Its cars like this that make me think, market be damned Suzuki Philipines should just bring in the Swift Sport to move even a few units from the AMG and GR Yaris Crowd.

I really prefer this over the GR86. It may look more like the enthusiasts' choice with its more aggressive styling and ala Initial D vibes but if I have all the money, I'd get this over the GR86 in a heartbeat.

will it have the same price point as GR86? or will GR86 keep the same price as its predecessor GT86?

A bit odd they didn't use a small space saver spare tire for such a small trunk.

Interesting review. Also notable is that the demo car is kitted out in the higher "Limited" trim one would see in the US or other countries, based on the Alcantara on the seats and the 18" wheels it has. Does Subaru/MotorImage PH offer the BRZ in a lower trim? Such a car would be analogous to the "Premium" variant overseas, with the smaller 17" rolling stock and cloth seats.

even the premium variant in other countries don't cost this much.

The isn’t one single carryover body panel, or piece of glasswork, or lighting, from the old car. It’s a fair bit more than a facelift. It’s a total reskin. Nothing is interchangeable with the old model. On the interior, the steering wheel is probably carryover but nothing else is. The chassis is carryover, but suspension retuned, and on the BRZ, substantially changed in places. It’s not far off being an new car.

overpriced, even considering the TRAIN law. Subaru PH, specifically Tan Chong the distributor, needs to put down their bong, this car ain't worth nearly what the WRX STI was priced back then.
Mazda PH was able to price their base model to 2 mil flat, and Honda PH was able to price the Civic to the 1.6-1.8mil price range. Both are price competitors the the GR86/BRZ in other countries.
    also: automatic? really?
