I could not for the life of me figure out what and where this tiny little black threaded screw goes. I have a different gear box than you but I looked at this video to see if you had one like mine and to see where you placed it haha....MY GOODNESS I CAN'T BELIEVE I FOUND IT! thank you for unintentionally showing me what this little black screw was.
You’re welcome 😂
Gunna give this a try thank you

I bought a TSF2021 as a backup for $500 a few years back. Sitting in my garage.
That’s a deal, wish I could buy one for 500 now and hold on to it for a back up. Which pump are you running on the 8?
@@KentuckyWashPros TSF2021 is the 8
Jeremy, what a great video! Hey man, I had a question. when you purchased the gear box from envirospec did it come with all the gaskets and plugs, or where those ordered separately? I ordered the comet gearbox with the comet TW8036S. I plan on throwing it on my 20HP engine, any concerns there, and what do you think the performance would be?
I'm building my new trailer right now. I'm adding a 5.5 hot water skid I snagged in Nicholasville KY. The only downside to higher gpm is I feel like you can't pull as strong of a mix with the downstream injector. I had a gas softwash system and still like downstream for house washing. Good video I like seeing your build.
Thanks and I appreciate you watching, where are you located at?
@@KentuckyWashPros im in Chattanooga TN so not a close drive it was about 4 1/2 hours to pick it up, but we'll worth it. I'm looking forward to see your build!
Just turn the throttle down or get a bigger injector.
The end of this video is like Groundhog Day
?
Question if I wanted to build a do it all pressure washer. Maybe I want to wash concrete with surface cleaner I would need 3gpm minimum, but if I need it to wash cars I could lower gpm to 1.5-2 gpm. What would be best gear or belt drive?
In my opinion 4gpm minimum. I would prefer gear drive, they are usually a smaller footprint and I believe less maintenance with adjusting belts and replacing belts.
How is this setup holding up? I was thinking of just following along with u video to build a 10gpm. Would u do anything differently?
I’d buy a Honda or a CRX engine
Looks good brother. But your wife called and said she would like the garage back 😂
😂 she knows that’s my place, she did make me straighten it up a few days ago tho
10gpm!! Wow. Coming off the porch to run with that one brother!
Is there a preference for the gear drive over a belt driven skid setup Jeremy? Just curious . I am wanting to gear drive a 5.5 to replace a 4gpm on a Honda GX390 but would love to step into a 8gal unit after I get going.
Honestly to me a gearbox is just easier to work with for me. I don’t have any experience with belt drives. If I was in your situation and your wanting to go from a 4 to 5.5 I would honestly buy the 6.8 Alison pump that comes with the gearbox installed. That would be the best bang for your buck.
@@KentuckyWashPros The 6.8 would be a hard pull in the little 390 wouldn’t it? I’ve not researched that but does give me an option to look into. Thanks for the videos and reply back! Keep up the good work Jeremy.
@@prc37388 you cant get much out of that honda 390, 4gpm at 3500psi is what you can get and that is pushing it, the spec dont support anything higher than that.
Are gear boxes pretty universal? Do you pretty much just have to match up your gear shaft size?? Im wanting to get a Comet RW 5530 pump and am looking to get a gear box to put on a a predator 13hp engine. Any insight? Thanks!
They are not universal, different engine sizes has different shaft diameters
You’ll have to get the right size gearbox for the engine shaft. I’d recommend calling Russ Johnson at South Side Equipment in Brooks, KY. He’s very helpful and get you the right equipment.
@@KentuckyWashPros gotcha, I’ll look into that. Thanks for the reply!
Awesome
Any updates on the truck and skid build?
not too many, if the weather allows I plan on sandblasting the skid on thursday
Dose putting a gearbox on reduce the psi of the pump. If so how much?
It doesn’t
Are you sure the smaller oring goes on that grove? Feels like the plate doesn't bolt up flush
having the same issue, started leaking almost immediately after i turned it on.
@@AlejandroRodriguez-nc8ud can confirm it goes in the step
How often do you recommend changing the gearbox oil?
as often as the manual says, Im not really sure on the exact hours
How do you know your gears are meshed correctly?
If they are not correctly lined up it won’t go together
@@KentuckyWashPros does the pump side gear have to be all the way up against the pump?
Your garage is heated?
Yes sir, it is now 😂
can you put this on the GX390?
No it’s too small
How much oil goes in the gearbox?
Not sure on the oz. But I just go by the sight glass.
What oil goes in that gearbox?
I use 80-90w. If you can find 90w that would be the best option.
What's the advantage of a gearbox vs direct drive
gearbox runs at a lower rpm than DD and your pump can pull water on a gear drive
If I have a direct drive pressure washer now, can I just order the gear box and change it to gear driven or do I need a new pump that made specifically for gear drive? Basically my question is can I turn a direct drive pump to a gear drive pump?
I'm not sure if I got the same gearbox or not. I got the ZGRS1000 Gear Reducer from general pump and I have a 5.5 ts2021 connected to it. I don't know why but either the gearbox or the pump is making a whining noise. No idea what it is or why or if its normal. Pump is working fine. No leaks detected. Everything bolted up just fine. Here is a link to my channel with the newly uploaded video of the noise....czcams.com/users/shortswJYuynnm1XY
what kind of oil are you using?
@@KentuckyWashPros Gearbox calls for SAE 80W-90 which is what I put in. it was also the first start up and ran maybe 5 min before I shut it off.
