What happens in a Motorcycle Crash?
Injury to the scaphoid is one of the most common motorcycle injuries.
It can be extremely painful and takes a long time to heal. while it heals, you have little to no ability to grip.
The patented Knox scaphoid protection system consists of 2 low-friction pads positions on the palm of each riding glove.
Knox SPS allow the palm to slide across the road, eliminating grab effect which causes hyper extension which reduces the risk of scaphoid injury.
ALL KNOX GLOVES COME WITH SPS

I won't EVER ride without KNOX sliders again - All it takes is one fall- these are brilliant and I don't notice them at all. I'm not your typical buyer either...but I wear Scorpiion SGS gloves on my 2000 Harley Softail WITH 16" ape hangers!
Like so many reviews for gloves WITH the Knox sliders...it's just a cheap-out that every maker doesn't put them in. (to me)

    Regarding your statement at 0:33
A material cannot have higher coefficient of friction than another material. Friction is not a material property. Coefficient of friction can only exist between the interface of two objects. Saying that the material has higher coefficient of friction is wrong. What you could say is that coefficient of friction between leather and asphalt is greater than between your material and the asphalt if that is the case.
Anyways, cool product, might check it out!

As a motorcycle-gear reviewer, I cannot recommend the Knox palm sliders enough. They've saved my hands in the past. I've watched the morphing of the Knox palm sliders from past till now as many of my gloves have all their design iterations. I can safely state that Knox has developed their palm sliders to feel as part of a glove's chassis & not just as chunks of TPU. Absolute must-haves the Knox palm sliders are. Love them!

You should make a lighter version of these gloves for cyclists aswell. That's another group of road users at high risk of wrist injury from a spill.

apart from three fractures in my pelvis - guess what I also broke - the scaphoid bone in my right hand. Wish I'd been wearing a pair of KNOX gloves.

Very clever, well put together video. I was out yesterday on my H****y wearing my Segura Leather ”Chopper"gloves. Don't laugh I bought them in a French ski resort over 20 years ago as they were warm and now looking rather shabby chic and worn they are pressed into service as mid season motorcycle gloves.
But I had to put finger to tablet as an even longer time ago (think FS1-Es, Garelli Tiger Cross and the poor kid whose parents bought him an SS50) we would fall off at 20 mph with alarming regularity. If there's one thing I remember it's the sight of my friends sprawling head long across the Tarmac with their arms outstretched. The foolhardy few without gloves only did it once after suffering the dreaded gravel rash. I never really thought about "friction coefficient" on my gloves, more along the lines of ”f**k there's that bloody gravel on my line". But this is the perfect wakeup call to go glove shopping.
Thank you Knox for helping me spend money 🤓🤓🤓

The MkIII handroid in a 3XL is a really big glove and we get great feedback on the fit for people who have really large hands, including "workers hands" as you said;). Did you try these on? Goodness what a terrible advert! Titled "what happens when you fall off a motorcycle" but in terms of actual relevance rather than random people falling over and shots of goats and Danboard, contains but a few seconds (obnoxiously cut up and spliced in in random fractions of a second) of a single synthetic test, footage that has been shown off by Knox for years now. If this was my first exposure to Knox, I would have discarded the concept as a load of marketing wank with no substance to back it up! And that's coming from someone who owns 4 pairs of Knox gloves (Handroid mk4 x2, Orsa mk2, Zero 2 Outdry mk2 ) bought specifically because of the SPS. based on research that has come from everywhere EXCEPT KNOX THEMSELVES!

    • @KnoxArmour
      @KnoxArmour  Před 6 lety +1

Hi Edz44, sorry you didn't like the ad. Not sure we'd agree on the ad not clearly describing how the Knox SPS works, nor that we haven't put out informative content on our products or Knox SPS, we just don't agree on that. We did invent the solution and had to thoroughly research and develop it to achieve our patent. We then launched it successfully to the market place, no small undertaking. That being said, we want to thank for your comment and thanks for the continued support of Knox by continuing to purchase and use Knox products.
