  • Adidas Adizero Adios PRO 3 AFTER 100 Miles (Indestructible) - welcome back to another video and today I am sharing with you my thoughts on the adidas adizero adios pro 3 running shoe after 100 miles. The word that comes to mind with this shoe is indestructible... now I have it over 100 miles I feel like this shoe could and would go on and on and on... the build quality is fantastic and I have to be honest, it really is a big favourite of mine... but not for racing!
    How many miles have you got in your adidas adizero adios pro 3?

    I have found this shoe on sale and bought it twice ! I love the midsole ! Upper I have made work just fine. I am not a tiny lightweight runner ; I am 200 lbs and over six feet tall and muscular and some shoes designed for very lightweight runners don’t work for me; this one has has been just brilliant and durable !

    Hello from Athens Greece! A massive adidas fan! I have done 140miles with my pros 3 and they are like new... mostly for races from 5ks to half marathons and done also and one marathon with them. Great shoe for my feet 14 UK size.. always finish my runs with relaxed feet and no pain issues to feet or knees. Always keep them in the box, always clean them after every run and always rotate never two days in the row... that's why they are like new... lots of sole under even for my size (6,5" / 208 p.) Fantastic for marathon from the first till the last mile... with no different step during the race, it holds the same in all the race duration. Now I have also takumi Sen 8 which I love them even more... great midsole but even better upper than the pro 3.
    Keep up the excellent work! Tall men can run!

    Lightstrike is by far the most durable super foam out there, the foam doesn’t even reach its best till you’ve got 50 miles in it & then it’s just so consistent. Love it.

    These are the best shoes I have ever owned. The true G.O.A.T for me. Also to add I like that extra wide foam because my form isn’t very good so I need that extra compensation where as Nike isn’t as forgiving and when I wear them I feel I really have to be nailed in all the time on good form which for me is hard!

    Close to 650km in my Pro 3 at the moment and they have just began to fail on inside of the left shoe the upper has started to rip away from the midsole. But I have to agree about Lightstike Pro the stuff is phenomenal! It seems to just bed in after about 50km and just kept going. Hopefully the V4 sorts out the lacing keeps the rest of the shoe the same 🎉

      750km in my takumi sen 8 and also the upper has hole on medial side of the forefoot area. but the midsole and outsole are still great. if the upper was more durable they could easily get past 1000km

    Just did my first run tonight in mine that arrived last week. Absolute bargain at £138!
    Really impressed was 5x800m intervals at runing club, ran there which was nearly 3 miles and they just feel ace, bouncing along but feel stable.
    Did a pb for 0.5m in them and they feel like they keep you at pace despite feeling like you're flagging

    Just checking and 162 miles for me and doing fine although I did a race a 10K in my oldest UK 13.5 VF1 with now 335 miles on them on Sunday so got a way to go yet :) I kind of feel in our UK 13.5 size this AP3 is our "real" super trainer and have used this quite a lot of late for longish runs but have done some "speed" sessions in it. I think the "problem" for us is these are just a bit heavier than the VF1/VF3 and EP3 and to me they don't feel as lively. Indeed 30g heavier over the VF3. I did "squeeze" into the AP1 & AP2 in a UK 12.5 and interestingly they have chopped about 10g off the AP3 compared to the AP2 but I did not find the AP2 a little more "lively" albeit just a bit unstable. Interesting point about shoes getting wider and more stable which agree is a turn off for me but I do have a narrow foot. Does beg the question though of why they do this as the elites aren't seemingly using "old" shoes or special versions.

    • @TheFODRunner
      @TheFODRunner  Před rokem +1

      Yeah I think this is a shoe you really notice the weight difference in and we have been spoilt by the VF1 really…. For training though they’ve been a great option and you’ve got more miles in than me so you’re doing well with them!

  • @jkhoudini
    @jkhoudini Před rokem +3

    Mines still have a lot of pop in the midsole after 300mi. The upper finally had a big rip on the lateral side where it connects to the midsole, strangely exactly where there is the extra thin reinforced fabric section from about the pinkie toe to the mid foot.

    Using Prime X v1 for over 1500km. Still amazingly good. Just need to rinse them with water so as salt from my sweat does not degrade the insole. That been said, this beast just do not allow me to have an excuse to try out other shoes....

    I have the AAAP v1 and v2. The v1 might be my favourite shoe of all time. I can remember the first time i took them out and it was like having wild horses tied to my feet and I literally laughed out loud at how they made you gun it so hard. Just pure joy.
    The v2 i have a love/hate relationship with. I've never known a shoe that made me feel i might turn an ankle as much as that one. Its always been in the back of my mind when wearing it.And yet its a shoe that despite the crazy instability delivers.
    I'm so tempted to get the v3 now its appearing in sales. Got to say that the wider base does appeal, even if it sounds like the wild horses have been reined in a bit !

    Yeh I had to wait a bit to get these as I’m a 14.5 🦶. Done just over 100 miles in them, mainly keep them for racing, done a couple of Half’s & two full races. Apart from some wear on the heel, on the left shoe the rubber has come off the heel so there’s a patch of just foam, they are still looking good. Find the Boston 12 a little more comfortable/stable so not sure if to just wear them for my upcoming marathon or use the Pro 3 again.

    I've got the Adizero Pro 2 and Pro 3. I'd go as far to say, the Pro 2 is probably my favourite running shoe of all time. I'm warming to the Pro 3 but i have huge problems with the lacing system, its either too tight and painful. Or too loose and slightly dangerous. Definitely needs fixing in the Pro 4.

  • @joemilewicz6847
    @joemilewicz6847 Před rokem +2

    I had the pro 2 and ran 417 miles in them mainly as a long run shoe. After 350 miles you get valleys in the outsole underneath the rods and one of the rods snapped which is a common fault, this may be different for heal strikers as I midfoot strike. I feel it was a great long workout shoe as on the firmer side without being too firm but would not use them as a race shoe. Vaporfly and Metaspeed sky are both faster although the Metaspeed is not as comfortable underfoot for me. I would definitely consider version 3 for a long distance training shoe.

    I really like the sensation of bounce from Takumi Sen 8. However, Pro 3 did not give me same feeling. Maybe carbon rods vs fiberglass rods in Takumi is the difference. I don't know. It is cushioned but I don't get much assist in return. For me it is a shoe that is good for those 18-20mi training runs. I prefer my Alphafly 1, Vaporfly 2 and Endorphin Pro 3 over these.

    any cracking of the rubber, I have had horrible luck with continental rubber cracking within a few months. I stopped buying adidas because of. I live in the desert but my house stays at 40 percent humidity year round so I don't get it. Non puma grip puma rubber does it too, that's what made me dubious of the rubber compound actually being a premium product.

    100 miles is not much. What's the current progress after 400?

    Agree with this shoe being geared for longer distances, just really lacks the pop over 5k/10k races that you’d get from a vaporfly 1&2. I’ll certainly use my pro 3’s for long runs where I’ll be looking at a certain pace and longer races from 10 miles and up.

    I am faster in adizero pro 3 then alphafly or vaporfly. Now surprisingly I have faster times in metaspeed sky at the shorter 5k distances. Anything longer then a 5k, I grab the AP3.

    I do have all versions and the only 1 I really enjoy is V1..it has the best upper and the cushioning is better..I have broken the rods in each of the other shoes..tho it doesn't seem to change the ride it is very distracting to have that clicking sound at every step..I have had other runners ask me if I have a stone caught in my shoes cos they can hear it same as I can..V3,prime x and Takumi Sen might be the worst uppers of any shoes I have..I haven't tried the strung upper..

    It doesn't disgust you touching that dirty shoe? Yikes! I'm OCD about cleaning my shoes after EVERY run! Gives
    me more confidence starting a run with clean shoes as opposed to dirty ones...

      No… it doesn’t… I probably should clean them but I know the next run they’ll get trashed again

    You're complaining about the shoe touching parts of your foot, then goes out to say you want a shoe that you have to squeeze into and that is tight. It seems you are one of those that will never be satisfied, no matter what. The Adidas range is some of the best shoes out there with fun-foam. You're also complaining about the investment, but got the shoe at almost half the price. 🤷‍♂️

      I have got this shoe in the exact same size as Andy. Personally I found the upper took quite a few runs to "dial in" whereas the upper on say the VF1 just hugs the foot "better" - well in my experience. It is heavier than other super shoes too. So I think that is where he is coming from. Also it is a shoe neither of us really would be our first choice to race in so then when reviewing a shoe I feel you need to talk about RRP but obviously if can get one at a discount so much the better.

    • @TheFODRunner
      @TheFODRunner  Před rokem +2

      There’s a difference between a “slick and snug fit” over the top of the foot and “toes rubbing on the end of the shoe and it other places”. Vaporfly hugs your food tightly but doesn’t rub anywhere… this one does, or did I should say!
      Secondly, I agree with the foam, at the moment lightstrike pro is one of my favourites, as I mentioned…. The takumi is incredible as well and I’m having a blast with them, so no disagreement there 👍
      And regardless of if I got it half price, you want bang for your buck with super shoes right? again good job I said it felt like it was indestructible eh and could go for miles and miles, because that’s what it feels like
