    Welcome to iTripReport's flight reviews, which I focus on reviewing both the soft product and hard product of airlines around the globe. I strive to give you guys a first person perspective of different aspects of the flight. Including the ground service, onboard service, and those views that come with the flight. As you can see, I record quite a lot of the experience to make sure I record what you want to watch. As always, thank you so much for watching.

    I flew Club Europe from LHR-LIS return. On the outbound flight I was in row 1 which was amazing, you get a much better service as on the way back I was row 2. But both journeys were amazing, what BA lacks in a business class product is made up by the service you receive. I firmly believe BA have some of the best cabin crew in the industry.

    Now try flying that A320 In Club Europe to Greece for almost 4 hours. You would feel a lot differently about it. Food is cool and all but the hard product is what matters most. A 3-3 seat layout is crazy for a premium cabin on a narrow body. I'll take the 2-2 in the US all day with a cookie and you can keep the 3-3 with the food.
    I will agree that the BA flight attendants are amazing. I'll take those over the ones AA has all day LOL

      @peterfinn6098 Před 2 lety +1

      The AA crew love the Brits though, they know that a full can of tonic can do 2 mini gin bottles and seem to be generous giving us the booze since they know we are boozers.

    Im glad you enjoyed BA and I am sure it is better than in the US since the airlines are based on different models since full deregulation. BA were even better at one point, serving full hot breakfasts on 35 minute flights down to London as was their rival British Midland with even business class on UK domestic flights.

    we flew BA Club Europe in Feb Gatwick to Tenerife good experience with good service and food, the service as l said was great and the steward was brilliant he kept bringing us the white wine (endless rivers) so many that we put 4 bottles into our hand luggage for later.
    Our next rtn will be in Feb 2020 looking forward to that but better the day after BA 777 to Punta Cana in business class

    Thanks for uploading this video. I'll be flying the British Airways A320 Club Europe from London Gatwick to Amsterdam in March and didn't realize the seats had coach legroom and width, which was disappointing to find out. However, I am hoping the meal will keep me distracted enough on my short flight to not notice. Though, I am 6' 3", 245lbs so I might have to coax my wife to take the window seat.

    I flew BA Club back in the late 80s when it really was something special on LGW to Gibraltar, although a 737-200 it was awesome.
    More recently flew LGW to Malaga on A320 and seriously disappointing with everything - the onboard service, catering and baggage handling led me to complain to BA - the only saving grace was that it was such a cheap upgrade that I didn’t feel too cheated.

  • @UAordfan
    @UAordfan Před 4 lety +1

    the thing is-in the US flight attendants aren’t even allowed out of their seats until 10,000 feet. On a flight like this FAA regulations render it absolutely impossible to provide a service like this. If all service items aren’t collected before descending below 10,000 feet as well, the FA’s can be in serious trouble if not fined by the FAA. It’s unfortunate but just the way it is in the US, nothing the airlines can do about it

    Interesting that you are an American of Mexican descent,flying to France on a French made aircraft(Toulouse) flown by a British carrier.Noticed the leading edges down, at the gate at LHR,odd configuration.VERY impressed by your inflight service on such a short flight,roughly like flying IAH-DFW,such a meal service would be impossible on US carriers.I'm guessing you flew over Le Bourget airport on final approach--how did you get from CDG to your hotel? Seeing that you arrived late afternoon,did you have a French-style dinner sometime later?

    I've done a few occasional flights on BA Club Europe. Personally I wouldn't pay for European Business class unless it was a celebratory occasion or a connection to/from a long-haul flight package. The BA460/461 flight is the best flight for Club Europe as its operated by Boeing 777, not an Airbus A320-series. Whilst the seating is a bit of let down, at least unlike the USA, we get lounge access- I'm always down for that!

    The real problem is that service levels on US domestic flights, even in the joke that calls itself First Class, have fallen so low that even this compares favourably to it. The service on this flight was about right and quite acceptable except that the lack of a pre-departure drink and no offer of a newspaper was disappointing. Not sure why the crew took so long to actually begin the service though. The seating in Club Europe is an absolute disgrace. In the past the BA aircraft had more legroom in the forward rows. The adoption of the low cost carrier 30 inch pitch anywhere aboard the aircraft is not good but to have it in Club Europe is an absolute disgrace and part of BA joining the race to the bottom. One thing that is very telling is the fact that on what should be a prime business route with a large amount of high yield traffic, business class on this aircraft is 4 rows maximum 16 seats.

  • @diogoampinheiro
    @diogoampinheiro Před 4 lety

    There are two reasons why boarding gates are announced with minimal notice:
    i. Commercial: More time is spent shopping, giving Heathrow Airport Ltd. extra revenues
    ii. Operational: Many aircraft are operating on a minimum turnaround time (A319/A320: 45min; A321: 50min). Due to LHR being very tight in terms of capacity, stands are very limited, and sometimes there are last minute stand changes, affecting both the inbound and outbound flights. To avoid having passengers at the wrong gate, these are usually published when there is confirmation of stand. This is especially true if a stand change needs to be done from T5C to T5B, T5C to T5A and T5B to T5A as train only run T5A-->T5B-->T5C.

    Flying this out tomorrow and I'm quite bothered by the seat set-up. I am one of those that doesn't care at all about food / drink during the flight as I don't eat that kind of food, nor I drink anything apart from water, so I guess there's 0 appeal to me in BA's business class.

    Normally the lounge dragons will quite happily tell you the gate your flight is operating from, way before HAL update the screens in the terminal.
    BA's new Club Europe catering definitely isn't standard in Europe, it's far better than most business class catering on short haul European flights.

    I think it's ridiculous that BA can pass club Europe as business class it's actually shambolic. The seats are narrow, food isn't too great and should I mention that there isn't any inflight entertainment system!?
    For the amount that you are paying, there should be at least more legroom instead you get the same seating accomodation as the normal economy flight. I understand that in business class, the middle seat doesn't get occupied and that there is a barrier however, last week I went to Turkey in club Europe and the middle seat had no cover on it

    @12:00 crew instructions that the window shades must be open for landing. As they should be. I’m not sure if it’s an EU safety reg. but makes perfect sense and in stark contrast to the US where some customers keep their shades closed the entire journey with no crew intervention.

I think the meals have been very good with Do & Co plus the crews have been happy and fun and really made the flight. They just kept giving us champagne and other drinks constantly.
