      All viewers beware, the performance is a test from God. If you are
      impure, you will suffer and that will reveal your own lacks of heart and
      mind.
      If you are pure, you will see the light and pure awesomeness of
      the ultimate kind - the holy punkpower of keeping it real.

    Big respect for these guys and Finland, for giving them a chance. I really respect countries where disabled people are not hidden from the "normal" masses' eyes and are given opportunities to fullfill their aspirations.
    And the song is not bad at all! It's a normal punk song, it's meant to be short, provocative, sort of "trashy" (or "raw", if you prefer), and the vocals are nice (for this genre, this is what you need).

    I think the message behind Finland sending a disabled band is pretty simple. A disability does NOT define a person. Heck, I have no conditions or disabilities and I can't play a guitar to safe my life. I am glad that society is taking a step into accepting each others differences. IMO, best entry of all.

    • @voloshanca
      @voloshanca Před 2 lety +17

      Not really, there are two messages in this song: one is about a first-person experience of living with executive dysfunction, and the other is about institutional ableism, in particular that dilemma that if you happen to need a lot of support and accommodations in your everyday life, the society will use that need of yours against you in order to get away with *taking away your freedom.*

      isadora My guess is that it was a combination of reasons. Maybe the one that you said, maybe because the band is the epitome of what punk stands for (their own raw music and own lyrics in their songs seem to reflect reality in so many ways, also with honesty and self-irony) , maybe because some finns are "mad scientists" and just wanted to throw it in and see what happens, maybe some taking a piss at the ESC as a reminder that we´re all humans here and we should lose our fakery because that´ll help us connect (with ourselves too). I think their punk may sound angry but because it´s about being truthful (own, personal frustrations, but with a twist of humor), it´s about truthful connection between people - love between strangers.
      I don´t think one has to even like punk to appreciate it, but it´s worth is really harder to see for people who are very stuck in their own thing and own mindset. Anyway, Isadora I agree with you, it is fantastic!
      I also agree with +grazina statkevichiute: Finns are extraordinary. Just like PKN. And the world is a better place with extraordinary, diverse peoples with good hearts. Definately the most important entry in the ESC2015.

    I applaud Finland for choosing a band of disabled guys to represent them on the ESC! It's not so much about them making it to the finals (or not for that matter), the important factor is, that they were there, showing all those self righteous people out there, who prefer to ignore minority groups such as disabled people, that they do actually exist and are capable of a lot more than what we think! Finland has shown the world that disabled people are actually a visible and worthwhile part of their society! I didn't particularly like the song myself to be honest, but that's besides the point! They were there, visible and loud, and that's what matters! Finland could have opted for the usual beautiful young singer instead, like everybody else did, but they chose not to! Thank You Finland!

    Yes, they're disabled, Yes, they're playing punk. We sent them there for a reason. Disabled peeps are not equal with non-disabled peeps, and that is not right, is it? The song is literaly them screaming to you about the problems they face each and every day... The thing is, Punk is never supposed to be musicaly "good", it is supposed to send a message, like a punch. This just proves that the eurovision song contest that says "We are a place for everyone" is bullshit. Well, not excatly... They let them perform which was good, but people just didn't understand that IT IS GOOD PUNK, NOT GOOD POP for example. It is not supposed to be all good notes and stuff like that, IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE A MESSAGE, and that it was for sure! Anyways... I hope that disabled people will soon get the same rights as any other human being!
