- In this vlog I go check out Sunshine Coasts first bike night held at the station in Birtinya on the sunshine coast. It was a bloody awesome turnout and I hope to see everyone there next time for an even bigger night. There were all sorts of motorcycles in all shapes and sizes which was good to see. I also come across a few issues with my fatbob and have to get it picked up by sunshine coast Harley Davidson.

I think your bike was jealous & thought f**k you I'm not starting after the Pan American, haha. Seriously annoying when it happens though. At least it was a simple fix. Great seeing all the bikes & all sorts. Great to see. Keep up the great vids!

Give you some advice. Stay away from HD batteries. Not sure what you have but guessing since it went to the dealer they put a HD battery in for you. Love their bikes but their batteries suck. Speaking from experience.
Ahh okay, cheers mate. What would you recommend? Yeah I was in there reviewing a bike and my old one was flogged so just got it replaced while I was there. They let me review there bikes so I like to take my bike there.

@@Gnarly_Harley I’ve had good luck with Yuasa batteries. Good price too. Run them in my 05 Dyna FXDCI and my 07 Fatboy. Went through 3 HD batteries in 4 years. Only reason I kept going back was they failed within a year so HD warranty covered me. Last one failed just over a year of use thus no warranty. Have had the Yuasa battery for 3 seasons now. No issues. Keep in mind though, if your bike sits for much more than a couple weeks you may want to get a charger on it. They are small batteries.

No way that your bike should have left your property.Anybody would tell you it was battery. It runs on your jumper but not on your battery. You let your battery go flat and you will destroy batteries like that.
Your association and how many times your bike has been in to HD they should have advised you to have a tender and trickle charge . I do it on all our bikes.
Putting the pigtail on is nothing at all. You do that yourself.
I find it crazy that they would run the van out to your place not knowing what your issue was and then take it away. They should have told you to buy a batter (or how to test it with a multimeter) OR bring you a battery out to see if that was the issue.
Taking your bike off your property to their shop unnecessarily is nuts.
My opinion
Btw I will never take my bike to HD again after the stories I know of and the experiences and lies I have had. I suggest you find a bike mechanic you can trust that specialises in Harleys.
Battery is 2 months old so we didn't think it was the issue, and it ran my jump start flat within 5 minutes so that's why my old boy and I thought it was the stator. Anyway that was covered under warranty.
Yes they have told me I should get a trickle charger but when you (usually) ride it atleast 3 times a week it doesn't need it lol. Only reason was as I stated I was riding other bikes for a month.

Crazy ? I thought that was very very helpful, they picked up my bike and got the issue sorted within 24 hours. I'm stoked !!!! As I also said in the video I didn't want to try and keep fault finding and spending money replacing parts.
Sunny coast harley are awesome and were very helpful. They always look after me.
But that's just my personal experience with them.

@@Gnarly_Harley it would have been interesting if you fully charged the battery then started the bike with a multimeter to see if it is cactus.
I know you have a great relationship but please don’t take the bike. They could have saved you and then a whole lot of bother if they told you to charge it fully despite it being new. But if it was dead flat then it’s a distinct possibility it was rooted
I ride almost daily and I always put it on the smart charger. It depends on the distance travelled between starts. It takes a bit to bring it back up to charge if you do short runs.
Glad it’s sorted. You should be fine now you have a smart charger.
