- When was the last time you watched Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)? The first chapter in Marvel’s Cosmic stories was praised by fans and critics, but what did you think? There are so many hidden references to future MCU movies, Phase 2 and 3! We’re introduced to Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax the Destroyer, Rocket Raccoon and Groot for the very first time on the big screen. Our heroes team up on the Milano to fight Ronan the Accuser, Nebula, Korath, and more to save the galaxy (specifically Xandar) from the power of an Infinity Stone.
From being captured by the Nova Corps, escaping the Kyln, meeting the Collector on Knowhere, to saving Xandar with Yondu and the Ravagers, this movie is chalk full of references to the cosmic side of Marvel comics to villains from other MCU films. Will the Guardians be able to stop Ronan from using the Power of the Infinity Stone? Yes, they can. Cause we’ve all probably seen this movie. But there are still plenty of awesome easter eggs that will blow your mind on the rewatch. See if I missed any and let me know which one’s were your favorite. Let me know down below or on twitter @OnlyStpdAnswers!

Speaking of Stormbreaker...
*Looks at Infinity War*
Yeah, Groot had a fundamental part in the making of that weapon
Give the editor a raise
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Sam:"They freeze stuff"
Black Panther:"I neva freeze"
His face when he said 1969 was lol 😂
X3 GuZie i was thinking... whyyy!? 😂😂😂 I dont get itttt
Darius Roberson 69 69 69
X3 GuZie 3:04
Darius Roberson 69 is a sex position, that’s why
GONEMBA REBORN oh there was two I only realized one
The 3 Suns of Xandar are less a "Hidden Mickey", and more the Nova Corp logo... surely, right?
that's what I thought too
I have to agree, it is more like their chest logo
They should just say the lady getting Cap's autograph is Quill's grandma
Smart move you should work there lol.
Love this segment ! Building the hype for IW and for your channel guys 😁😍 Love from Portugal
Sam Bashor's videos are my favourite! Love it! Always leaves me with a smile!
And the Guardians of the Galaxy originally came out in 1969.
(Zooms with a smirk on his face)
🤣
My favorite part of this whole video!

The research behind this video is simply amazing.
I'm digging the rewatch series. Well done, Sam.
Fantastic Job! Love your video's!
Great job on the video!
Oh my god! I just re watched this movie
EDIT: and i also stopped at the "korbanite" skeleton sometigni don't usually do.
Star Lord I just rewatched this movie too
I am Groot
Groot oh my that’s shocking
Star Lord such a good name
Geeks*
Been waiting for this one!
Been waiting for this one 👌👌
Look forward to these videos
0:35 that smile tho
I feel that the orb is more of a checkov's gun than a McGuffin. It is an object that builds up to a climax in the third act, whereas a McGuffin is an object that seems important but ends up not being important, and the power stone is very important.
Personally I feel like the 3 suns on Xandar are more a reference/explanation for the Nova Logo since it has those 3 star/sun-like dots on it
Awesome video!
Love these!! Keep it up 👍👍
Damn I literally get done watching the movie and this is posted right when it ended. Best Marvel movie hands down. The vibe and color throughout are amazing
Whoever edits these is a genius
love your channel
love these..thx
Great vid by the way
WHO DISLIKED!!!! I LOVE THIS SERIES AS MUCH I LOVE MARVEL (and that's a lot)
Star Wars Basic I am Groot
Me
Noobmaster 69
Loveee this series and Sam's presenting style
The editing on this video was amazing lmaoo
2:57
Is that Kree holding the deathly hallows?- Harry Potter and marvel will have a crossover confirmed😂
Cut! That's a rap guys.Great job sam, awesome. That's all we need today, we're done here, go get some rest. Thanks.
good work
first
I just checked your channel and there was nothing and then a minute later there is this video
Stan Lee's cameo is in fact the one you pointed out but it's also an Easter egg because on the information bar that pops up when rocket scans Stan Lee it says his race is Skrull which is a nod to the shapeshifting creatures from the comics
LOVE THESE REWATCH EASTER EGGS
I live for this series
This came out on my birthday :D
Like your videos
2:56 is it just me or does the Kree to the right look like he's holding the deathly hallows symbol? Not quite the same, but looks almost identical.
TheHaloHedgehog I was about to say that
TheHaloHedgehog as in from harry potter ??
ceri jones yes.
TheHaloHedgehog that symbol is in everything , illuminati
No its a skyrim shadow mark haha
solid editing, i like the meme appeal
Isn’t black dwarf called cull obsidian in the MCU?
Yeah but we’re sticking to the actual name idgaf
We’re talking about the mcu tho
It is, hypothetically, incorrect to call him Black Dwarf since Black Dwarf is from Earth-616 and the MCU is from Earth-199999.
At one point he was called Dark Thor or something that's why they changed it
Yeah
i had no idea, but im literally watching this exactly one year later, down to the minute
I notice behind drax, while he was sitting watching groot dance, a glimpse of the Infinity Gauntlet.
good job
this was Dank
Nice "troll" pun!👍
When ur were talking about the troll in the Milano there was a mullet card to the right of the box for the mixtape thing
EXCELSIOR!
There is a reference to beta ray bill in Thor ragnarok as he is one of the founders champions and in an animated version of planet hulk he fights beta ray bill in the arena
I don't get about the funny close up faces but it sure is fun to see lol somebody should compile them as a meme
Holy s*** the slugs in Slither was indeed there!? Cool nod that!
13:28 **smooch**
Wow 2014 felt like last year
The fun of marvel is stan lee pops up in every movie which is funny as anything I know he's the boss of marvel and the founder but it's just amazing
In the lineup, there’s some info about peter that says he has a translator chip in his neck, and that’s why he’s able to understand every other alien race. I thought it was pretty cool and worth a mention
I like the Baby Groot Dancing Easter Egg. Lol
That was Peter's mom in captain America. Wow mind blown!!!!!.
The troll doll is a nod to Ricky from Trailer Park Boys, just look at that hair and the shirt! He just needs some dope!
the 0:36 moment omfg 😂😂😂😂
4:12 that pit stain tho
Just realized this video was dropped on my birthday
i played the guardians of the galaxy telltale game years after watching gotg, and when i rewatched it recently i noticed lylla was listed as an associate of rocket and was pretty proud of myself😂
Storm breaker?!?!!? As in the one Thor gets in infinity war???
U guys didn't know that
Lol yes
My favourite MCU movie of all time.
3:08 Yondu isn't kree, he's a Centaurian. He was just a kree battle slave, he sold to the kree to fight in their arenas. That's what Yondu meant in volume 2
0:34 & 3:03 Nice.
MaximillianAwesome007 nice
I am looking forward the the interactions between the Black Order and Gamora / Nebula
I was watching one of their vids😂
Sam ur the best
Nice - James Gunn
Pretty sure Yondu isn’t Kree, multiple sites say he is Centaurian. My guess as to why he said he is Kree is because Nebula said he was “wanted in multiple Kree provinces”, he is just wanted not from there.
13:37 - How an intergalactic lawsuit starts
I just noticed in the minute 1:07 that Morag and the planet that we see in the first avengers infinity war trailer are very similar to me with the lightnings or whatever it was.
It was Adam Warlock's cocoon. James Gunn said he regretted putting it in the movie.
James Gunn answered the 12% thing on Twitter. The number 12 is used in screenwriting a lot because it’s the largest single syllable number.
The smile after 1969 was hilariously!
I really like this series
10:50 there's one more .
They are missing Supergiant
When the Guardians are preparing for the finale battle the song cherry bomb by the runaways I believe it is. Cherry bomb is the name of Lea Thompsons characters band.
I was literally just re-watching this movie
Morag is also the name of the radio station on Pandora that plays Guardians of the Galaxy songs
Speaking Of Scooby Doo Effects...
James Gunn Screenplayed In Scooby Doo (2002) And Scooby Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed (2004)
Remember how James Gunn said he hid a easter egg n said if anybody finds it he'll give them a cash prize... did anybody wind up finding that easter egg??? He said he hid another one in GOTG Vol 2 n said it was more difficult then the one he hid in the first movie so if nobody found the one in the first movie I doubt anybody found the one from the second movie
Lmk if u have any guesses to what either one could be though
He didn't say he would give a cash prize to whoever find the Easter egg. Someone said that they didn't believe there was a super hidden easter egg in Vol. 1 and Gunn said if there wasnt, then he'd give him 100 Gs.
Sam looks like his mum forced him out of bed to do a easter egg recap. I love it. 😍
Always come back to this movie just to see Adult Groot kick ass
When star Lord dropped the orb when he was giving it to the collector it was an accident and they just left it in for a laugh
The most important egg isn’t in the video.
Great video, but the most obvious egg connected to phase 4 is scatter throughout the entire film. How is everyone missing it?
Someone did find Gunn’s grail egg and posted several pictures of it on Quora.
Starlord’s scanner thing reminds me of the reality stone
I do have a question: How does an eight-year-old kid know who Jackson Pollack is? I was hoping you'd being that one up, Sam, but otherwise, great video!
There is a scene at the end where Drax talks about ripping out the spine of someone probably a nod to secret wars #8
They use the number 12 because it is the largest number with the shortest amount of syllables. For quick quips, it works best.
Best
Sam is my favorite, love the weirdness.
watching this in 2018... Stormbreaker and Sikaar we're killing me
Sam has grown on me so much since the start of this series
Oh i thought it was just because he liked Milanos
Its mentioned that the suns are aligned to mimic mickeys head... are they not where the nova corps get the logo thats on all their armour? As in the 3 suns of Xandar placed exactly as they appear in the sky...
11:05 Twelve is just common screenwriting number to use, its one syllable and easy to use.
Damn Sammy with that bedhead
