My name is Parker. I’m going to rip the audio from this video and play it while I ride. That way I have Jason constantly complementing me and that will make me feel special 😂
😂🤣🤙
That’s hilarious
Nice Parker!
You are a ripper dude. 🤘
@@mtbyumyum why did you take not the 2020 and what you prefer 27,5 inch wheels with 160mm travel or 29er and 150mm of travel
Sry my english is fucking bad i com from switzerland💩
Nice to see Parker back! Jacobs needs some trail days for sure.
Just the review I was looking for!
Yeah dude!
Great review man. I’ve been on the CF comp for the last 9 months. Swapped tires and the bike really came to life, love it!
Yeah, I've heard that recommendation many times now. Sounds like I probably should have ridden both this and the Capra with different tires.
MTB yumyum sorry didn’t mean to beat a dead horse. Love the channel man. Keep up the great work!!!
Bought one of those hip packs all the way from South Africa, it arrived this week and I'm loving it! Dual 700ml bottles and my phone, wallet and tools.
Dude, I know right! I take it on every ride it's invaluable. It's nice that it rides super-low and is simple without a bunch of flaps straps and bungees hanging all over it
Awesome review. I had the opportunity to go to this same demo and ride the Jeffsy 29 cf pro. I also got to demo the Ripmo this year and agree with you that the Ripmo climbs a bit better but in my opinion I thought the Jeffsy was a lot more playful when descending. I am 6'2" and the XL Jeffsy fit me perfect but the Ripmo XL seemed to be quite a bit bigger maybe next time I will have to try a Large. Thanks for the great bike reviews!
Yeah, I would personally take the ripmo over the jeffsy also but at that price for someone on a budget it's worth looking at
Hard to beat YT for how great they work plus the build. Bikes look awesome also.
Yeah, I wonder how that e-13 bits hold up over time but on its face, excellent value!
Great review Jason 🚴 👌
Thank you!
Jason, cool review. YT Bikes have some great value packages. I demoed this YT Jeffsy 29 CR Pro Race last spring and was impressed also. Great kit. Great ride. Thanks for sharing your insight. I agree.
Yeah, I'll be interested to see how that e13 stuff is long-term how it holds up and if it's a pain to work with, otherwise great value!
@@mtbyumyum true. The lower end E13 dropper post was weak. Sounds like the tires worked well for you.
Keep rocking the videos and reviews. So glad you pushed through those early setbacks (YT subscriber count and doubt). You are quoted all over internet. Keep going.
MTB yumyum I’ve owned one all summer. The E-thirteen stuff is not a pain to work with at all. Pretty bomb proof. I’m about your height and got a large. Might be important to tell folks that these bikes run a little small.
Thanks for weighing in I'm sure someone will read this and find it useful. Thanks!
I have a 2019 YT Capra! I love the YT brand. The e13 tires may feel nice when they are new, but I had to replace both front and back tires before they reached 200 miles. I also had to replace my dropper post. The e13 ejected off the bike while on a bumpy dirt road... Love the bike, but I'm not an e13 fan at all!!!
Yeah, I've heard the cassette could be a pain to work with as well. Interested to hear about those tires. The few experiences I've had with them they've been great... of course they were likely new.
On paper the Jeffsy looks like a great deal. There is some real cost savings for the average buyer with the direct to consumer brands such as YT. The other side of the coin is that there is less opportunity to test ride one or have a support relationship with a local bike shop. That being said, the bike shops I frequent are still happy to support you even if you buy some bikes and parts online.
Yeah, it's super nice to have a local bike shop that has your back! Especially with warranty issues come up
Been a long time subscriber and seen Jacobs Ladder so many times, looks like such a good trail. Thanks for sharing the stoke. Also maybe do a Parker bike check or interview since he’s always there.
Hey! Thanks for subscribing and sticking around. Yeah, interviewing Parker and getting some of his knowledge would be incredible
New title of this video is “Nice, Parker!” 😂 He is BOOSTED 😲
Haha yeah😆
I think a t-shirt with “NICE Parker” is needed
Hey yum yum, you didn't seem as enthused about this bike as others you've ridden. Just my opinion. Keep up the great work. Love your reviews.
Yeah, it's a nice bike but nothing overly unique that draws me to it the way some other bikes do... it will get you out on the trail climbs well enough and descends with confidence... but I become a bit choosy after this many years of demoing bikes I guess
Hey, nice that you demo a bike from around my corner. But now I think it would be time for the new Kona Process 134;)
Awesome bikes, riding the 27CF Pro Race my self. Changed the tires for Maxxis Highroller II and Aggressor in 2.5WT instead.
Yeah, I think the tire change would be useful and make it feel like it scoots up the trail little quicker
MTB yumyum Probably, ordered the tires at the same as the Bike, so the Ethirteens are unused in the drawer, never tried them. Went tubeless at the same time.
Last March I was deciding between the Jeffsy and the Ripmo. I took them both for a test ride and I liked the Ripmo much better, so I got the Ripmo. However, the price on the Jeffsy is unbeatable. I got the lower end NX Ripmo build with an upgraded factory fork and Shimano XT breaks, which was about the same as the top end Jeffsy build.
If you want a high spec build that rides great at a very reasonable price, you can’t pass up the Jeffsy.
Yeah, I would personally go with the ripmo myself, like you. That said, on a budget, this bike is definitely worth looking at!
@@mtbyumyum that's exactly what I was going to ask, Jeffsy pro race or Ripmo v2 xt?, looks like ripmo has it. everyone raves about the ripmo in all the reviews. wow! Im real interested as I need my bike to climb tech as well as descend in Pemberton BC
Hey Jason are you close to getting your hands on a norco optic ? I understand the weather plays a part but so keen to get your review before I pull the trigger . Mick
Just found your channel. Great job on reviews. Any chance on a Niner Rip 9 RDO carbon review
Yeah, I've heard that's a rad bike. Maybe in the spring👍
Nice! Now we need to 2020 Primer 29 and the new Norco Optic and I'll be able to make a decision. I know there's other reviews out there for the Optic but I prefer to see the same person testing the bikes I'm interested in rather than different bikes and different riders. Also, still haven't seen any independent tests of the Primer 29, just the Primer S for some reason.
Thank you! Yeah, I hope to ride both those bikes this spring. I have a line on the Norco the primer will be more difficult to get my hands on
The one bike I’d like you test is the Deviate with the gearbox.
What's Parker's youtube channel? You two shred! Always love the level headed reviews and your love for local companies in the adventure space. Have a great 2020 MTB season!
Thank you! I'm not sure Parker has ever actually started a CZcams channel. He's talked about it several times but I know he's really busy raising his family now.
Always a treat to watch Parker shred! Question: Are the guys in front of you usually on the same bike you’re reviewing?
Yeah, as often as possible they riding the same bike but it doesn't always work out that way. Parker was riding the Capra29. He's such a powerful rider he can make any bike look Nimble and easy to flick around
MTB yumyum did he agree that it felt numb or too big? Just curious.
Finally.. thx!
Yeah buddy🤘✌
@@mtbyumyum What is Parker riding?
Awesome! Looks like you’ll have to do it again with the 2020s about to come out :). Was Parker riding the same bike? He was getting some air for sure.
Parker was riding the Capra 29
Hey Jason. What size did you test out and how did it fit? Im 5’9” and YT suggests going up to a large. Thanks.
Personally, would you take a hightower over the YT? Considering SC lifetime warranty. It may be more expensive, but I feel like, if the cash is there, it's worth grabbing the hightower. You seemed more enthused about it as well on the 2020 hightower review.
Wow $5000 ? That is a steal at that price !!
Any chance you could do a review on the new spesh enduro?
Hey Jason, if you took off those nearly 1100 gram tires and put on some trail tires do you think it would have climbed similar to the ripmo?
No, I don't think so. The ripmo definitely responds better under pedal input. I think this would be nice with a lighter set of wheels and tires but don't think it could bridge the gap
Be nice when YT brings out this modern geo on the entry level alloy Jeffsy.
Was just looking at that. What do you think isn't quite modern? My brother rides the AL Jeffsy 29. No short comings that I've noticed. But, our steepest down is either at Spider Mountain or Bentonville. Cheers.
@50mtb you just got that Ibis Ripley, right? That's a dream!
@@JZMartinez Lots of people waiting on YT to bring carbon geo to alloy on Jeffsy. Cool bike.
@@cliffsangelsphotography Yep! Love the Ripley. Had my eye on the Jeffsy 29, especially if brought new geometry has carbon down to entry alloy version. Too late for me now. : )
Jeffsy doesn't have that same nimble light footed snap to it that you get from the Ripley...
I was wondering if you made it to the YT demo in Draper. I came down from Idaho and tried out the Decoy but ended up buying a Levo instead.
Nice! Yep, finally got a ride on the YT bikes!
Were you the one there first thing in the morning? There was you and one other person? I think I talked to you and I remember you said you were from Idaho. If it was you, I'm the one other person there early before they opened.
I didn’t make it until the afternoon, 3 hour drive from Idaho.
That is my bike but 27.5 variant. I put 2 DHR2 front and rear 2.4.
The bike is awesome.
Yeah, they had a 27.5 there I just didn't have time to write it. Would like to ride that bike sometime... I bet it's super playful
@@mtbyumyum If you find yourself in my neck of the woods (Portugal) you can ride my bike :D
It is super playful yeah.
love the videos ......thank you for your expertise!!!! I'm torn between Propain Hugene and the Jeffsy .......... what gets your vote??
Hugene!! No question 👍
@@mtbyumyum fab thank you à
"Nice Parker "
Ahhhh mate! I've hassling you for aaages, maybe even YEARS!, to ride a Jeffsy. I LOVE mine! Great for riding trails all day, plowing through rocks and hitting drops.
I'm 5'10" and ride a Large 29er. Forks and shock are Rockshox not Fox - Pike rct3 and Monarch rc3.
I have the older 2017 29er AL version but still a ripper, and in my opinion a better spec than the current AL having no E13 and using Shimano instead.
It also came with a rubber chainstay guard.
The E13 tyres add loads of weight and drag, if you swap them out for Minion DHR/DHF then you will notice a massive difference to ups and downs.
Did have the Flip Chip on H or L? It climbs better in H mode.
My advice:
Change tyres.
Swap out the saddle -, it's a pain in the arse after a few hours.
Fidlock Twist bottle 450ml will fit the Jeffsy frame.
Yeah, I wish I could have ridden it with lighter tires. Thanks man!
Would you recommend an XL for someone 6ft?
@@angelreynoso6723
I called the California location to ask them which size jeffsy I should get I'm 6 foot 1, 210lbs, and the dude totally said the XL should fit me right, so I ordered the AL base model.
This will be my first full squish and I'm super stoked! Gotta wait until early to mid September for it to come through though.
What size did you test and how tall are you? Would you say the jeffsy runs true to size or small/large? With the steep seat tube angle the illusion of a shorter reach is visible. I'm 5'11 and prefer a smaller bike and cant decide between a medium or a large.
Medium 5'8"
Each time he says nice Parker, take a drink
🤣😂😆
6ft 32”inseam 160lbs, I’m stuck between a L and XL, which one should I choose?
Would you choose this bike over a yeti sb130 c1 build ....plz help! I have no way to demo a yt to compare because I have demoed a yeti sb130 and really like it. But this bike has better components
How did Parker like the Capra?
I would like to try this model. I rode a Capra CF Pro when they were out in Draper in September. Pretty fun coming down, but not a good climber. I know it is long travel, but the HD4/5 and Transition Patrol climb well. Guys working the demo were super cool. Good to hear they won't be using e13 now. That e13 dropper was horrible. I thought it was broken or something, but they said that is the way it is. This model looks nice, though.
Yeah, I think the bike I rode had a fox transfer on it. No problem there. Yeah, that's one thing I really like about the hd5 by Ibis, it's a big bike that can still climb well
How does it compare to the Stumpy 29? I honestly found the Stumpy 29 to feel huge and unwieldy, especially compared to the Trance 29 which feels super playful.
Yeah, good example with the Trance 29... the Jeffsy, like the Stumpy, has a very active and planted to the ground feeling at higher speed. Excellent stability and smooth over the chunk. A bit slower and less nimble in the slower speeds and tighter trails. Excellent high speed trail bike but lacks some of the precision feel and easy to hand playful character.
Doing a live stream about this bike?
wasnt planning on it....
@1:32 SCREAM
Noticed that too! Like someone is being tortured? 😜
are you going to review either the 2020 enduro or the transition patrol?
Hope to ride both this spring👍
I'm not an expert like Yum Yum, but the Patrol is a great bike. Would love to get one. I got to demo one at Outerbike in Moab and it was great. Rode a new Specialized Enduro S3 there, as well (if that is what you were referring to). It was a good bike. I liked the downtube storage and the multi tool in the stem. Wasn't as good as the Patrol.
Staying Active R A Warrior oh , what did you like / dislike about the enduro
@@sidharthramasubbu3221 Wasn't as good at climbing as others I rode and not as nimble/playful. Still a good downhill bike, though. Good bike for shuttle rides or lift service bike parks. With how much is going on with the rear suspension, it didn't feel heavy, which surprised me. There was a bit of bobbing on climbing, not too bad. Just not as efficient as other bikes. Overall, a good bike, just not one I would ride all day on.
Staying Active R A Warrior do you think the patrol corners better than the enduro ?
I thought this was a review for bike called Parker then I kept seeing YumYum with different bike in front of the fence. So confused...
Man you do good reviews and all. But i have yet to see a bike that you don’t like
What's not to like?
That Parker is an Efing showoff
do you have a video of YT IZZO?
can you review a mondraker dune?
You must of made this vid a while a go I can tell by the foliage around !!
haha yeah, I've been sitting on it...
Maybe I missed, but what color is that Jeffsy Pro Race? Is that just a demo color?
Dark gray.... matte finish sort of...
@@mtbyumyum That's not an available finish for purchase though, right? (For the 29 Pro Race)
Are going to review the Canyon Strive?
I would love to... just a matter of finding one...
MTB yumyum I have a medium that you could borrow, I just have to drive Utah.
Better or worse than mojo hd5??
what is the trail where you are doing the bikes testÉ
Corner Canyon, Draper Utah
Review a fezzari cascade peak and la sal peak
Have you ever gave a bike a bad review? I find it very hard to take your opinion, as well as every other reviewer, because y’all all say every bike is amazing.
Idk, just hard to take to heart
What's Parker riding?
Capra29
I'm a little bummed you didn't get to review the more poppie and playful 140mm. I guess it's only fair to compare this with the Yeti SB150. How would that comparison play out?
Aerial Heights the Jeffsy is comparable to a Stumpjumper, he actually made the comparison.
The Yeti SB150 is at another level, specially when jumping. End up buying a Ripmo NX but I just can’t get the Yeti SB150 out of my mind.
The Yeti sb150 is a much bigger more stable sled... this yt is more similar to the Hightower, Stumpjumper & Instinct BC Edition
How slack is that jeffsy? Looks steep in pictures.
66/66.5 us.yt-industries.com/shopware.php?sViewport=detail&sArticle=2116
Budget bike at 5 grand?
by todays standards and considering the spec, yeah! I think so!
What frame size is that👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
medium
Thank you.. how tall you are for the medium frame... and how’s the experience.
Won’t buy it bc I never can demo it and the lack of availability especially when the day discount and you find that they have 0 bikes available
Yeah, I actually just got on their website today and noticed they had no inventory on this bike haha surprising, maybe they're coming out with a new bike soon
How is it possible that hundreds of people doing a rest or review video on that bike but 80% don't call the frame and body size???
You and Parker should get a room. Just sayin'
No bottle on a modern bike is just crap packaging by the designers. Back to the drawing board YT.
Yeah, you'd think they could make that work... in the mean time #hippacks
@@mtbyumyum I'm not against packs, especially for big rides, but if you wanna do a quick ride or maybe an XC race a bottle is so much nicer.
You rip for a bike tester.
