Wonderful actor very natural& also very good narrator.
As a 80s kid, we have all grown up watching movies of Amol Palekar. Every movie of his was a masterpiece. His contriubution to Film Industry is amazing.
His golmaal and choti si baat was masterpiece
I'm a big fan of his movies one of the greatest actors of hindi movies ❤
I never knew him until Farzi... Such a great actor
Absolutely right ✅️,
Just because a Actor doesn't make 100 crore film doesn't mean he or she isn't a great actor/ actress.
Or his film if haven't won a National or international award doesn't mean it. Is bad film
@@UPAKHOSALAthis is what the Khans should learn humbleness and what a gentleman this guy is
Amol Palekar is so polite and soft spoken. Sounds like a true gentleman, and was a natural actor, never did vulgar films or faltu hulladbaazi. He was the quintessential common man and no one played common Indian as naturally as him. His Golmaal is still the best comedy. He speaks with so much thehraav till date. Very simple, polite, no frills, no ego. Good to hear about his discipline and professionalism.
Truly I loved watching Golmaal, and seeing him after like 20 years I didn't recognise him but when he spoke I knew exactly who he was.

@@aayushnair9279 you have not seen enough of him then..
I used to think same after watching just golmaal, choti si baat.
But then I started watching more of him and realised he is really really good..Don't misjudge him on his typical voice tone(or talking style)..Sanjeev Kumar also had similar issue with his talking style, but nevertheless he was among the greatest (overshadowed by leftist+Islamist media who always keeps md Yusuf and naseeruddin ahead of him)..Try watching scenes from movies with understanding of voice modulation, correct expression and then body language.

"Choti si bhaat" What a movie. In our College days we ( with group of friends) seen the movie so many times at MADURAI Minipriya theatre It's ran over 300 days. Those days wow. Chitchor, Golmaal and so on his movies. We called him Hindi Bagyaraj.

It’s Madurai settled down Southern part Tamil Nadu that’s never ceased to surprise me with the Hindi movies running to packed houses for Multiple weeks…

Chennai’s famous Devi complex had a small screen called Devi Bala - and for few years movie after movie being changed were Amol’s movies - it was called Amol palekar theatre. Every movie like chitchor golmaal rajnikandha all ran more than 15 weeks there
In that theater I have seen the movie naseeb in early 80's

I am from Pakistan and I was introduced to the Cinema of Hrishkesh Mukharji by my father. Amol Sahab was the face of his cinema and along with the one and only Utpal Dutt. The sweet and simple cinematic narrative genius of Mukharjee affected me greatly. Today I am a filmmaker myself and I thank these great people for making such a great positive impact. Thank you Sir ❤
Hello, Najaf sahab , I am Shekhar from India, I would love to see your films. Is that possible ?
It's truly nice to see you guys talking about films . I tell these politicians are the ones who want to divide countries with religion caste and creed as their. Weapon. Seriously i wish we could have a lot more interaction with our neighbouring countries.
@Keith Nigli you may read their holy book and then decide for yourself! While at it, read up about Wahabi islam and how it is impacting the world. Don't blame the politicians. They have way shorter lifetime but this particular organized religion has been in conflict all over world for more than 1400 yrs. No politician has lived that long to benefit from it.

SOUTH industry has always been very professional and down to earth. BOLLYWOOD created great actors and legends but I noticed that apart from some exceptions like BIG B, SRK no other stars shows minimum respect for their fans. But SUPERSTARS like YASH, ALLU ARJUN, RAMCHARAN and many other SOUTH INDIAN stars always interact with their fans and they are as simple as a common person.
Everything is fine but allu arjun's behavior with fans is something you should research again, he's definitely not bad but cocky and unsociable.

Well said Mr Palekar. Always admired your films & roles you played. Respect.
Punctuality is the difference between Amitabh and Rajesh Khanna. Both were talented but look how far Amitabh has come. The second thing is conduct. The south people are way ahead. But these days as Amol Palekar says all the youngsters are professionals. The key factor above all is respect for women. No industry will succeed without that.
I know, so boring!! Seems like a freaking corporate industry nowadays.

That malayalam movie was Olangal. An adaptation of Hollywood movie Man Woman & Child which was also made around the same time in Hindi by Shekhar Kapur as Masoom. Amol Palekar played the lead role played by Naseeruddin Shah in Masoom. Olangal was remarkable for a reason, the director Balu Mahendra was a Sri Lankan Cinematographer, the male lead was Maharashtrian, Music was by Ilaiyaraaja then undisputed giant of tamil film music (also a heavyweight in other south indian languages)

Olangal, The Malayalam movie was such a brilliant movie. Outstanding performance of Amolji. It was a huge commercial success. Great acting, great songs.

True gem. Artists like him keep the legacy survive. Such a humble person and, of course, amazing actor.
I have watched only a few of his films, including Golmaal (ofc) and Chhoti Si Baat. But I admire Mr. Palekar a lot. I remember my father told me a story about him meeting Amol Palekar in a flight to Mumbai. So the story goes: My father was an MR (medical rep) for a France-based company back in the day. He used to go to Mumbai at least once a month to attend official meetings. One time, he was seated in his seat in an Air India flight, ig, and when the flight was taking off, something sticky started dripping onto his shirt from the above luggage compartment. He could not move as the seat belt was on. After he was able to take off the seatbelt, he opened the compartment to find a matka (earthened pot) of Rasgulla (a popular bengali sweet dish that are usually dipped in sugar syrup). Hence, the matka got upside down during the take off and the syrup started dripping. My father asked around to know whose package was it but no one answered. So, he distributed all the rasgullas amongst the passengers. After the flight landed in Mumbai, Mr Palekar approached my father to let him know that it was his package that was somehow kept in the economy class luggage compartment while he was in the business class. However, he really liked the fact that my father did not create a fuss and peacefully distributed them amongst the passengers. Eventually, Mr. Palekar offered him a lead role in an advertisement for a detergent powder in Bengal. He even wrote to my father years after their interaction. Unfortunately, the letter is lost now.
Yes. But he threw a surprise, as a stamp of his range, in Bhumika
