If the price were lower. It would be a great card for 1080p high-ultra gaming. It's power efficiency is superb. But there are other better deals and more affordable price to performance gpu's.

I love the low power consumption on this! I hate the price! I would love to go with AMD on every performance tier they have but damn the power consumption turns me off. Ang mahal kaya ng kuryente dito satin!

rtx 406 vs rx 7600. whats your thoughts?

rtx 4060 better. Sobrang lakas kumain ng power ng 7600. Then mas mabilis din ung 4060. Mas mahal lang din onti.

RTX 4060Ti 16GB vs 8gb is not a marketing BS strategy... 16GB really did help on 1% & 0.1% lows on VRAM demanding AAA+ games.. The problem is the increase in 1% & 0.1% lows ir more or less 10FPS but this is 1% & 0.1% lows we are talking not AVG FPS, as for power efficiency its also more optimize compare to a 3060ti even if it only has x8 lane support and this is a 1080p card not 1440p even if you can use it as entry 1440p GPU.
The REAL PROBLEM HERE IS PRICE TO PERFORMANCE RATIO, The pricing is BS its F* OP, if price well for a rtx **60 series and just like the review said since it has x8 lane you should have a gen 4.0 MOBO & CPU (since some CPU only also support gen 3.0).
MSRP drop by 50 dollars due to rx 7700xt & 7800xt.. as for FG "Frame Gen" its a fake FPS boost, it will boost FPS but it will hit very hard on LATENCY which mean slower keyboard, mouse & monitor, cpu & gpu response rate = LATENCY..
So TBH you don't really like to use FG unless your already playing at very low FPS with this card that's the only time it can really help even if you will get more latency.
Also the fact that AMD is optimizing FSR 3.0 for all games and GPU which is rumored to be as good as DLLS 3.

True. rx 6700 or 6700xt or 3060 12gb. Pero sobrang power efficient ng 4000 series lineup ng nvidia.

as I have no skin in the game it's interesting to see everything play out from casual gamers to the more hardcore consumer

@@hwsph Personally, I passed on the 40-series altogether just because it is a new technological floor that I deem immature for now. Perhaps I'll hop back in when (or if) the 50-series rolls out.
Looking at it from the lens of a communicator (I am a PR professional), they are definitely gunning for the casual market who may not know better and are more malleable for their preferred narrative to take root. NVIDIA's direction seems to be more focused on their software rather than hardware. It really shows in these mid-range offerings. They are not pushing improvements in hardware to reinforce their narrative that DLSS 3.0 and FrameGen is enough to match an actual native raster from a more powerful GPU. There is credence to that narrative because the improvements in upscaling tech are at a point wherein you literally have to look very closely to see a difference from actual rasterization, but it comes at that cost of informed customers (who look at specs such as memory bandwidth, CUs, etc.) feeling short-changed for getting lackluster specs for the price. It's just a matter of leading gamers to make upscaling tech a weightier factor in their purchase decisions. They were quite successful in making Raytracing an integral part of the GPU conversations back in the 20-series. They're trying to do that again here with DLSS and FrameGen.
It's pretty much NVIDIA betting big on their software's capabilities. This is the polar opposite approach to AMD's which always has been hardware-focused (more VRAM, more CUs, more IOPs, etc.) and less about software. Though, their upcoming FSR3 looks promising, AMD is not betting on it as much as NVIDIA is betting on DLSS and FrameGen becoming a more dominant selling idea.
