I was thinking the same thing lmaoo
Hahahaha.
Bicho,that has other meaning.
it means dick. "mama bicho" means "suck my blank"
@@monaetheone8458. In PR it means dick but in most of Latin America it means insect or bug.

Here are some words i use. Corillo, bregar, dame un break, guillao, and gata 😉 I'm boricua born here in NJ.
What these words mean
@Tajane Cheatham Corillo means homies, bregar means working or for example hacer eso brega it means "doing that would be cool", so it means cool and work, dame un break means "give me a break", guillao means" that's cool" and gata means the chick.
Im Puerto Rican, born and raised in the island, moved to US in my 25’s and no one can understand my spanish were I am at 😂
🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷 boricuas para siempre
I'm full Puerto Rican too. I wish I was born in the island. I know very little Spanish
No you full American if born in the states. People here living on the island would be calling you gringa...lol...trust me I live here. Not born but partly raised here. Pero nada ya tu sabe boricua de cora...
Me as well
Who cares if you are American. If your family is Puerto Rican, you're Puerto Rican too :)
Jay_ro I'm full Puerto Rican don't tell me if I am or not.
XxFox_TalexX :3 thank u
Black & Puerto Rican ( basically black ) but my pop ( grandfather ... he's Puerto Rican and Indian ) his family lives in Philly and most of them have moved so far away from their Puerto Rican roots & growing up I hated it. I always wanted to know Spanish and take summer trips to the island etc but it didn't happen. So, I grew up trying to teach myself the Puerto Rican traditions / culture etc. & something really funny is that people call me Dominican all the time ! & im just like nope 🇵🇷
Yeah girl we all have to educate ourselves as much as possible!
Natalia Garcia honestly ! Btw your videos really help. Please keep doing what you're doing beautiful ❤️
Clearly Ik black and Puerto Rican is the same thing .... but the difference is that Puerto Rico is an island/state and Africa is a continent & I love the skin I’m in so please do not ever try to come for me because I will gladly put you in your place. & the purpose of my comment was to say that I’m trying to experience a different form of culture and learning btw Ik black is a color but it is also a term used to describe the African American race
704ondeck aww that’s so sweet ! You’ll learn quicker that way. I wish I had Someone in my family to help me.
Tiy Land already my nigga same shit
THIS VIDEO IS EVERYTHING 👏🏽😩
Simply Shanalee oye mami ☺
I'm half Puerto Rican, lived in the states all my life and don't speak spanish regularly, but i knew every one of those words. wish i had the accent. i love it! thanks for the video nena!
BORICUA 😍😍❤😍😍
Puerto Rican's r the Perfect 👌🏾 mix PUÑETA
Bodak Yellow ikr
its proven Puerto Rican women have perfect genes. And Italian men have perfect genes. I'm Italian and single looking for a PR woman.
Tony Incognito Yeahh we are good looking 😍😀😄
Annette where are you from?
Tony Incognito I’m Puerto Rican.
I was born in PR and still live here!!
Soy boricua PUÑETA
Us boricuas are perfection 🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷❤
Me encanta este acento 😍 soy mexicana y si quiero aprender más de PR
i have seen so many videos about Dominican slang and it's so close to what we Puerto Rican's say but so glad i finally saw a video about us 🇵🇷🇵🇷🙌🏼
I so wish I was born on the island too or at least raised on the island! Every time I meet a Boricua and they ask me what part I'm from, I just say "my mom is from here and my dad is from there". But I'm Boricua tho! 😑
You are no less Puerto Rican and to hell with anyone that says otherwise.
They say "chévere" in all of the Caribbean, Venezuela, and in Yucatán, México, In Yucatán, they also refer to a baby as "nene" whether male or female. They also pronounce "nene" on the last part of the word. For example, ne-NE.
Ive been looking for this type of videos for a long time!! Im trying to learn Spanish here in Japan, and nobody around me speaks Spanish at all but I find it pointless to pay for Spanish class since its crazy expensive over here. Thank you and I hope you will continue upload vids like this!! Mucho gracias;)
I've seen many so called PRican videos trying to discuss our unique vocabulary/slang but miss the mark....this one is more accurate....I just want to make some points clear..... PRicans DO NOT say.... "ahorita", it's "horita". "Revolú" is distinctly PRican. Other distinctly PRican slang words are "mano" which has the same spelling as the word hand in Spanish but "mano" in PRican slang is short for hermano.... meaning a friend. Another PRican slang term for friend, ect is.... "pana". "Acicalao" is when a guy just got out of the barber, he got a fresh haircut or beard trimmed. "Corillo" means a group or gathering of friends hanging out or going somewhere to hang out.
"Mostro" o "caballo" is said to a male who is real good at something he's doing.
"Paquetero" o "embustero" means a liar
"Loco" O "loquillo".... is what guys call each other, this is also distinctly PRican slang too.
Yeah great video but I wouldn't call most of the words "slang" slang is more what you mentioned along with raitru I took it all the way back!
trompetayritmo what about vete a meter feca pa otro lao, y vete a meterle las cabras a otro 😂
I always thought we used Chacho as short for muchacho.
Chacho IS short for muchacho. This one got away from her.
That's what I thought too
Eachone Teachone doble entender ...
Yep....”chacho” from muchacho.
Esta en lo cierto
Natalia I'm ready for my lessons When I go back to Puerto Rico I want to speak Spanish mixed with 🇵🇷 slang . Salute to you Natalia & the Boricuas I love y'all
Puerto Ricans aren't Spanish and Hispanic and Latino until given back to Spain and getting independence only from Spain your Americans now
Natalia.....Thank You. Very Nice..AND very Classy. I am Puerto Rican from NY with Cuban roots. I really enjoyed the Slang and really laugh to myself as I remembered some of the Slang words from Cuba and Puerto Rico which I used as a kid giving my relatives a Red face! My grandmother telling me...""Oye granuja....estas aqui y no aya! Cuidadito con la lengua!" Hahaha.
Henry Agueros you are basically Cuban and Rican
Amazingly awesome video!✊ so much more pride in my culture🇵🇷 you did an outstanding job gorgeous😉❤
I found this video by accident, and I'm so happy I did. You are my spirit animal girl! And this video is everything! Wepaaaaaaaa
I wish more people would learn about, appreciate, embrace, and celebrate the vast beauty that is all things Puerto Rico! The culture, the music, and... OMG the food! Language is a beautiful bridge. Thank you for this video. Hopefully it will start someone on a voyage of beautiful discovery, appreciation and respect!
Lmao that was cute.. Reminds me of the other day when I was laughing with a Puerto Rican term/phrase someone told me.. "Me cago en na!" lmaoo it always makes me laugh it's so PR. We use Bombao, Bregar & Rebulu in DR too! 😇
Sonyi Lopez 😂😂 its true that's so PR too!! Miss you boo!!!
Sonyi Lopez my dad uses that phrase alot!! Lol
What does that meanv
@@davienierivas6692 is a phrase that it's used when things are not going the right way. My dad uses it when he tells us to do something and we do the opposite, so he would say, "pero me cago en na, tu no me escuchastes"..or when he forgot an essential item for a project.
Merari Singh ohhh, thank u!
We have a similar term in Brazil for Revolu! It's Rebuliço and it means the same thing 😊😊
Edwin Oliveras . Gracias y muuuucho éxito !!!
LMFAOO WHEN YOU WERE INTRODUCING THE SECOND WORD, I WAS LIKE 100% SHE'S GONNA SAY "ABOMBAO." I'm weak!!! Such a good video, super late I know
Lived in Orlando my whole life & I swear it's like mini Puerto Rico over here 😂 "PuertoLando" Besides hearing it from family already, I also here those words everywhere I go in public, it's pretty unavoidable over here. Don't forget "Obligao" "Afuego" "Que es la qué hay" "Socio or Socia" 😂
ninel s i live in Orlando it's only becoming more Ricanfilled 😍
That's how Tampa is when I used to live in Florida
Dan Smith big mad or lil mad?
ninel s I believe you mean "Boricuaville" jeje🤓😂😂🏝️🇵🇷🇵🇷
Dan Smith Could you try typing that again, but this time in English? Thanks
I am Dominican and we say most of the world that boricuas say it ... 😊
Harolyn Jaquez Exactly we say most of those words 🇩🇴
Harolyn Jaquez Acho
We are neighbors!!
Harolyn Jaquez yo afirmo😀😎🌴🇵🇷🇩🇴🌴🎆
Exactly why u aren’t Puerto Rican it’s boriquans stupid
Love the eyebrow highlight 😍 and thank you for this video I am learning Spanish and I’m in love with the Puerto Rican accent
Puerto Ricans are very down to earth, your personality reminds me of some of my camp counselors as a kid , most of which were nuyorican I will never forget all the school yard games they would play with the kids , being good with children seems to be another Puerto Rican trait , very strong maternal energy ...God bless
Don't let my profile pic fool you. I'm a Cubarican 🇨🇺/🇵🇷
I'm also an Elvis Fan and I just came across your videos. Love them!!!
Thank you for this video! I been telling the Mexican clients at my job if they want someone speaks better Spanish to call them back ahorrita I meant later when I get an actual translator I didn't know they thought I meant right away explains a lot! Lol
Wow...you just refreshed a bunch of words that I used to know as a kid but got "Americanized" and forgot all about them! Thanks :)
This is a great video. I definitely learned some new words. Thanks for your help👑
yasss boricua pride! 👌👌
robie bag whats wrong with puerto ricans im puerto rican she puerto rican like tf back off theres puerto ricans people in these comments to es que tu si estas brutal
robie bag 😂😂😂😂 no one gives a fuck go outside open a curtain
robie bag WTF 😂
robie bag How would you like it if people said you married goats?
Orita means later, ahorita is actually now, at least in the part of PR that I live in, pero ahorita no se dice mucho, dicen ahora y ya
Soy de Cabo Rojo. Aqui decimos "horita" for later y "ahora" for right now
Hector Figueroa My fam the same way
I just love your videos!! I'm learning Spanish and you're helping so much!
I literally typed in “boricua” and this was the first video to come up lol. Had fun learning lol, subbed
I am from Gran Canaria (coincidentally in a place called Puerto Rico) we say a lot of these. Muchas gracias por educarme sobre la cultura puertorriqueña! ❤️
Puerto Rican here, born and raised in the Island 😉 very good video congratulations for explaining it so well!!! Only two things: "Brutal" means either something that is "super cool" or plain Brutal just like in English. 'Acho and 'Chacho, are both short for Muchacho(a) those are abbreviations forms. The difference is in how we use those in a sentence. When we say: 'Acho, it's more closely related to "Hey" in slang, or as in "Hey man, what's up" (' Acho man). On the other hand, 'Chacho(a), is used directly as short for "Muchacho(a)". Hope that helps 🙂🤗 thank you so much for making the video. We indeed need more videos, that are related to our Puerto Rican culture, comedy and more!
Ay Dios Mio, I never knew how to spell revolu. Thank you, LOL I was raised with all this. I say horita to my husband, and mother-in-law who are Ecuadorian. We always get confused. You are awesome, you got this stuff on point. I LOVE BEING PUERTO RICAN.
Watching your videos to get ready for my PR trip in a few weeks! 💗
I know it's kind of late to comment on this, but in Catalan "nen" means niño and "nena" means niña, so maybe Catalan immigrants brought slang like that into Puerto Rican Spanish.
Salute 💯✊🏽 !!!
Keep Representing Our culture ,& Beautiful Women ...🔥
I loved this video... I love watching videos about my country!!
I love you! Not only are you drop dead gorgeous but you’re helping me connect with my homeland in a fun way.
I’m so glad you mentioned chacho.
I actually say it cause my father says it all the fucking time. I tried googling it but I couldn’t find nothing so I thought he made it up 😂
I’ve always wanted a channel like this. Thank you so much🙏🏽
Spoken like a true Boricua!! I love it;) I would definitely like to see more Puerto Rico related topics on here I don't know of anyone else that is doing that and it's very important to keep our culture alive. I'm P. Rican born and raised in NYC but my parents as well as some of my siblings were born on the island and I myself lived there for a while during my childhood en el campo, soy jibara! LOL . Love your channel
Thank you so much love!!!
I never noticed that other Spanish cultures don't say this words - but you're right! And I totally remember when I first heard someone say ahorita to mean right now and I was like whaaat?? Hahaha xo
Yadira Laguerre What is ahorita mean for other cultures? I speak Mexican spanish and i know it as right now
Yaaas girl this video was on point!!! I'm half Puerto Rican half Guatemalan but I grew up more around the Puerto Rican side. Great video. I subbed =). I live in NY also!!
I really like this video. Because you give the correct and exact meaning to each word or puertorrican word. That means that you took the time to investigate the meaning of each words. I’m a puertorrican living here in Puerto Rico and proud to hear about you. My beautiful puertorrican!!!
Great video, my Puerto Rican family is from Hilo Hawaii. I'm sure we've all been told that story of why we ended up there. What's the song at the beginning.
I'm Guatemalan and my mom say revolu to describe messes or outta control situations lol . I just corrected my Puerto Rican husband with abombao cause he says boombao and he told he can do that cause Puerto Rican's cut letters sometimes 😂. Which is true !
Celene im guatarican 😍
Celene hahaha my Puerto Rican family says bombao
We say bombao too lol in Rican
I say abombao
This was such a fun video!
oh my gosh, you are so incredibly beautiful and I am sooo happy I found your channel! I realized lately that it's really difficult for me to find any youtubers who are blatantly puerto rican that I can understand since idk a lot of spanish. Time to binge on your videos!
omggg girl thank you soo much! You are so beautiful too!!! :)))))
im soo happy i found your channel, wepa! I dont speak much spanish tho but im learning .
Thanks so much girl!!!
BORIQUAS LETS REPRESENT!!!!
Currently in a Spanish Phonetics and Dialectology class and for our final presentation we have to present on a country. I'm including part of your video in my presentation and then putting together a small Kahoot asking questions about the slang! Mi palabra favorita es Cafre para llamar a alguien "ghetto" lol pero pienso que Cafre es Puerto Rican slang porque mi amigos Mexicanos dicen "naco"
Brinea Lewis acho si, super cafre LOL
Si yo tambien creo que cafre solo lo usan los boricuas. Aqui en DR se dice Barrial.
Lisbeth Martinez Interesante 🤔
Lisbeth Martinez actually in PR the actual ghetto is called barriada, cafre o' cafretona is referring to a person acting ghetto.
Brinea Lewis cafre is legit one of my favorite Puerto Rican words. Brings me so much joy.
I love you vibe and your videos are totally cool and thank you for teaching me Puerto Rican Spanish Puerto Rican myself trying to learn hope this goes well thanks for the video
Abombao- we use it lol all the time. Yess!!! Loved ur video!
I think "Ay Bendito" meant in a different way. 😂 love this! Nice to see more authentic boricua gurus.
Bianca Gonzalez ay bendito is kinda like awwww poor you.
I know that. I'm from Puerto Rico. I was speaking to the context of the song she was referring to.
NickyBenHer83 Bianca Gonzalez more like saying "Oh Lord"; "¡Ay Dios!" 😁😁
Guess who got a new subscriber for being Puerto Rican like me 😂🇵🇷 boricua morena!!!🇵🇷🇵🇷

I don't think so she sounds pure Nuyorican 100% Rican Taina look very pretty🌠☝💞
Natalia Garcia si cuando hablas español lento suena boricua pero cuando hablas el español rápido pareces dominicana
Puerto Ricans sound like that in Chicago and on the island fuck are u talking about
"ACHO or CHACHO" comes from MUCHACHO.....LIKE SAYING MUCHACHO QUE TE PASA or CHACHO que te pasa! todo lo demas esta CHEVERE!!!!! just correcting """chacho/acho"""
Aw I love this video . I'm or and learning Spanish and I like learning slang but when I look it up I can only find Colombian slang or dr slang. I was hype when I saw this !!! Lol I hope you make more

Great video ! Loved it ! 🇵🇷
Mixed Boricua, love the PR slang translation...I’ve heard a lot of these terms growing up! ❤️ 🇵🇷
We say “algarete” also: eso está bien algarete ( that is really messed up; that is really crazy), or, ese/a tipo/a está bien algarete ( that guy/girl is really crazy). Great video! ☺️👍🏽👏🏽👏🏽 I also wanted to point out that we say “horita” not “ahorita”. But, the rest was perfect! 👌🏽
Thank you, Natalia! If you decide to do another of these videos, please include Spanish subtitles. I don't know how to use the new spanish words in conversation without knowing the before and after words.
San Juan was already on the top of my traveling list!! Quiero mucho viajar allí !! Chévere y muchas gracias!

You definitely should teach more puerto Rican Spanish. I grew up around a lot of puerto rican people and love their way of speaking Spanish.
Puerto Ricans aren't Spanish and Hispanic and Latino until given back to Spain and getting independence only from Spain your Americans now
we don't say ahorita (right now) ever... just horita (later)..
Wireliz Soto Ya ella explico eso... Eoe
I really like this video. I too am Puerto Rican. I was born on the island, and moved to Buffalo, NY shortly after. Unfortunately, I 'lost' my Spanish growing up. This video is helping me get it back. Would love to see more. Thanks!
I love it.. I love knowing. things about my Puerto Rican roots.
