- We are already counting down to the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest in Baku. We do that by looking back to recent editions of Europe's favorite TV show. This time we go to 2006, when the contest was held in Athens, Greece.
Lordi represented Finland in the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest with the song 'Hard Rock Hallelujah'. They won the grand final in Athens and brought the contest to Helsinki in 2007.
I present to you: The happiest country in the world
Eurovision contest
I love how Finland always enters a calm folk song
Whos here in 2024?
nobody:
Why are people saying that their costumes are creepy? They aren't even wearing any, this is how Finnish people really look
Whenever I get frustrated about an Eurovision result, I go back here, just to know that Lordi won with this masterpiece in 2006💪🤘
As a native finnish resident I can confirm that this is how we look like without make up.
Eurovision peaked with this traditional Finnish lullaby
This is a traditional Finnish childrens' song. All the Finnish parents sing this to their kids in the evening
I still can't believe this happened, absolutely one of the most epic moments in music history
I was a 12-year-old boy back then who had no idea about metal or hard rock. This is the reason why I’m a metalhead right now. Thank you Mr. Lordi. Lots of love ❤️🤘
The only Eurovision winner anybody remembers.
When it comes to Metal/hard rock, the Finns never joke or disappoint
Hands down the best performance in Eurovision history
Best eurovision winner, change my mind
ITALY : MANESKIN
Every European country: We should really try to do something different with our act this year
The day Eurovision changed forever. I'd never seen ANYTHING like this, fucking amazing.
Who is here after Käärijä 2nd place finish? How I wish Finland can host the ESC again 😢
