Black & Puerto Rican ( basically black ) but my pop ( grandfather ... he's Puerto Rican and Indian ) his family lives in Philly and most of them have moved so far away from their Puerto Rican roots & growing up I hated it. I always wanted to know Spanish and take summer trips to the island etc but it didn't happen. So, I grew up trying to teach myself the Puerto Rican traditions / culture etc. & something really funny is that people call me Dominican all the time ! & im just like nope 🇵🇷

I've seen many so called PRican videos trying to discuss our unique vocabulary/slang but miss the mark....this one is more accurate....I just want to make some points clear..... PRicans DO NOT say.... "ahorita", it's "horita". "Revolú" is distinctly PRican. Other distinctly PRican slang words are "mano" which has the same spelling as the word hand in Spanish but "mano" in PRican slang is short for hermano.... meaning a friend. Another PRican slang term for friend, ect is.... "pana". "Acicalao" is when a guy just got out of the barber, he got a fresh haircut or beard trimmed. "Corillo" means a group or gathering of friends hanging out or going somewhere to hang out.

    • @IAMBENNYBLANCO.

Puerto Rican here, born and raised in the Island 😉 very good video congratulations for explaining it so well!!! Only two things: "Brutal" means either something that is "super cool" or plain Brutal just like in English. 'Acho and 'Chacho, are both short for Muchacho(a) those are abbreviations forms. The difference is in how we use those in a sentence. When we say: 'Acho, it's more closely related to "Hey" in slang, or as in "Hey man, what's up" (' Acho man). On the other hand, 'Chacho(a), is used directly as short for "Muchacho(a)". Hope that helps 🙂🤗 thank you so much for making the video. We indeed need more videos, that are related to our Puerto Rican culture, comedy and more!
