you actually hit a very interesting thing, bands (most of the time) either write lyrics and then the melody or the other way around
Important note: often he will cut words off short to fit it in, like in the way he says "complete".
In his "true meaning of the season" song when he says "I only need a hundred thousand to get it debated parliment" he cuts of the word thousand and just says "it only takes a hundred thou- to get it debated in parliment"

My age is showing. I remember this thing called a busy tone. If you called someone while they were otherwise using the phone. (Online, on a call, or a prior dial-in was ringing or recording a message) you didn't connect, and instead, your phone would make a noise called a busy tone(It sounded like a crackhead pretending to be an Alarm clock.), while theirs went about its business.
