You should pull all the glass from that scrap Travelall just in case you need it in the future.
It would honestly be smarter to just leave it on the car in case you need it and pull it when you need it. It's quite hard to store glass

Hey, Puddin. I used to work for Datsun / Nissan those L motors are bulletproof, the blocks on the L4s and L6s are 8% nickel, that means they are pretty much stainless steel. They hardly ever have anything worse than a bit of a ridge in the cylinders. they just always run. Keep it rollin my friend. 😁
The engine from the 280 xv in a pickup would make an awesome hotrod/drifter?
8% nickel? I suppose you have documentation to back up this claim?
@@upscaleshack, It's good to question such things. No doc. per se. It's just what the instructor mentioned a few times in the certification classes when I was going through classe to become a Nissan tech.
@@KiloBravo69Wish Datsun/Nissan would bring back and manufacture the 521 series trucks once more. Now those series trucks were beautiful looking little girls, this time, put a 4 wheel drive package underneath them.
@@dwansbo, I like it, but you would have to do some serious mods to the engine bay and firewall and I'm pretty sure you woud have to remount the the larger L28 radiator in front of the core supprt. Cool mod, but lots of work. I would go for a hopped up triple S L20B instead, or a very popular repower option is the later KA24 engine.
You need to get a snatch block to double your winches pulling power. Plus the winch will pull stronger when there's less rope on the drum. Just an FYI, but how about you build a pair of smooth ramps, to make it easier to winch 'stuff' on and off the trailer. Great video as always.

So Coleman makes Lil solar panels, usually measures like 2 feet by 4 inches. I used to pick em up from menards for bout 15 bucks. I use them for my motorcycles, mud trucks, even my daughters power wheels... you ever think about grabbing one and mounting it to your tool box to charge your winch battery?

When I was 14 my mom had an early 70s model Travelall. I thought it was ugly as hell. Now I would love to have one to fix up since I started watching your channel. You're helping keep them alive.
Most people shy away from people like Matt because they are afraid, But you and Slick treated him as if he was one of the boys, My hat is off to you gentlemen, You have a heart of gold.
I'm not sure who the most people you know are, but most people I know wouldn't be afraid of a deaf person. That's just a weird thing to say.

Puddin, I have a suggestion for keeping your winch battery charged. If you have a seven pin trailer wire use the white wire from the tow pig to charge up the winch battery. It wont help much on short halls , but if you let the tow vehicle idle it will keep power flowing to the winch.
The memories years from now Puddin will show a day in the junk yard looking for that one item or just fooling around seeing what you might drag home but good friends last forever say hi to both Slick and Matt be careful and stay safe my friends God love ya all

The Yellow Datsun minitruck is sweet!!!!!
It is highly collectible, will get great gas mileage, and it's a very practical truck. I would leave it real and nasty as it is with exception of brand new rims and tires. A full Power wash and full interior restoration will take it to the next level. This would make a great daily driver.

Say pudding. I ain't trying to tell you what to do or anything. I'm just making a friendly suggestion, y'all look any getting one of them still plated flatbeds that tilt. Those things are the bee's knees. Let me tell you I love mine so much. I wouldn't trade it for nothing. They tilt and you could. You could slide it. It don't ever got tires or not. You can slide anything you want on it cuz it's still and he ain't got to worry about it. Digging in tearing your wood up and all that stuff. Anyway, something to think about. You definitely need a snatch block...double line that winch when you have to drag non-rollers on the trailer. Doubles the pulling power and it's easier on the winch motor too.

How does dude manifest all the same colored vehicles. Cool. On another note… we had a Datsun when I was a little guy. That sucker went about 500,000 miles; around three hundred thousand when dad owned it, and another two when he gave it to his best friend, so the story goes. Love those trucks.
