Venom Snake’s disarm is legit but risky. He has the advantage of his gear and his bionic arm to pull this disarm. However, if us humans were to attempt this disarm, we risk getting cut badly. It’s safer to either run away, or if you must, do an x-block with the back of your hands. You’re still going to get cut, but at least you cut the back of your forearms instead of the front which is closer to your wrist.
You should go over call of duty finishers

I didnt even notice how Venom Snake would just straight up grab the blade because he has a prosthesis, that's a cool detail.

Funny thing is this is exactly what the Mother Base soldier did when tried to disarm Eli in another cutscene, he just wasn't fast enough.

This goes to show how Kojima is so detailed with the CQC of MGS that he made specific tactics of Snake that can take advantage of his “abilities” like the bionic arm. Its pretty amazing.
I wish Kojima had the rights to the MGS franchise. Would love to see him make another one.

Yeah he’s so fast. We had to slow this clip down frame by frame and it’s still hard to see it. Love Metal Gear Solid series so much.
@@ScenicFights is there a way to get his level of reflexes or close to it even if the enemy’s attacks aren’t telegraphed/obvious and attacks are happening/about to happen behind you or beside you just somewhere out of your vision? I’ve seen people dodge and block attacks and things being thrown at them from behind or beside them without them having to turn around and see. Like I want those reflexes were nothing can hit me even if out of my sight. And no not with a bionic arm or transforming into the world’s best soldier. 😓

Actually funny you mention the non biotic arm disarm. In the game, there is a cutscene where a child soldier (I forgot his name) tries to take down one of the diamond dog soldiers. When the kid goes in to attack him he attempts to disarm him using the back of his forearms which stops him from getting cut.
If you don't know Eli's name you haven't played MGSV TPP.

nah I just forgot about him. I actually have played the phantom pain and it's really good. In fact, I enjoyed the game and it's story so much that I have begun to prefer Venom Snake to Solid Snake and Big Boss. By Big Boss, I am referring to the protagonist of MGS3 also known as "Naked Snake". I am clarifying this seeing as you could confuse him with venom snake since they share a title.
(I continue to talk about the story of the title, big boss, below. read if you want, but beware, it contains major spoilers for the events taken place in mgsv.)
In MGSV, TPP, when big bosses phantom learns that he is not actually the original big boss and is merely a double, Big Boss tells him that the title "big boss" is not just one person but is actually a collective legend built by the two of them. Not just a single entity.

This is legit the first time I see someone review a fight scene from a piece of fiction while aknowledging the characters are superhumans and they can do things that are not optimal for us.

No kidding. You're supposed to take context into account, and they never do.
This is why there the only experts I watch when it comes to fight scenes. Others will just say it’s not realistic and move on.
MGS has this japanese military guy that helped choreograph and consult every detail since the early MGS games, not surprised there's such a detail like Snake going for a legit risky disarm thanks to his bionical advantage.
He can also grab her wrist fast enough because he's The Greatest Soldier in the World, Big Boss!

Damn I literally never noticed how much of an advantage the bionic arm gives him in small moments like this. Not even that he's overpowering her with it, just that he doesn't have to be afraid of getting his wrist sliced open.

If you decide to fight the Skulls with CQC, Snake will parry their machete attacks with the bionic arm. It’s definitely the coolest way to take them out.
Moral of the story: Get a biomic arm
If you look at the regular mother base staff left arms while playing as them, they appear to have a metal plate on their left arms for blade blocking like how Venom has his bionic arm. Which means a lot of them can do his kind of blocking, but only when controlled by a player

This is something i love of MGS, they don't just make a movement capture of techniques, no, they hace in count the metal hand, so they atachement to BIG BOSS to show how he adapt to every escenary
Actually something cool I noticed, in this same game there's a cutscene where the white mamba tries to stab one of snakes soldiers and he does that exact same "disarm" you showed us

Are there any channels on learning how to knife fight at home and how to disarm knives? Also are there knives you can get without a permit (and no not the cooling ones)?
@@twentyonetortas5921 you can't adequately learn from home. Find a school that teaches Kali. Knife fighting is quite intricate.
@@twentyonetortas5921 In the U.S. you can get knifes without a permit, and most states have no restrictions on how big they can be. I know in Australia and the UK it’s much harder to get a real knife though.

When I did security, my trainer gave me the best advice for fighting an attacker with a knife.
Be sure about getting into this fight. Because you WILL get cut. Run away now or be ready to deal with it.

I think Venom Snake is much more risky than portrait. Snake's right hand grab much more upper, and make the knife much more close to his body. But than again, he had the option to block it just with bionic arm and he chose holding her whole hand including knife to disarm because he don't worry the cut.

Finally someone who shows the side effects
We practiced LINE when I was in the Marines and this started in bootcamp. I remember one of the recruits asking the LINE instructor what to do if someone is trying to mug you with a knife and you're unarmed. The instructor said "best way to survive this situation is just to toss him your wallet".

The thing about this situation is, I'd rather get cut than get stabbed, especially against someone who knows what they're doing with a knife.
The other thing about this situation with Venom Snake is that he's a strong enough guy that he can knock somebody unconscious from simple judo takedowns.
In addition, he's wearing his stealth armor here. He doesn't really have to worry about blade clearance.
Even just leather is durable enough to handle a slash, but not a stab, and that's due to the reduced surface area as well as the tip of the knife creating a wedge.
In short, people, if you're afraid of being attacked on the street? Wear a couple extra layers. Way more help than you'd think.

the reason snake doesn't want to do an attack on quiet is because he is soft on her. even after almost killing one of his soilders he still gives her a chance. there are examples like the rain scene and the shower scene
