I haven't seen a celebration like this before, after winning the Eurovision, it seems like a revolution. 2006 was the best Eurovision and as a Greek i feel proud that a metal group won in Athens.
It was so cool seeing our two flags, white and blue, with a cross, at the forefront in Athens. It meant a lot to Finns, you know, as quite a small country. It was such a unifying feeling. Your blue sky and white houses (I am guessing), and our blue lakes and snow symbolised in those two flags. And that people elsewhere could appreciate our Finnish weirdness :D I hope things in Greece are going towards better in general, despite this generic mayhem now...

If you ever think "how the hell we defended against the red army" thinking how outnumbered and having 0 tanks ect in winter war.. well its just that same unity, these things are happines version of it, think the same thing but just as will to slaughter and kill enemies and defend your home country not caring about your life anymore at that point, just uniting in the struggle against them and that is what makes anything possible in those kind of occasions. The Karelian isthmus alone, million people went dead or missing, and its one of the biggest slaughters in the history of war in terms of body count, not the biggest but really big one. The deep trauma it has caused to whole civilization and all the men of the country has left its mark on our DNA much stronger for centuries and centuries to come. Even if you think like yeah not gonna happen, its because its different normally, but we actually can have the spirit if something is to spark it, these things show it as you said.

I am from the USA and i will say this - from what i have experienced you will almost NEVER see anything like this in the USA. To bad, Lodri is a awsome band and they deserve this - winning Eruovision 2006. I can only see great things in their future. Finland got a awsome band here, congrats Findland and Lordi - ^5

I remember that year no one waited for a win or a good result because of being completely different from usual Eurovision songs but everyone caught attention that Lordi started to get massive points and it turned to an absolute Lordi-mayhem
