No-one behaved like this, the whole agenda of these 'programmes' were to make you ashamed to be English, to knock any tribalism of your own out of you while glorifying and supporting others in theirs, just like Garnett and Rigsby and the rest, overblown exaggerated xenophobes written by socialists to shame you into hating your own and open your arms to the world and welcome the new voting block, you fell for it hook line and sinker, now you're a muzzled 2nd class citizen in the country your fathers fought for, congrats

Implausible trick to have Eddie down at the pub. The series is really more about one upmanship. Looked at now bits of the script show their age and are quite embarrassing.
I think people seem to focus on the allegations of racism, the political, correctness etc and get defensive about it. Put all that, which I couldn’t give a monkeys about, aside and it’s a bloody awful show! Terrible, writing, terrible acting, cheap looking sets, the very worst of the 1970s.
Creepy in the end, ain't it! Joan to kiss Bill, her neighbour, on the lips, and in front of Eddie, her husband. But when she does to Eddie, she pastes it on his cheek. I'm nauseated with the act of it. In Africa, you don't even hug another man's wife, moreso in his presence. It doesn't mean you're not sociable or anything of that sort; it means your moral faculty is in place.
A cultural low point in British comedy , their was also a show called the Dustbin Men and many others that ITV produced for the knuckle scrappers of the nation. Awful. ITV made the worst comedies, appealing to the lowest common denominator.
