I love that they started the India version. The cultural differences always make for more entertaining episodes when we get to see different kinds of gowns. I really love that with these ones ALL the dresses are always different colors. It makes it so different(for me, anyways, considering I'm used to the typical white dress tradition being American). I'm all for it.
Iâve said this before, and itâs pretty easy to look up: white dresses are only used for funerals. If you wear them at a wedding, itâs like a bad luck charm⊠which implies that the marriage is already dead.
Edit: not completely true.
I have been WAITING to watch a clip from the Indian version! And itâs here!
@@brandoniswhoiam Well different cultures have different practices and the meanings could be different but yeah that would be terrible
Yes, I didnât know they had an Indian version!
I do love seeing their colors and hearing their accents (my favorite!) but the saree on the hanger is just like being at a fabric store, just hanging there flat. đ
It makes me very happy that the show is not sticking to only the traditional red-lehenga-wearing brides to showcase what an Indian bride is. India has so many diverse cultures that a lot of us don't even wear a lehenga; rather indulge in different and gorgeous types of sarees for the wedding, just like in this episode!!!
I am American so of course I have no knowledge, but I WAS under the impression that red was the most bridal color. Thanks for your comment and for teaching us.
@@candacebex4370 This is so sweet! you're always welcome! there are actually many colors; especially from where i come from, in our weddings, we have atleast 3-5 sarees in different colors, each having a different relevance.
100%
@@candacebex4370 It is in some Indian cultures, but not in most. As Sai Kulkarni says, India has so many diverse cultures. I'm so glad they've chosen to show a variety (in the episodes I've seen so far).
Itâs amazing I love all Indian clothes the colors and fabrics are always beautiful!
She looks stunning, and the positivity her family radiates is wonderful. I would love to see more SYTTD India episodes!
Cheers for her Mom. Showing up and surpri
Her Mom showed up and surprised her. Helped her chose a gorgeous sari. She really carried off the gold sari. Looked like a goddess. Amazing
Iâm not Indian, am African American. My wedding dress was custom made for me from the most beautiful sari with fire colors. I looked and felt like an absolute goddess !
The whistle was so cute, the mom was so sweet!!! And the friends were perfect too, critical without being harsh or targeting the bride with their comments..
The gold dress made her look like a goddess. Loved all three of the dresses. The more traditional one (last one) was my favorite, but she was poppin in the gold one.
I loved how she chose not too typical traditional but it is still a traditional saree. Loved it. She looked beautiful in all. the first saree was something you would wear to someone else's wedding.
That was what I was thinking!
The third rose gold was stunning. The bride looked so glamorous in the gold dress with the jewelry. Lovely sari. Best wishes for their wedding and a happy future.
yeah but i see what they mean by the rose gold being too traditional. it was too traditional for my taste too. too typical of what a tamil bride wears. she wanted something more unconventional.
I'm really enjoying this version! She's stunning anyway, and the gold sari just enhanced her beauty. I think she really was true in saying that it suited her personality more than the others. All the outfits were gorgeous and I really love seeing them!
I am not Indian, but if I was getting married, I'd love a Sari way more than our traditional white gown. I love the colors! I would have picked that purple and gold one on the mannequin in the background!
Yes, same! Although I would never want to offend anyone so Iâm not sure đą maybe Iâll find something inspired by Indian clothing, a happy medium?
@@DiscoPrysm you wonât offend anyone! We welcome everyone who wants to experience the culture!
@@poojamalhotra6321 so happy to hear this! Sometimes I feel like itâs just keyboard warriors who get upset about it. I think there is a difference between appropriation and appreciation!
@@DiscoPrysm absolutely ! I think cultures should be shared as long as everyone is respectful.
@@DiscoPrysm . Whilst traditionally worn by Hindu women, it is NOT a religious outfit. You won't offend anyone by wearing one.
In Indian version it's so good to see not only lehengas but also other outfits, some simple, elegant too because sometimes Indian brides outfits are misunderstood as overheavy lehengas
In my opinion, this is how every mother should behave: sincerely and with feeling.
WOW! Iâm blown away! The bride is gorgeous and I love the dresses. Iâm so glad that they expanded this series to India. I wonder if they will continue to expand because wedding attire from everywhere is worth seeing. So beautiful.
I'm so happy you have ur mama there for you! I lost mine a few years back. Cherish her and I wish a wonderful wedding to the bride! The one she picked is absolutely the best!
God bless you â€ïž
She can wear a colorful blouses and it'll give the color that is missing.
I'm in love with this golden Sharee too.
It's drop dead gorgeous
What a joyful, strong , positive mom!
You can see where the bride gets her beauty from, her Mum. What a lovely bride with a wonderful family
Being an Indian and who is also a fan of this show for years am equally thrilled, happy and so jumpy seeing that they have added India too đđđđđđ
Love from kerala, India đźđłđźđł
I so love that there is an Indian version of this show! Idk much about their wedding traditions and styles but have seen a few from celebrity weddings in India and the brides' wardrobes just knocked me out with the gorgeous clothes they wore and I'm excited to learn how regular brides there dress for their weddings. I can't wait to see more of these episodes!
In india different different states different merriage coloured outfit as you wish you choose ..saree..lehanga.. ghaghra... salwar suit ..gown ..etc...with different colours..
The bride was glowing in the golden saree!! So happy to see the Indian version đ they've done it justice đ
I think Indian women are beautiful!
Yayyy an Indian version âșïžâșïž !! Finally a more relatable version đ„ș. And I'm a Tamilian too so it felt so different from watching the bride's choosing white wedding gowns in other countries when this hit so close to home ! âșïž
I love how different this is than the usual white wedding gowns. This is culturally amazing!
I really love that they've introduced this version of the show because honestly, India deserved to have its very own version. Our version is a LOT more different than the existing versions and we would relate to this one more â€ïžâ€ïž
Honestly as being born and brought up entirely in India, I personally would not enjoy this exact kind of experience because I'd ask for a lot more options than they show here. I'd like to choose some outfit myself rather than they already having a panel of outfits selected for me. I'd like a broader spectrum than they're offering here.
And tbh that's how mostly Indians shop. This is just a bit more boujee version because I feel somewhere they want to keep the pattern of the show intact so it's hiding the real Indian essence somewhere..
Still enjoying this version, please bring more episodes.
That gold saree was just gorgeous! Especially the way it was pinned and draped. Gave me such elegant vibes
Mom was adorable! The bride looked beautiful in all the dresses but the gold was definitely it.
I wish they showed the process of putting on the sari. I think most westerners like myself are clueless about the pleating and draping.
That first pastel pink and blue... Just wow!
I was invited to an Indian wedding and had no idea it was a week long event. I am so tired. đ€Łđ€Łđ€đ€
Saris look absolutely gorgeous! The final one she chose was beautiful!
As an Indian, I'm loving being included in this.
Personally, the first one was my favorite (pastel blue & pink are my fave colors), but I agree that it wasnât working for her. She chose the one that worked for her & I love getting to see all these different, beautiful styles of dress.
Pastel one was gorgeous but it was giving wedding guest
I think I'm going to India to find my dress the colors the style the radiance of these dresses is incredible
You are most welcome dear đ
The bride's mom is amazing.... I love everyone's reaction but her Amma's sityy was the best!đ
That first pastel one was just gorgeous! And she in it was just so elegant.
It looked the best in my opinion, I do understand cultural expectations are quite strong and important though.
To give you some perspective that look wasn't really bridal it was more of something a wedding guest would wear.
Also speaking of this episode, I understand that south indian weddings are different from north Indian ones but as an Indian I didn't really 'feel' anything bridal about all these outfits. In north indian weddings even distant relatives would go grander on their outfits.
she is looking like some random girl at wedding not the bride
@@Anon-lg5rj here in South India, brides' dress mostly made up of silk which will be expensive with different embroidery works at the border. But south indian wedding dress is incomplete without jewels and a properly stitched blouse. Here her blouse is very simple and she didn't wear any ornaments. I am sure she must have worn a different blouse with artwork and tons of jewelerys during her wedding.
Aye!! My people! đđŸ The gold saree made her look ethereal! I love, love my culture. I didnât get to grow up with it (was adopted and came to the US as a baby) and I so wish just once in my life I could wear a beautiful saree!
Iâm loving the India version of the show! She really does look like a goddess in the gold. Stunning đ€©
What a beautiful family, inside and out. I love the host, and am looking forward to watching this version of Say Yes to the Dress, in Southern California. Maybe that's my Western bias; I LOVED the pastel sari. But I also LOVED the gold one when I saw it!
Iâm loving these shows and learning about their culture is so fun. The first piece she wore reminded me of a baby shower đthat would be perfect for that or a gender reveal
Sadly we don't have gender reveal in India
You can only know you're baby's gender after birth here
@@avitomer9154 gender reveal is very stupid and outright meaningless in an Indian context, especially the misogyny among North-western Indians and the expenses.
â@@avitomer9154 "sadly"?đ
It is SO AWESOME to see a different culture represented on this show! These saris are GORGEOUS!! The women... are GORGEOUS! I LOVE EVERYTHING!
ThĂ© bride and her family are exquisite. She looked beautiful in all of them. Iâm so glad her mommy turned up, to see her and help her choose the right gown xx
I'm so glad they went with the styling that they did on the third sari, but on the gold one! It suited so much better than that long necklace she had on at first. That necklace, the headpiece, the belt-all just icing on the cake for that gorgeous outfit!
Those sariees (sorry for the misspell) are absolutely beautiful. Indian, Asian and African brides are always beautiful in their native attire đ„°đ„°đ„°
Indians are also Asian so did you mean the rest of Asian brides
Apart from saree, there's also lehengha choli that Indian women wear as bridal.
Tamil at the end was taken my heart with that Golden saree †I can imagine with South Indian make up and ornaments on her day
I love this India version! I like to experience other cultures. The gold is beautiful. But when I think of India I think of rich bold colors. Congratulations đș đ to the bride and groom!
Depends on which part of india you're talking about. If you do some research you would find that each of the 29 states in india has very different cultures and they have different traditional wedding outfits. While bold red and bright colours are a thing in northern India, in south and north east india people go for very calming colours like gold, silver.
@@harshitabhuyan8892 thank you for explaining that đ
Good thing she picked the gold because that would be confusing for all of his friends when he changed his name.
I adore seeing these different styles and all the colour and the mom in this particular episode is an absolute doll
Awesome! I love seeing cultural differences! I wish they would explain a little about the dress customs and the significance of various items, accessories, and colors!
That would tk lot of episodes...so glad everyone is enjoying Indian SYTTD...
@@uk4482 IMO, I think Indian wedding dresses are the most beautiful. They have color, beauty and life.
Love seeing this show embrace different cultures! Enjoyed this episode very much. đ
I'm so happy to discover Say Yes: India! I'm so grateful to see the wide range of colors and varied patterns on luxurious materials. The American versions have customers who are so set on white dresses, nothing but a sea of white. Any splash of color brings warmth. This one is perfection!
All 3 are beautiful. I really liked the pink and blue combo it was so pretty! This bride is so pretty I reckon she'd look good in almost any color
Whoever is doing the pleating on these saris is doing amazing *chefs kiss*
She looked beautiful in all 3 but I'm so glad she chose the gold it suited her so well.
I think Indian formal fashion is gorgeous. I'm so excited that this is a version of the show now đ
The gold sari she picked looked stunning on her. Her appreciation for her mother and close friends is heart warming đ
I LOVEEEEE the gold one on her, it makes her look sooo elegant and goddess like. Also, I personally think it suits her skin tone the best out of the three dresses. She was glowing
She seems so lovely đ it's clear her love for her family is so strong, and she is so in love with her fiancee. I hope they are so so happy together
I loved all the saris on her, but the gold one was the perfect choice for her. She looked so beautiful and very happy.
I got SO excited to see an addition to this show where thereâs dresses/other traditions where the dresses arenât traditionally white!!!
I adore her and her choice. The gold is unbelievably stunning on her. She looks amazing. I love her mother. I love everything about this
I wish they addressed that the gold blouse was NOT the blouse that goes with all the sarees and showed how those looked. I'm glad she went with the gold saree, she looked amazing in it
This brides cute sounds are adorable when she sees her mum. :)
The mother is adorable. The bride looked stunning. Thx&see yađ
Thank you for adding India. I appreciate seeing other cultures!
The surprised squeak was so cute. This family seems so sweet
Just beautiful! That gold really made her skin radiant!
Love this !! Please more India episodes!! Stunning beautiful women!!
She looked magical in her dressđ The gold just looked so stunning on her.
More cultural videos please! I thoroughly enjoyed this episode. đ
Once they accessorized the gold, that was it! She is such a beautiful bride.
I low-key wanted to see the dress in the background though with the funfetti looking colors
I know she didnât want to be typical but I really did like the red one lol. All looked super pretty though
I am so here for SYTTD India, bring it.
Looking forward to a different perspective on bridal couture and traditions
Wow, I have always watched all the episodes of say yes to the dress and I really loved that they came up with the Indian version and I am south indian too. I loved all the saree. The saree would have worked if the blouse would had more work like looked heavy because saree doesn't has much work like embroidery and mirror work so blouse should have been heavy. And that something I think the bridesmaid might wear. But as long as the bride is happy and feels beautiful it doesn't matter how the saree looks.
I have always loved their clothes & seeing them choose their wedding sari is great, I donât know how they do it picking my favourite would me so difficult I love them all.
The way her mother portrait about her feelings at the end was top notch â€
The pastel sari made me gasp. So pretty.
The gold saree was going with her complexion so well...it was đ€
The gold washed her out.The last one gold and red glowed on her!
I absolutely love the Indian people! My favourite people đđ„°đđŒ
Indian fabrics are absolutely gorgeous. She looked beautiful in all of them
So good to see yes to a sari! Love it! The pastel one was beautiful too, would work for other ceremonies. The golden saree is fabulous!!
Love the colors and perfect pleats in these gorgeous saris. The gold and green one at 8:32 is stunning!
So glad to see another Indian episode. And love seeing sareeâs & beautiful colourful outfits. Plus the brides are so stunning. I love the gold on her. Maybe with red jewellery & flowers? Oooo the third one is gorgeous too. I think itâs the saree blouse that isnât quite working in that one though.
I love that in finishing a western ensemble, they bring out a veil - to complete an Indian ensemble, they bring out the jewelry!
Why did they never change the blouse? I feel like that was what the mom wanted to see.
Blouses are made when the real event comes, and can be styled as and how someone likes, she can still wear a different blouse if she wants to. There's no point in changing the blouse repeatedly while trying on đ
I agree....I think that's where she can get a contrast
I love watching say yes to the dress and I am so happy to see India as a part of it .....I love this inclusivity.... can't wait to see more of these â„ïž
She and her mother are absolutely beautiful! đŻ
Omg so amazing to see an indian version especially people from tamilnadu it's an emotion â€ïž
I liked the orange sari best, but all three were gorgeous.
This is so much more interesting than the White, mostly look-alike dresses in the other shows of this franchise.
Oh this is just so beautiful . Lovely to see these textures and fabrics đ
I've seen this ep and I love love love dresses on another girl in this ep that she tried and chose. So beautiful, I wish you guys show her snippets in here.
What an amazing and encouraging entourage â€ïž
Love her mom man.. of course as any mom she wants to see options to choose the best for their baby and the that whistle â€â€
Love all the dresses, but the gold was outstanding. Beautiful young woman. And the Mother was perfection! â€
They all looked beautiful on Divya, but I'm glad she chose the gold - she did look like a goddess!
Dhool kelapitađđâ€â€đ€â€she looks so beautiful
I love this Indian version, and she looks STUNNING in her golden Sari
As an Indian, this rocks! đđđ
What a great family...beautiful bride to be x
She looked absolutely stunning đ I agree the first didnât look bridal at all. The last although it looked bridal was not HER. And that GOLD saree omg!!! Congrats and warmest wishes for a beautiful married life Divya di!!
The pastel sari is beautiful, my favourite. Loved her mother
