- Just one point separated the two sides at the final whistle as South Africa become the first team to win 4 Rugby World Cups, also going back to back after winning the previous tournament in Japan in 2019.
The lads dissect the game, looking at that 7-1 bench, the big refereeing decisions and ask the question does this victory earn this Springboks side the title of Greatest Rugby Team of all time?!

Pieter Steph du Toit was an absolute machine. He just wouldn't give up and totally emptied the tank to single handedly tackle everyone twice... Beast mode defined
Well its easy when your oppposition flanker is red carded isnt it. Sure he deserved man of the match but atleast look at the thing in perspective. No way he would of been that effective with Cane on the field for 80mins.
SA must be the luckiest WC winners in history. They were beaten by Ireland and scraped three wins thanks largely to refereeing inadequacies.
However great teams make their own luck, and SA certainly did that.
Shame that they didn't deal honestly with the racist remarks of a team member, which as cast a cloud over their amazing victorious defence of the title.
@folkmoot36 just curious, do you understand Afrikaans at all?
See the all blacks support missed kicks not a word about it
If south Africa lost F F S
Can you speak Afrikaans...wit kant means white side..but I am sure you know it already. racist card is left on the field in France. Go South Africa. Thank you Bokke! ❤❤❤
The thing about Rassie -- he's a character for sure, but the second the Boks won he stepped back. He hasn't looked for the limelight at all. His big 'in your face moments' seem very tactical to focus attention on him and not the team when they don't need it. The second they deserve it.... Rassie puts himself away. He's an incredible leader and his team know he will fall on his sword for every one of them, which gave them the strength to literally put everything they had on that field. Not the best players, the right players to get it done. Backed by incredible leaders
and thats what makes us better winners better Champs.. no person can done better than what Rassie and Stokke Did with Jacque.. dont forget Stokke Please
My 70 y.o. mother-in-law, watched her first rugby game, the bronze on Friday. Enjoyed it so much, that she insisted she go with to the pub for the final, and was on her feet along with the rest of us Bok supporters as the final whistle blew. That, is the power of this game we love.

Thanks for all the respect shown to SA and the Springboks; and huge respect back to you guys. It's been a joy to listen to during the World Cup. The NH seems a bit hostile against Africans at the moment, which I get, but common sense is needed. And that's why I loved this pod. Well done to the ABs too!

Brutal moment of the game. Thinking about it could have been Dwayne's last run in die green and gold ever. Everyone was playing like it was their last moments and respect to every player. After Scotland, Ireland, France, England and then NZ. Respect.

As a bok supporter and South African, AB's played brilliantly and our biggest rival. Kudo's to both teams, they played their hearts out
Sam Cane going off was a weird blessing for the ABs - it forced a change in their gameplan to one that actually worked!
100% agree - Wayne Barnes had a very balanced, calm, measured, game under the circumstances. I also appreciated how he was reluctant to give scrum penalties -- rather letting open play decide the result.
He had a bad, biased game - these guys are pretending otherwise because they are part of the same organisation as him.
@@powerbite92 Did you see the huge call he missed on 74 mins against the Boks? Kolbe takes a drop-kick attempt, misses, and Mounga fumbles, and then a retreating ABs player catches it in front of Mounga.
I'm not angry at WB for that - I expect those calls to be 50/50 in a game. Point is: both teams got the rub of it.
ABs try - the fumbled 'pass' from Telea shouldve been closely scrutinised cos that did not look like it went flat out of the hands - yet Barnes awarded it so quickly. Clearly he was trying to make up for scratching out the previous try.
reluctant to give scrum penalties alright, the ABs blew the boks away in the 79th minute scrum and called a reset
@@J0sh351 The ball wasn't in yet. Watch any rugby game without the blinkers on, and you'll see scrummies refuse to put the ball in until the scrum is steady.

Relatively neutral fan coming in peace. Grew up in South Africa but love All Blacks rugby. I thoroughly enjoyed the World Cup final and on balance think Wayne Barnes had a good game. However, I do completely understand how some all blacks fan may feel aggrieved. What made the game difficult was that there were so many marginal calls. Even the Cane red card, we've seen given as a yellow on different days through the change of direction into him and low angle of Kriel. If a yellow is given there instead of red then we still have the same debate going on post game just the other way around.
I think where I do feel for the all blacks is that they essentially came out on the wrong end of all the 50/50 calls or calls not being made at all (e.g. Etzebeth, Kwagga Smith). They even lost the 50/50 bounce of the ball after the Barrett chip for Savea. Great game and even with all of the fine margins going against them, the All Blacks still had opportunities to nick it and I think that's what's going to haunt the players and coaching staff most....
If yellow was given, sa would have found a way to win anyway
Best rugbypod ever. So nice seeing neutrals nail every talking point and nuance of a great final between these two old foes. You guys get it ….one for the purists. The story lines within the game were unbelievable and as Union fans this is something the naysayers just don’t get. We would rather watch that game than a 50 point drubbing. The SA defence was just immense. When ABs had the ball the Boks line defence was just up so fast and so hard with the hits that it was a great game. And edge of the seat stuff from ABs to fight to the end and play coast to coast rugby.
It was a terrible game. Both teams played badly and it was only interesting as a competition because it was a final.
If anything the AB's defence was immense, they stopped the boks form getting any try in that game with only 14 men and they scored a try on top of that, in my opinion the AB's played rugby.
Nah the South Africa attack was just awful. Also the only given New Zealand try was from a clear forward pass. The real score was 13-4 and New Zealand were soundly beaten by a terrible Boks side in a forgettable final. @@danielmckelvey8273

It's been really entertaining, watching/listening to you throughout the RWC.
Balanced, fair and insightful comment, all the way through the tournament, it's been so enjoyable and I thank you for that.
As a South African, I must say this was an incredible tournament, with imo, the highest level of competition ever.
To win it was fantastic, but all credit to a magnificent AB team who fought like demons until the final whistle, and it could have gone either way until the end.
Huge respect.
Great podcast guys, best of the rwc. As a Bok supporter the greatest side is the 2015 All Blacks. Carter, McCaw, arguably the two greatest to play the game, Smith, it just goes on. And they came out and blasted you off the field with precision running rugby.
I just made a comment similar to this. I've been trying to find a way to conclude that this team's the best ever and for all the great reasons there are. But that AB team is just the absolute pinnacle of talent. We can be proud that we have a team that is in that debate cause no other team is coming close.

Thank you for this fair review. It's been a rough few weeks as A Boks supporter with hefty allegations thrown at a team we love. Doping, professional fouling, racist slurs, paying refs off ... you name it, we had it. I've been disheartened tbh as if not for the Boks, I'd have been shouting for ABs and France all the way!
Well done gents. By far the best, most well balanced podcast during and after the World Cup. Well done to NZ. However, the Boks played the top 5 teams to win the trophy. Can’t take that away from them. Besides the fact that Rassie mentioned that this was what he was building towards. Great game from both sides. Proud to be a Safa.
when that yellow turned into a red, the look on Cane face.. seriously had me almost in tears! hes worked so so hard, brighter days ahead.
The margins are so small. With the speed of the game it's inevitable that even the best players are going to make a slight error of judgement in a game at some stage in their career with potentially serious consequences. Just sad that for Sam it was in the world cup final.
Have to love Andy Goode. Speaks in pure facts and without bias. Brilliant pundit and this is the first time I’ve seen any credit given to the Boks for a monumental feat. I don’t think many saw us winning, not even us fans at times because tbh we didn’t play our best in the semis or finals.

Can you do a video with all the tackles made by Peter-Steph du Toit? Twenty eight tackles in 80 minutes. It will be a fantastic compilation to view. Also, it would be a great example to show to all players, beginners and professionals, on how it should be done legally and that it can be done. It probably won SA the game!
Awesome. And he didn’t get head to his shoulder like Cane. Amazing.
Compilation of elbow in face charges not seen by referees and TMO please from QF to F.
You cant ..World Rugby will pull it immediately for copyright infringement..
Interesting talking about SA scoring all their points in the first 33 mins, and you both said that Frizell falling on that guys leg was a clear accident. But of that 33 mins the AB's player 10 mins with just 14 men, losing a key player being a lose forward, and in those 10 mins scoring 50% of their points.
For an accident, which the bunker also rolled as an accident.
I agree Sam's red card probably was a red card under the current rules. But under the current rules and bunker evaluation Frizells situation was neither a penalty nor a yellow card. It is worth discuss.g as the two sets of reffing processes, being refs and TMO, then more extensive review from the bunker and they disagreed.
If the decision which the ref told that captains that he was not targeting the players leg, what was the penalty and yellow for??
Thank you for giving us such unbiased commentary 🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🌻
The Springboks went to a dark place to win. I think they found new layers and rooms of dark places. A lot of my USA friends are now Springbok and Rugby fans. Springboks have affected millions all over the world, not just in South Africa.
People forget that the boks were also with 14 men on the field for the majority of the match. Having Mbonambi injured within 2 minutes (our ONLY hooker specialist) then our Captain Kolisi and then Cheslin Kolbe so yeah we were basically also in survival mode defensively
Double tackle from Mo'unga on Kolisi and De Allende was pivotal too. It's not getting enough recognition imho. AB's were sensational, Boks were possesed. Great game. Thank you AB's. 🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦
I agree if that was a try i think the boks could have put 20 on the ab's.. for me the biggest moment of the match
Im now addicted to this podcast..Thanks guys!
The guy on the pitch under the greatest pressure was Wayne Barnes. He did a good job, but there's something wrong with the game when that's the case
Yeah and I think poor Barnsey is copping the flak that should actually be directed at the TMO. If they'd kept their noses out and just let Barnes do his job the game would've flowed much better. When they use technology to scrutinize the game to such minute detail it opens up too many grey areas and stops the game from flowing. It'll create a culture of players intentionally creating situations or putting themselves in danger to benefit, rather than playing a good honest, hard fought game
The Jesse Kriel one vs Scotland was looked at and it was determined that his first contact was with the ball and that the contact was minimal on the head (you can disagree with that but you can't say it wasn't looked at and you definitely can't say it's the same as Sam Cane's one). What adds to the frustration is, we as fans (and pundits) can't decide what we want, because we want what suits our teams. The Jesse Kriel vs Scotland, the TMO looked at it in the background, decided it was nothing and therefore we didn't hear anything more. At the time we were clamoring for the TMO to get involved. But in the final we are bemoaning over-involvement of the TMO. Very difficult for officials to give us what we want when we can't even decide what that is.
I think we want the TMO to only be allowed to get involved when asked. The freedom they have to adjudicate at will on whatever they feel has gone too far
Agree
Thank you Andy G for be one the only people that watched the game and actually heard what Wayne actually said
I genuinely feel bad for Sam Cane. Obviously it wasn’t done with malice to hurt Kriel, and both teams are friends with tons of respect. But Sam is going to be haunted by that for life, and NZ will never forget it, they may say they forgive him but people don’t forget. Great game, great tournament, great sport. Looking forward to professional leagues to get going again
It's because of the Frizell yellow, that should have been red, TMO felt they had no choice but to upgrade Cane's yellow.
Indeed I will never forgive gold watch Bevan for definitely breaking my illusions about Rugby being a sport and not a show controlled by a mafia.
@@023achilles No it was just an obvious red.
@@Camcolito While I agree with you, if Frizell had been given a red, no way TMO would have upgrade Sam to a red as well. And vice versa, Frizell gets a yellow and as a result Cane gets a red. Amazing that no one (AB fans and neutrals) saw All Blacks playing 'on the edge' and beyond! They just feel bad they lost by 1point!

Very very good point about Jessie Kriel needing to go for a HIA after Sam Cane tackle.
@brendanpayne115 - Ironic that Rassie was recently criticised (for calling for HIA's), maybe he just took Jesse Kriel's word for it that time... We Saffers joke that a JK HIA might be tricky 😊
That is the whole point. If it is truly about player safety as the IRB claim it is, every player involved in a head contact should go for an HIA. How many games do we see where players are involved in headcontact and they are not send for an HIA? It happens almost every weekend. De Groot and Savea claimed they where hit in the head and held their noses. Why didn't they go for an HIA, if they believe they were hit in the head?
Just imagine. And Cane’s cynical hit would have taken out a key defensive player as intended.

Boks losing Bongi in 3rd minute was massive. The red card brought parity, not advantage to Boks imho such was the impact on the Bok gameplan, intended use/purpose of 7-1 bench selection, everything. 2nd half especially got to see the impact of not having Bongi. Deon played his heart out yes, but he isn't Bongi and was meant to be serving a different tactical purpose this game.
They robbed us of a fair game with the hit on Bongi. They had the skill to compete without this dirty play. Sad that they didn’t back themselves to win honestly.

Yes Goodie you make a good point on the depth of the Springboks as their biggest strength that makes them possibly the best team ever, and that depth was developed by the Rasnaber team as a foresight into what they expected the RWC 23 to be, an almost impossible path to victory. Incredible planning and balls. By far the best coaching duo in the world now and before, such a shame they're splitting.
Great show guys. you have been the best of the world cup in my opinion.
(Even as a Welshman)Wayne Barnes handled that final v well, and v professionally. We can always criticise a ref for what he missed, but no other ref manages that game better imo
Breath of fresh air watching such objective review. I too could not believe there was enough in the tank for Boks to win final, but they dug very deep, Rassie was like a man possessed around half time, the moves were absolutely strategic, defence incredible. TMO did the job, identifying critical play to deliver fair decisions, Barnes incredible composure.
Fault with red card is that the team is punished (speaking about all rugby overall). Red card should absolutely remove player from entirety of game…however after 10mins a player from bench could be able to come on
But that’s up to WRU
I like, but I'd say 20 minutes, especially if the carded player causes the opposing team to lose a player and substitution for the remainder of the game. Need to adopt a proxy of rugby league for foul play.
@@rodwellchigome7567sounds excellent doing 20….let’s take over WRU and fix things 😂😂
@@KekeHimona unfortunately WR enjoy the jeopardy too much. But yeah, change is the law.
Just adopt the 20min red card then bring a sub on to fill the gap as per super rugby, I have no idea why world rugby is so against that law change? The frustrating thing is none of these cards are dirty or malicious, they’re a split second timing/technique issue, the full red is too harsh a penalty.
@@jameslittle8891 I agree. Red card should be for foul play only not rugby incidents.

Great Analysis
100% correct: There is a massive misconception around Barnes and Savea's penalty. He did NOT say "I saw the replay and realised I made a mistake". Exactly the opposite happened: His exact words were: "I DID NOT see the replay", meaning he was not looking at the screen when the replay was on. Then he said: "I did not see you release enough", meaning that he interpreted the play as a penalty against Savea for not allowing the tackler to place the ball. Point being, it is not that he did not realise a mistake was made and refused to reverse it. He interpreted it his way and did not see the replay so he could not change his mind.
I have been following rugby for 16years now I never saw a ref get 100% right in a rugby match even with the new technology they still can't get it wrong calls lack of understanding the rules
Bingo, you heard correctly.
Like when he said “no knock on, no knock on” and then the allblacks scored. And then the try was disallowed. That knock on was a number of phases gone
@@cheersbro3961 It is different boet, when a try is scored they go back to check if there was anything wrong. The two phases part is a guideline and not part of the actual law. It was a clear knock on, the Ardie incident was a matter of interpretation of the millisecond. Let's not compare apples to oranges mate.
@@mthunziphakathi4215 I think you should check out the law 11, which states categorically that knock ons within 2 phases of a possible try blah de blah.
Not saying I'm 100% correct, but that's what the law book states in that section

The big thing Rassie did in this world cup was that he placed more focus on who would be on the pitch at the final whistle than who would start the match. South Africa won from the bench, not the starting fifteen.
Well that’s obvious. However the starting 15 do all the groundwork, the bench take the glory
@@TheDruzza No, other coaches picked their best fifteen to start and the next best eight to finish. Rassie picked his bench first, he picked the players who were most flexible or the strongest to be on the bench to either close the game out or to rescue a disaster. That is why he could replace Libbock within thirty five minutes with confidence because a more profficient player was on the bench. that is what all the coaches who fielded teams against Rassie got wrong. Instead of being a reserve to be called up if needed the South African bench was a place of honor with a lot of responsibility

Great job, guys. I thought the game was won during a brief period of inaccuracy from NZ - kicks too long, not enough pressure, ruck and tackle mistakes. Down to 14 men, they tightened the skills hugely and SA had to defend for their lives. NZ dominated lineouts when Eben went off, held the SA scrum, found gaps. Just like some of the great football teams in Europe, South Africa's strategy was to let New Zealand have the ball and score on the counter. South Africa was very unlucky not to get two tries off of the counter as both Kolisi and Arendse crossed the goal line, but didn't get tries out of it.
Also, South Africa knew that that they had a huge kicking advantage with Pollard and their strategy, successful, was to exploit that.

Not just the Final, where Wayne Barnes became an errand boy for the TMO, but the WC did a lot of damage to the sport with the mess that is: officiating inconsistencies, TMO interference, and the Bunker mysteries. The massive amount of booing in the stadiums during the games have to be a worrying sign. Rugby will not win new fans if the current debacle continues.
Thanks for a great discussion. Watching the final in Jo’burg was an extraordinary experience. The two most outstanding captains of the 2023 World Cup. Both always credit their teams so sincerely. Don’t know enough about rugby but don’t think Cane should have been handed the red by TMO. Would just love to know Wayne Barnes personal take on the matter.

So much said by so many individuals in tribute to the sporting heroes. Always the same message cutting across divides and differences - “Stronger Together”. The logo used throughout RWC 2023.
Absolutely loved this potcast... Agree 100% with your assessment. Good job
No you are wrong, Sam Cane has form. In the 2023 Super Rugby Championship Sam Cane cost the Wakatio Chiefs the final, he got a yellow card, Crusaders scored a try, game over.
And his hit on Robbie Henshaw in Dublin, 2 weeks after we beat them in Chicago
Great podcast. While we're on how the smallest of margins could have changed the game. Losing Bongi within the first few minutes, was absolutely HUGE for South Africa. He's a powerhouse in the scrum and unfortunately Deon is just not big enough to effect the scrum like Bongi can. I think it would have been a blowout if Bongi was able to play the whole game. The bomb squad was basically diffused by his loss.
No Fourie, no fetcher - and ZA would have been in big trouble with no fetcher up against the AB back row. Losing Bongi bailed out the Boks in the 1st half.
Boks were still all over us in the 1st half anyway
At least he was injured before he had the opportunity to racially abuse someone this week lol
@@powerbite92lost Marc pre finals. Am too. Line outs battled maybe the throw?
@@powerbite92noob question- what is a fetcher?
Great great pod! Jim is awesome. Just love the springbok spirit! And think Nienaber is the best coach in the world. I would definitely never have picked that world 15 players. Argument for Ox, Malherbe, Pieter Steph and Jessie Kriel being in that World 15. This is the Greatest team of all time!
Brillant podcast throughout the WC - thanks.
SA were immense, no mention of Siya Kolisi's yellow card, and can't believe Goody compared Kane's " red " to David Beckhams pertulance.
He was referring to the public reaction/demonisation element of Beckhams experience. They did mention siya's card. he was hinged and they had no problem with what he got.
@@daggaboom Yeah fair comments mate .. don't get hinged stuff .. 2 yellows. Don't recall any mention of SA professional fouls, all the best.
Listen again.
@@kezzert21i will mate, all the best.
As a Bok supporter, it’s always interesting to hear comments from an independent panel. Thank you for your balanced and pragmatic take on things.
I’m curious to hear from you learned gentlemen, what influence (if any) do you believe is the inclusion of SA teams in the URC and other northern hemisphere based competitions having on the quality of the SA game, approach and tactics. A similar question can be asked about the impact that the exit of SA teams from the Super Rugby comp is having on teams like Australia
Love you guys! Great rugby brains as a collective. People forget Rassie was a great player in he’s own right! 💪
By the time the game was won Deon was captain on the field so what away for him to finish. Writen off the to finish like that is just wow. This is why this team is just something else...
Looking at the IRB World XV of the year, you have to give credit to Rassie Erasmus and Co. they had (arguably) no one else except Etzebeth that stood out on top in their positions, and managed to win with pure squad management and strategy.
The IRB team felt like they were trying placate all the losing teams. Like handing out ribbons to the teams who also shoulda coulda woulda won it.
I think if Cane wasn't sent of it would have been an easier win FG or the boks. Allblacks attitude changed for the better the moment he got sent off
Strangely enough, id agree. We might not have dug as deep as we did with 15 players.
For all the accolades about tactics and the run of the game, the difference between the All Blacks winning and losing was the missing of kicks for a conversion and a penalty.
Ball was lost forward in the "try" so no.
I usually watch football, though I know enough about rugby to watch it comfortably. This was the best World Cup for the casual viewer, you need to build onto this.make the game accessible
The arrogance of the All Blacks cost them the game. they refused to kick for 3 points and also refused to kick out of their 22. thats how they also lost to France.
They made wrong choices. and the pressure became evident to some like Mounga they had chances to close the game yet they didn't. and that will haunt them. But this arrogance narrative is uncalled for. they took it to the boks and ill bet not a single SA was comfortable till the whistle
Yes the arrogance call is uncalled for. Wrong strategy? Maybe. They were 6 points behind at that time
Interesting stat, apparently Boks had 72% territory for the last 15min. Kinda tells a story of it’s own.
Great POD, love the balanced commentry.
Interesting... are you sure thats true? because the overall territory and possession stats were well in favour of NZ and I dont recall southafrica being in NZ's territory much of the second half. NZ played that way on purpose declining penalties (shots a goal) because they knew with 14men the boks would be extremely dangerous off restarts after penalties and were using time with the ball to pin the boks in their half. That alone imo was a master stroke and "almost" won the AB's the game. I felt it really put the boks out of their comfort zone. In hindsight maybe they should of kicked one more of those penalties for goal but thats hindsight they may not of scored the try they did without going for a lineout.....
@@austingtir Just heard it on one of the other POD's I watch, honestly can't remember which one. Remember they only talking about the last 15 minutes. If true, it is an interesting stat.
@@austingtir Oh and I did say 'apparently' because I haven't seen or heard that stat anywhere else.
I thought ABs defended really well with just 14 men.
Rugby’s best teams putting everything out in that final. I agree with Jim this match made me feel proud of rugby as a sport. ❤
SA had great game management in the last bit. Boks played that last bit in the right half.
I love the respect you talk about SA's team is really amazing
Guys- What an honest, professional cast. The whole tournament has been covered so well by you guys.
It's great to hear objective opinions and professional takes from you blokes. Thanks guys ❤
It’s not a great red card for Sam cane, but in the eyes of the law, it’s a red card every day. At the end of the day, the laws are through the refs interpretation and it’s how he saw the game. He reffed the game excellently, as did o’keefe in the semi final. You play to the ref
The ref did well and tmo upgraded it to red, rightly so
@@andresdeks The bunker is neither the ref or the TMO.
I’ve nothing against SA, NZ or Wayne Barnes. But that final epitomises everything wrong with rugby.
Go watch League mate
Loved this podcast. Hopefully it will continue to grow until the next world cup. Looking forward to 2027
thank you, i have enjoyed your podcasts- will miss them, we need a few tours, i wish the boke joined the 6 nations would be good for rugby and having brilliant contests
That match was sooo tense.
I checked out the Ardie penalty, and it is quite clear. Law 14: 5. Tacklers must: d. Allow the tackled player to release or play the ball.
I think this was the issue, because there was no option there. How does Barnes see all of that within a few milliseconds? He blew well, the TMO however was too invovled and too busy looking for issues instead of letting the game flow
Any sport where you need to drag out the book of legislation to find law 14.5 is a sport that has something extremely fucking wrong with it. Sport shouldn't be this complicated.
Can someone please tell me how many time did PSdT tackle Jordie in the final?
I counted 5, could be more. There were 3 dominant hits he had on him.
Is this the rugby podcast version of Top Gear (Clarkson, May, Hammond)? ....Saffa here, just wanted to say thank you and congrats on the quality content.
Enjoyed this Pod very much. Thanx
On the head contacts, I don't understand why Kiwi pundits are struggling so much with this:
1) Sam Cains' was picture perfect red card. It'll probably be used by WR as an example of what not to do. Shoulder to facte no drop in height.... illegal.
2) Kolisi's I'd argue wasn't even a yellow. He was bent at the waist. His primary point of contact was shoulder to body. His head then hits the ball and bounces up. It's not DIRECT head contact. It's not dangerous. It's at most a penalty, and probably just a "rugby incident".
3) Kriels' lack of a card. There are angles that show the heads move past each-other. The Sco player bounces off the ball which is being carried under his chin. There;s enough doubt there to wonder if head contact even happened. We don't card player if they might have done something wrong, we card them when it's clear and obvious. Sam Cain's card was clear and Obvious.
100% - I saw the up-close slowed down version of Kriel's and was surprised to see the lack of head contact, but once you saw it it was clear. Only thing I'd disagree with is that Siya's tackle was a fair yellow - considering Curry got a red for going in with good shoulder height but making head contact.
@@user-lw2ng1jb1m I'd say Curries should be mitigated to a yellow as dropping. But Curries was direct head-to head, where Siya's head made contact AFTER the ball, which was After his shoulder. So the level of danger isn't comparable. I'd say Curries was more comparable to Damien Willemse's in the Warm up match against Wales. Direct head to head, legal tackle, dropping. So red, down to yellow.
@@Bobbydyland 100% - I think Curry getting red was the absolute worst card call of the whole tournament. It's just, if that IS the standard, then I think Siya getting yellow is fair.
But I agree, going forward, with how you see it.
Congratz Andy Goode, only person who got the prediction right, Boks by 1😂😂😂
There was a SA fan who predicted 13-12. He was just off.
Great commentary, refreshing to hear a honest objective discussion, unlike all the trash talk dished out by other social media pods.
Great show! Thank you.
Can you please discuss the forward pass for the try while discussing ref issues? Makes sense to discuss reffing decisions that went against both sides doesn’t it?
Kiwi asked the questions mate. Make sense that they'd only answer the questions asked. Kolisi's yellow was a rugby collision if ever there was one. Force of the collision that caused Savea's head to snap, initiating the contact. Look at it again if you get a chance.
