    14.83 is excellent mpg for a 460.

1996 f250 multi port 460 with my 32ft camper traveling 221 miles at 50 mph i get 14.7 mpg. with no trailer traveling at 60 mph i get 15 mpg. it does have a lot to do with how you drive them.

Great job showing and telling, and I am now rebuilding my 1990 f350 long bed with a 460 fuel injection.and I have headman headers for it, and I am porting my heads now so I hope it runs better. I know it will run better, for the money I’ll be putting in to it and the new injectors. Well see ya next time see ya bye bye

My 95 f250 ext cab 2wd long bed gets 10 mgp. I dropped the tailgate, drove 63 mph with flat hwy and ac on. That trip got 17.8 mpg. Thats 198k miles 460 stock. Now I'm shooting for the goal of 23 hwy at 70 mph

The fuel returns to both tanks if your using the rear it returns to the rear same for the front.

  • @michaelethangross3395

I like the way that truck has both a "Check Engine" and an "Engine" light (probably oil pressure warning or something else). I think my eyes would pop out and I wouldn't know what to do if they both came on at the same time 🤯I also like what you said about the electric car parked near a puddle and what we would think about electric cars - I have a an F250 with a 460 also so I didn't think too much of electric cars .

I'll have to pop an injector out and take a look. I have a supercharger on mine and am running 35s, so I don't expect great mileage (I'm getting about 9 now), but I have to change out the fuel rails anyway, so I might as well check. Thanks for the vid - good info.

I’ve got a 1993 f250 460 full emissions/egr/smog/o2 delete. Factory manifold with bigger pipes dumped under cab. 285/75r16s. Zf5 transmission. I get 7 mpg at the very best

Tire size difference is @ %3.5. multiply the odometer reading by 1.035 to get your actual mileage.

  • @Undertaker_Bass_Ride

Love the truck, need to straight pipe it now 😅

Very interesting results. I have three 460 Fords and I've mostly accepted that there isn't much you can do about the fuel mileage. I'm interested to get your opinion on the low end torque after removing the air silencers from the intake. Some claim that these tubes not only reduce intake noise, but also improve the velocity of the air at low speeds providing better low RPM torque. Did you notice any difference in low speed torque (1500-2200 RPM) after removing the air horns? My latest truck is a crew cab, 4x4, E4OD so I don't think it will see the same mileage you've achieved, but I'm curious to see how it is once I get it on the road. I'm going to weigh it empty, as I'd imagine it would be a fair bit heavier than a regular cab pickup.

Have you considered the fan hub to e-fan conversion?

Ok math time stock tires 31.7 if the door panel says 235/85/r16 your “33” are actually 32.8
