    Thank you!
The idea that soy can lower your testosterone has been a popular belief recently. It's gotten to the point where people even insult others for being less "manly" if they eat soy since soy can increase feminine features (via estrogen) and lower masculine features (via lower test). But is there any truth to this testosterone-lowering claim? Let's find out.

Picture fit you're confusing Phytoestrogen with mamalian estrogen. Plant estrogen is much better as it binds to the beta receptors and stop cell proliferation. While mamalian estrogen found in animal products has been linked to cause gyno and cause hormone imbalance in the body.

I'm from Indonesia, we have a lot of soy and I eat soy pretty frequently. The city where I live doesn't have lot of options when it comes to decent protein sources other than chicken, eggs, beef, and soy products (tempeh, tofu, soy milk etc). mostly my diet revolve around chicken, eggs, and tempeh. And I've put very decent amount of muscles.
And just like picturefit says it's OK to eat soy as long as you eat it in moderation. And this video just brush some of my concerns when I eat soy, thanks 😊.

Do consider the fact that each body will react differently. So the same moderation level for you will not be the same for other people.
Then we have the tiny little detail that your people are used to soy so you may have developed a genetic tolerance for it because of that.
I'm curious: If soy increased the risk for cancer would you still consume it in moderation? Serious question. People will always accept some danger while totally avoid others.

Unnoticeable effect does not equal no effect. If you eat soy consistently as well as use products with estrogen mimics and endocrine disruptors, which most people do now, then you have a big problem.
You can't ignore everything just because the individual thing doesn't contribute much.
People who stay away from soy probably also stay away from other endocrine disruptors, and people who eat soy probably aren't wary of endocrine disruptors.
That's why you see such a big difference. And it's funny how the people debunking "soyboys" look/sound like soyboys.

Very well researched video as always. However, I do have one small issue. The rat example may not be the most accurate representation of how soy is metabolized in humans. We still aren’t sure how accurate testing on rats is. Especially when it comes food. Simply upscaling the rats weight to a human is not a reliable way to measure how many glasses of soy milk you’d have to drink. I do believe a little soy here and there can’t hurt, but that comparison doesn’t seem too reliable.

Culture and diet. And by diet, I don't mean the soy. I actually mean the rice. A lot of asian cultures have extremely rice-heavy diets, which means a very large portion of their nutrients end up being almost all carbs, and they get less protein. You can see a kind of similar issue here in America, where our diet has also gotten more carb-heavy. But instead of making people skinny and without a lot of tone, with the sheer volume of it that gets eaten here it instead ends up making people flabby and shapeless.
As for culture, they just tend to prefer male beauty to male ruggedness in certain east asian aesthetics. Although there are still certainly places for tough, rugged men like the late great Toshiro Mifune.

Adults aren’t as active since they sit around all day at their jobs and spend more time studying as college students, while fast food makes us fatter and thus increases estrogen in men. 1. You going to address my point about seafood or no?
      2. The problem with those cancer/mortality studies is that they looked at the average American meat eater, who’s probably a fat slob who doesn’t exercise or eat the right amount of calories, and compared him to the average vegan, who’s more likely to be looking out for his health. There’s a small effect, sure, but unless cancer runs in your family or something it’s pretty negligible. Also yeah, if you eat just refined sugar that’s pretty bad, but it’s bad because a diet of just refined sugar is calorie dense and has almost no vitamins. Refined sugar in a balanced diet won’t kill you.
So yeah, switching over from one kind of diet to another isn’t some kind of magic pill. You’re not going to become a giga-Chad because you switched from keto to paleo, or from pescatarianism to veganism or whatever else.

I was worried that soy sauce was gonna mess with me. I barely use any to begin with because of the sodium but this is reassuring

This was great and came at a perfect time. Another strange claim I've been seeing is that soy can cause cancer. This sounds bogus to me, just on the face of it. Maybe a companion video to this one is in order?

I'm a proud omnivore 🍳🍎🍗🍌🧀🥕, but I'll admit I've largely avoided soy due to the "Soy Kills💀 Testosterone" claim (which I found in an essay as recently as this morning).
As a 💯% scientific fella, it's interesting to see the studies putting the claim to rest. As you say at 3:06 : "Moderation is 🔑". Add variety to your diet if you want the best results.🏃🏿‍♂️🚴🏿‍♀️🏋🏿‍♂️🤾🏿‍♀️

If you've foun a lot of research that suggest soy does, indeed, kill testosterone, a single study shouldn't really debunk all of that. Way I see it, it may/may not, so no point risking it, really.

Jdr Yup. Just did a cursory googlin', and it seems you're totally right. I mean, doesn't effect me, given I don't like soy... But still, when you're right, you're right.
