffsy, too (29 base model i XXL for me at 1,96m and 111 kg) and upgrded the saddle, bar (carbon, 30mm rise instead of 20mm tin), grips, pedals and brakepads (metal instead of organic). It's an incredible bike ;o)
It's wonderful to hear from more Jeffsy riders! Where do you ride, new friend?
@@ShiftMTB I live in northern France right now and the Ardennes mountain chain is just an hour away. Putting in +/- 500 km/month until last week, when I broke my collarbone going OTB.
So it comes down to more CZcams and less pedaling for the next four to six weeks ...

The freaking greatest! You may look at Commencal, too! Let me know what you get!
@@ShiftMTB That new Fezzari is loaded, but looks a bit different to me.
did you add volume spacers to fork and shock? If so, how much? I have the same bike coming in a few weeks and I, too, am a bit pudgy.
Hey! Congrats on your purchase, this bike is so perfect. As far as the suspension set up, I took mine to a world class suspension tuner here in Durango. The company is Diaz Suspension Design. Highly recommend calling this guy. I don't know if he ramped up the spacers. He spent a few minutes messing with settings and dialing in the stock set-up. I'm bringing the suspension back to him this spring to do a complete overhaul. Even if you are comfortable taking apart your forks and shock, I would recommend bringing them to a professional for your initial set up. I am a good mechanic myself, but I just wanted to start in a place that was already really good. There is SOOOO much more to a good suspension set-up than spacers and air pressure. Let us know when you get your bike and how you like to set it up!!
Great video. Congrats on the bike. I ordered mine and is not available until October. This sucks. But like you said, it was the best bike for the money I could find. I wanted to ask you about the suspension tuning. I’m also 6 feet tall and weight about 218. Did you try setting the sus based on the manufacturers recommendations or just felt better having a pro tune it for you. I saw another video saying they were not comfortable with the manufacturers recommendations. Enjoy the whip. 🤙🏼
What a wonderful and engaging question! I went into the professional tuner to ask the same questions. He told me that Fox doesn't do as good of a job as they should with their factory suggestions. He quickly began clicking and adjusting everything on the forks; He put in two more volume spacers, I believe. When you get your bike, please take it to a professional tuner. Our tuner here in Durango, Anthony Diaz, is one of the best in the entire world. He was a pro downhill Racer himself and everybody screams for his services. Find someone who can match that level of skill and you will be happier than you've ever been on your bike! I am thinking of making a video just with him about the tuning.
ShiftMTB thanks for the advice man. I will definitely consider getting some pro help on this. I rode my first full sus two weeks ago at a bike park and the front sus felt really stiff. Had to ask the park tech to adjust it several times. I assume it would be similar when I get mine. Cheers!
What size did you order?
@@angelreynoso6723 mine is a large, but I assume you are asking the other guy...
Angel Reynoso I ordered a large as per YT’s recommendations. Though I’m smack in the middle between L and XL. Will see.
I have the 2019 version of this exact bike, wish I waited a few months to get the more powerful brakes and x01 eagle drive terrain. Still an awesome bike though
The 2019s are so great! I bet you love it! Where do you ride?
ShiftMTB sorry I didn’t see this until now. I ride in Southern California so YT is a local brand here. Looks similar to the dusty trails you’re riding. Good times!
@@alexanderdimitriadis7762 I went to the YT headquarters down in SoCal a few years ago. Really solid people! If you make it to southern Colorado let us know!!
ShiftMTB For sure!! Riding looks great out there👍
The bike doing it better than you remark. I totally get it. I feel the same on my new bike a 2020 Transition Sentinel. I tell everyone that the bike is more capable than I am, to the point it scares me sometimes.
Yes! You totally understand. I love transition bikes, glad you got one!
Love the video! what bash guard did you attach? Looks Clean
The Funn Bash Guard is what I ordered. It's super clean and they actually send you two guards in the package! I also ordered the Funn chain guide, too, but the E-thirteen one that came with the bike is so good I never changed it over. What bike are you riding?!

I wish they would of spelled it Geoffsy.
China should build the Geoffsy and sell them as the knock-off...
I dont know which i prefer, this or the spectral 🥰
The store says they are out of stock and I really wanted one 😕
That has been happening to me for three years! Be vigilant in 2021, I can't wait to see the new color scheme they have planned! What are you riding now?
I'm a bigger guy also, 6'2" 250. I was looking at the Capra with the mindset that it would be better for someone my size because it's a little beefier of a build. You said that you felt as though the Capra would be too much bike, why is that? I'm new to the MTB world, coming from desert on a dirtbike. Any input would be appreciated!
First of all, I come from desert dirt bike riding myself. So we are automatically friends!
The Capra isn't necessarily "beefier" in the sense that it would be better for a bigger guy. Both bikes are just as capable as one another to accommodate bigger riders like us. The "over-biked" situation I refer to in the video is referencing what each bike is built to do. The Jeffsy is a true trail bike with a tilt for enduro. The Capra is a super capable enduro bike with a tilt toward downhill. Because I live in such a steep area of the world I find myself climbing... a lot. The downhills are great, but they are all do-able on a hardtail (if you have the skill).
The Capra is definitely more difficult to climb with than the Jeffsy. However, my very fit friends are still MUCH faster climbing with a Capra than I am on any bike. I just wanted to have a good balance for myself personally.
That being said! My rear suspension does take a hammering. I am an intermediate rider and I love jumping and I hit things very hard. My bigger body does take a toll on the gear. My next move with my Jeffsy will be to upgrade to a coil shock until I can lose the weight. With a coil shock behind me it will lose a lot of climbing ability (so I am told, updates to come), but the bike is lighter and smaller than the Capra so it's a good trade off. I'm losing weight very slowly, so this will be a good temporary measure to accommodate the abuse I put it through.
I would be having the exact same issues with the Capra, FYI.
Let us know what you pick! I get so excited to hear about new mtb guys!
Nice work amigo! How much do you weigh if you doing mind me asking? Im 240lbs and Im trying to decide between the Jeffsy and Capra...Thanks

Is the jeffsy base worth it ? Because I consider getting one
It's my opinion that the entire YT line is worth it. Like I mentioned in the video, there wasn't any other brand out there that was even close to matching price for quality except for one. You may look into the Guerilla Gravity company out of Colorado, they were almost as good of a deal. looking to buy a new yt jeffsy, how is the frame quality '?
Frame quality is immaculate. I have already crashed this thing, hard, multiple times. The frame has nothing but perhaps a scratch. Also, I believe they have a 5 year warranty on the frame. That may have changed. If you're VERY concerned with damaging a frame, you may look into Guerilla Gravity. They have super impact resistant frames (up to 300% more impact resistant) if you are willing to sacrifice a bit of weight. Although I'm not sure about a stress comparison. Hope this helps!
@@ShiftMTB thanks 🔥
What are your gloves?
That is a company called FIST. They make awesome stuff like gloves and fenders and stuff with great patterns like this!
Full factory suspension for 5299? That’s a crazy good deal !! That would run you about 8k if it were a Santa Cruz
Yeah that's exactly why I went with this option. The entire kit is next level for ¾ the cost!
@@ShiftMTB Does it feel premium though ? 👀 I’m thinking about getting this or the GX build Santa Cruz 2022
I've been on a LOT of very high end bikes. This feels better than anything I've ever ridden. If you're truly in the market for the best bang for your buck, it's YT all the way. I have no incentive to praise this bike, it's honestly how I feel. I have a few things I would change, I may make a video about those soon. (They should seriously sponsor me...)
@@ShiftMTB 😂 Yeah I see, they definitely should ! I’m really contemplating on getting one. When I was reading that spec sheet I was amazed, having read some of those Santa Cruz builds. The NX build for a SC costs the same as the X01 (race) build on the YT. It’s completely mind blowing !! I’m going to give it a go then, wish me luck! Thanks for your feedback and keep shredding man !
Santa Cruz is an amazing bike company with unmatched customer service. I've never heard a negative thing about their bikes or their people. Plus you have the benefit of local shop support. That definitely is worth something. I'm very confident in my ability to work on my own bike AND we have a local bike shop who sponsors us. In the end it was just a better decision for me to go with YT. Every bit as good as Santa Cruz, way less money, but you don't get a lot of the perks that comes with a gigantic bike company. I hope you'll consider subscribing to our channel and finding us on Instagram, we would love to talk mtb with you any time you'd like!
I just remembered a certain cycling channel that once reviewed a YT Jeffsy 27.5 AL Comp......somewhere during the review, he said: "It climbs like a hardtail"
It sure feels like a climbing machine! I'm blown away at every aspect of this bike. What bike do you ride?
@@ShiftMTB for now, I'm riding a Brusko Sawtooth 27.5+ a hardtail trail bike (Brusko being a cycling brand under Sandugo which is a known outdoor apparel brand here in the philiipines).... I am aiming to get my hands on either the jeffsy or the capra, whichever comes first in the future.
@@celsolicupiii7974 I hear there is awesome riding out there in the Philippines!
@@ShiftMTB yes, a lot....be it the north, central or southern philippines..
trails can be flowy or a hard mistress depending on the place you're currently in....
for example: my hometown is situated in a valley close to the bay, so the mountain trails are within reach some kilometers from the city center.
once you reached the top there we called "the tower", the trails there have a lot of exits depending on your route: one might take you back to the foot of the mountain or the outskirts (south, east, or west of the city)
we also have trail routes we used for enduro races or some weekend fun which was happily opened for us bikers. it's just a few hundred meters before you reach the tower.
Dont call yourself heavy/fat, your looking great, and you are ripping on trail!
But y they put a 27mm rims?
I don't know why that's a problem...? I love the wheels! Fast and light and awesome.
Great bike and just what you needed to be even faster than you already were. Lol
You're the man! Let's ride!
Time to ride Purgatory. When? How are the twins?
I'm you don't mind me asking just how heavy are you?? I'm currently around 280-290lb and looking at getting back into MTB after a decade of power eating for strong man and don't know if I'm too fat for a nice bike I'm liable to destroy under my fat ass
Bro your story is similar to mine, but you seem much more impressive... At the time of this shoot I weighed 240lbs (left over from weight lifting and the diet that comes along with it). The biggest problem I ran into due to being fat was setting up the rear suspension. I maxed out the shock pump and still didn't have enough air in it. Since this video I've lost about 20lbs and the bike feels much better!
As far as if you're "too fat for a nice bike" I believe you know the answer to expect.
Personally I believe that's entirely up to your budget, goals, skill level and preferences, not your body weight. As a fat guy i can honestly say that being big DOES make a difference. Propelling our big bodies up a mountain is a killer on the lungs and legs and then getting the bike to stop on the way down can be treacherous (many glowing red brakes to testify of that). The parts are more expensive and we change them more often. We are hard on the gear even if we don't ride aggressively, solely due to our size.
Maybe consider an aluminum hardtail trail bike with some bigger forks to get started. But what do I know? I'm just a fat guy on a bike!
If you're absolutely dedicated to mtbing then you can justify a really nice bike! Your size doesn't determine whether you can or can't mountain bike.
Just promise you let us know what you decide on getting!
@@ShiftMTB well I am a seasoned rider. I started riding BMX in 1988 and moved to MTB in 1994 and stopped around 2003. I currently have a shitty bike I got to ride with the kids and I live at top of a huge hill and when I get to bottom im usually doing 45mph and man them discs GLOW!!! I'm wanting to do a mix of playing in the local woods on the DH trails and big days out and am torn between a Jeffsy and a Capra 🤔
@@Bobbleoff I come from a bmx racing and motocross background. My preference, of course, is the Jeffsy. But that was after YEARS of deliberation. I called YT and spoke to many local professional riders. Durango has incredibly steep and chunky riding. The 150mm of travel is perfect for the park or long trail days that we tackle. I've been told that the Capra is a LOT of bike for a daily rider.
That's my input. I may bump the forks up to 160 when I get them rebuilt, but that's just a personal thing.
were those bike-gasms? I felt a little uncomfortable watching this.
We gave heavy consideration to putting an adult rating on this video… in the end we decided it was best for people to suffer through it. Getting a new bike has realities and there is no shame in showing them! 😄🤣
