    Welcome to iTripReport's flight reviews, which I focus on reviewing both the soft product and hard product of airlines around the globe. I strive to give you guys a first person perspective of different aspects of the flight. Including the ground service, onboard service, and those views that come with the flight. As you can see, I record quite a lot of the experience to make sure I record what you want to watch. As always, thank you so much for watching.

    My Wife and I flew with Air Transat from Glasgow to Toronto Pearson in August 2018, we were very impressed with the whole experience, the crew were amazing and couldn't do enough for us. we are booked again for next August, this time we are flying Club Class. We both would highly recommend Air Transat to anyone thinking of flying to Canada 10 out of 10 from us 👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

    Have flown from UK to Canada a lot of times, always use Transat as they beat everyone else in my opinion on this transatlantic crossing. Only flown once in club class and that was their old aircraft. This new one is much improved I can see. Staff have always been wonderful. As far as quiet engine, yes please on a nine hour, or eleven hour flight, even more so when flying overnight. Good review of the flight.

    I have flown with Air Transat many times, but always in the Club section (which costs more than coach). I like the special check-in at the airport, the legroom offered in that section of the plane as well as the food served there.

    Air Transat is a good airline. My spouse and I have flown them to Scotland 3 times in the past 5 years (2017, 2018, & 2022), 2017 in Club Class, 2018 in Premium Economy, and 2022 in Regular Economy. The cost of Club Class (even with all the amenities provided) makes it prohibitive to flying it on a regular basis. Premium Economy is a better option for the price than Club Class (even without all the amenities) as the seats were more comfortable than Regular Economy. On any type of long-haul flight, the more seat space you have, the more comfortable and quicker the flight is.

    I am French Canadian and I ALWAYS use Air Transat, NEVER Sunwing, NEVER WestJet, and certainly NOT Air Canada. For my part, it's a personal choice coming out of bad experience with Sunwing. Why not AC, it's simply a choice to snob AC since they simply don't care about the French factor compared to Transat, and also Transat is from Quebec, so an easy choice.
    Glad you enjoyed your trip with AT.

Pain can be unbearable, so twin aisle aircraft is beneficiary to stretch & walk around for excercise..Not flown single aisle aircraft for many years....Remembering Canada 3000 with A330 aircraft @ half the price in 80/90s. .Long gone those great days of truly low cost airline fares!

    Looked like a great flight Emil 👍🏻. Had an Air Canada Signature Class (with lie flat seats) booked FLL - YYZ but then had to cancel the trip. Just FYI … Air Canada is utilizing their A330’s between FLL and both YYZ and YUL with Signature Class featuring lie flat seats should you ever want to present a comparison between the two 🤨

    • @poshcatT
      @poshcatT Před rokem

      Have taken both of these flights, both directions but to/from YUL. IMO AT (Air Transat) is much better value in Club/J class. Biggest disadvantage the AT flights have are no PreCheck (even for a Nexus) member and no lounge access (on the YUL side, neither have lounges available at FLL). AC lie flats are superior but for a shorter flight of less than 6hrs, the AT seat is quite comfortable and the service, food and amenities is better on AirTransat flight.

    At 18:11 in the video I noticed what looks like a special tract over the last row on the left side separating business and economy.
    What is that?
    It looks like it could be used for a special privacy curtain over that row of seats. Is that for VIPS or is it for passengers being med-evaced back to Canada? I remember once seeing a video of an AirTransat flight from Portugal to Toronto where there was a patient being med-evacted back to Canada. Obviously their condition was not critical but they required oxygen and special attendants so they had removed a row of seats and had a curtain around the gurney. I wonder if that is what this could be for? Air Transat has long served the Portuguese-Canadian population. Remember the famous Air Transat flight that ran out of fuel over the Atlantic and made a successful dead-stick landing at it's destination the Azores!
    Anyway just some observations. That looked like a great flight on what is a Vacation Charter airline. I only flew them once in the '90's on an L1011 to Vegas. I'll never forget the cabin - it looked like it had been repainted with a paint roller (no kidding)!. They have come a long way and today it looks like Air Transat can give Air Canada some run for their money with that kind of service. No wonder Skytrax awarded Air Transat the top award for a leisure airline. I would fly Air Transat any day if for no other reason than the exceptional glider skills of its pilots! LOL

    I have one complaint. I we booked Air Transat club class YYZ to PORTO. Three days before departure they bumped us down to an economy level and on arrival at Pearson could not find our reservation and bumped us down again to the very worst seat. They gave us CAN$350.00 per seat recompense which I have yet to use. No problem on return

    Nice report. Nice C class for domestic. But if that is the hard product for a 9 hr. flight, it´s rather lacking. Hopefully the fares compensate for that, because it´s definitely a Premium Economy, not a C class. My experiences with Air Transat have been on the horrendous side of things, so this report is a nice surprise. However if the money I have to fork over is the same as other carriers on a transat, I´d definitely go over to the competition.

      My family flew from Toronto to Paris pre pandemic using club class and back with Air Transit and enjoyed the experience. Along with the amenities shown we had slippers and a blanket. My meal was hot but did sub with an equally good meal. The included alcoholic drinks were never ending! It was nice to have priority seating during takeoff and landing. The forward washroom appeared to be for club class only. You get what you pay for, but once you travel this way, you never want to do it any other way.

    • @maxou5757
      @maxou5757 Před 2 lety

      It's called ''club class'' which is the equivalent of business class (not first class) and it definitely is on par with larger carriers. The upgrade from economy usually cost around 200-300$ extra, which is a bargain since larger airlines business class will usually go for 1000$ extra over economy.

    Great trip report! Air Transat looks like they offer an amazing service ( even though it did not match their website which is understandably disappointing). My only concern is the passenger in the seat across the aisle from you by the window had his seat reclined on take off and landing and the crew appeared to do nothing! Not good!

    • @davidk3729
      @davidk3729 Před 2 lety

      Cabin crew will not tell a seat recliner to sit up. I had a guy recline his seat in my face on Manchester to New York, Virgin Atlantic flight. As soon as the seat belt sign went off immediately after take off he dropped the seat back, maybe it was broken because it was really back. I gently pushed it upright. When I removed my hands it fell back. No reaction from him. Didn’t fancy seven more hours of this so did It twice more and then let it drop back with a bang. He didn’t react but his wife gave me a mouthful. He kept it upright after some discussion. If cabin crew had to intervene I’m aware I’d have to back off.
