    Wow! We have almost the exact same build. I still need a dropper. I was gonna get a 100mm because I didn't think it would clear the bottle screws, but now I'll go 150mm. I even have the ground control tires. Fastest tires I've ever used!

      Thank you! :) And yes you can definitely fit a 150 mm dropper but not all of them will work. Get one from OneUp. They fit. Otherwise the TransX 130 mm will work too. :)

    Wow you nailed this build. You’ve done everything I want on mine lol. Iv done bars and stem so far. What would you say the best money spent changes you did? I’m looking to upgrade my forks next. Mind you I’m just getting into the sport and don’t know much. Thank you

    • @brock5678910
      @brock5678910 Před 2 lety +1

      I agree, she's made this bike a fantastic mountain bike that looks good as well, I really love the hawaii frame protection kit with that color👌 I have the Cube Access as a commuter bike which is similar to these marlins and i'd say the fork is the most noticeable/best upgrade you can make. Honestly it made a huge difference changing the original suntour fork to Rockshox judy gold. Next i'd say is the brakes. Drivetrain is the third one i'd upgrade but it's not going to change the bike as much as the fork and brakes but still a worth upgrade for sure

      @@brock5678910 im actually familiar with the Cube Access, very nice bike. The forks are def next on the list but just having a little confusing when it comes down to the model of the Judy that will fit. Iv heard I can stretch the travel 10-20mm more then the factory 100mm travel suntours. I’m under the impression you have to have the same offset which mine is 42mm (I think) but not finding any that match up. Also after hearing in the video about the brake complaints and you as-well telling me to upgrade I realize it’s not just me… the brake on my marlin 6 arnt as good as they could be. Not bad but def think there has to be something better out there. I really appreciate the help and if you happen to know the exact model of those rockshox i would be much obliged. Im about to go scout some trails near by while taking a little rip on the bike, wish me luck and thanks again!

      @sabrinalovesbikes  Před 2 lety +1

      Thank you so much everyone! When it comes forks a slightly different offset will change the geometry ever so slightly. The RS Judy Gold has 51 mm offset. Can only say good things about this fork though. It came with 100 mm travel and it was relatively easy to change the travel to 120 mm providing you have the right tools and oil. When it comes to brakes, the SRAM level I put on this bike are awesome compared to the stock brakes. :)

    • @sabrinalovesbikes
      @sabrinalovesbikes  Před 2 lety +1

      Forgot to mention that this RS Judy Gold fork has a straight steerer tube (1 1/8). They can be harder to find than tapered forks. It is off course possible to install a tapered fork but you’ll have to change the headset. There are special lower cups available that will make it possible to install a tapered fork. :)

    Did you consider doing the extra travel upgrade on the stumpy ?

    • @sabrinalovesbikes
      @sabrinalovesbikes  Před 2 lety

      I’m happy with 140 on the Stumpy so I just installed a better fork on the Stumpy, a revelation which has debon air. If I want to change the travel in the future I need to buy a new air shaft with the right travel. But that’s pretty straight forward too. However, you can easily change the travel on the Rockshox 35 silver that the Stumpy comes with. It has those tokens. :)

    hello, i'm about to buy a new fork for my marlin 6, i'm considering a JUDY GOLD RL, please tell me how this fork behaves? is there no problems with it? I'm afraid it's too thin? how does it perform in the field?

    • @sabrinalovesbikes
      @sabrinalovesbikes  Před rokem

      I liked the Judy Gold. However I decided to put a bigger fork on it (video coming soon). I’m now running a Rockshox Revelation 140 with 35 mm stanchions which feel great on this hardtail. If you decide to get a bigger fork you will most likely have to change the headset too as most of these bigger/ thicker forks are tapered. And it will even require a new through axel boost front wheel as most of these forks are boost. But as for the headset it’s quite easy to do. Bought a “special” headset on Amazon and now the bike can take all the great forks out there. I can give you the specs if you need. And boost wheels are very easy to get hold of too. :)
      However, I turned my Marlin into a trail bike. My full suspension XC bike has a Fox Rhythm 32 fork upfront with 100 mm travel and that’s beautiful too.
      If you’re riding a lot of rough terrain then a bigger fork is helpful otherwise the Judy Gold will serve you well. 😊

      @@sabrinalovesbikes Thank you very much for your quick reply! Yes, I heard about the possibility of changing the wheel and the set head from my TREK serviceman, but I'm wondering if it's necessary because I ride mainly in the forest and small mountains without jumping. If I decide to go on a hard terrain, I will probably change the bike. My only concern is these 30 mm Judy 😊😊

    Buongiorno, per il foro che hai fatto per passare la guaina del telescopio si sono fatte delle crepe?

    • @sabrinalovesbikes
      @sabrinalovesbikes  Před rokem

      No issues around the hole I drilled. I started with a tiny hole and slowly made it bigger so that it fits the wire hose. You need to drill at an angle too otherwise you risk damaging the cable hose. It’s not so difficult. Be aware that you will void the warranty if you do this. :)

  • @jiou876
    @jiou876 Před rokem +1

    140 fork travel? too much. it destroys the geometry of the bike.
    I think this upgrade suites better with the Gen 3 Marlin for it's updated Geometry "Trail Ready"

    • @sabrinalovesbikes
      @sabrinalovesbikes  Před rokem

      It worked though and still climbed like a beast but only because of the choices I made here. The fork had low offset (42) and the lower Headset cup slackened the angle slightly. So I ended up with something that worked really well. I rode it like that for a while and it was fabulous. Now the bike went to my son and has been modified to suit him. 100 mm Manitou upfront. Video coming soon. 😃☀️🚴‍♀️

    So that bike comes with a tapered head tube?

    • @sabrinalovesbikes
      @sabrinalovesbikes  Před rokem +2

      No but you can buy headset cups that will make it possible for you to install a tapered fork. I just did it. And I’m now running a badass Rockshox Revelation on that bike. But this only works if you a 44 mm inner diameter on your head tube which a Trek Marlin has. Will make a video about my current set up in the coming days. :)

    Is this the Gen 2 or Gen 3 Frame? If its the Gen 3 any idea what fork i should get that is better than the stock Sr Suntour xct30? Thanks

    • @sabrinalovesbikes
      @sabrinalovesbikes  Před 3 měsíci

      Sorry for the late reply. It’s the gen 2 frame but I upgraded the headset so it could take a tapered fork. If you want to do the upgrade on a budget, you could go with Rockshox Judy or Manitou Markhor. Both are available at 100 or 120 mm. :)
