So Crocodile took luffy out 2 times, Kaido did as well. In order to surpass him, luffy needs to lose again… So this video was just another Raid failing propaganda
@Fearless Joy If you are talking about “Ragnarok” which briefly put Luffy unconscious, I don’t personally treat that as a defeat. To me it was just to set up zoro protecting luffy and for luffy to get a grasp of conqueror’s haki attack to justify his epiphany. Objectively he would’ve lost. But narratively it wasn’t’t treated as one.
@Vegito's Cricket Craze It was just the framing of the defeat. The second defeat to crocodile was framed as a big deal (specially on the chapter that happened, 201) more akin to luffy falling from onigashima, than to ragnarok, an "defeat" that luffy recovered from and continue fighting. Similar to the fall from onigashima, in subsuquent chapters we see how luffy recovered from that defeat and has to go back to pursuit the villain.
@Fearless Joy It doesn't count unless one of them leaves the area. Luffy was knocked down but he got back up and kept fighting but after first defeat and the latest he was not getting back up without help.
Luffy challenged Kaido and lost back when Kaido seemingly killed all the strawhats then the supernova challenged Kaido and Big Mom so I wouldn't say Luffy lost that fight because it was a team battle, loss conditions are the entire team getting KOed or killed and at the end of the day the team didn't lose the fight was discontinued and after Luffy got up again it was genuinely just him vs Kaido so I'd say Kaido beat Luffy twice. If you want to count all the times he KOed Luffy then you can add the ragnarok.

The most compelling art of Doffy isn't just his backstory, but how it foils against Rocinante, despite the kindness of his family, je was born with the natural superiority complex of the world, only to experience unimaginable suffering after having that taken from him and subject to the retribution of those he considered his inferiors. Dont let yourself ignore mori over the plushi fluteting calming "the raid on onigashima will end in failure" Bestquote , he wants a fight. The weapons is another fact from crocodile, crocodiles goal in alabasta, was pluton, which kaido wants even more.
Kaidos flashback is actually the thing I am currently hyped the most for, despite all the amazing shit that is going on and will go on until the arc is done.
Kaido's introduction is probably the best character introduction in the series. It comes right on the heels of the defeat of Doflamingo, while the crew is at their lowest point in the New World, the members either recuperating from the battle or evading the Big Mom Pirates. We get our first update on the movements of some of the other Supernovas in a while, only for their meeting to be disrupted from something massive falling from the sky. Then later we cut to Urouge reverently watching a shadowy figure about to jump off a sky island and we get the awesome narration about Kaido looking for a place to die as he jumps and once again doesn't die. Then he proceeds to seemingly wipe out three Supernovas and their crew out of boredom. His He's designed to be a slow burn villain imo. His character is initially distant because our heroes are so far away from him in terms of power that he appears to be just a force of nature to start with, but as Luffy has closed the gap we get more glimpses into his motivations. The introduction of Yamato also gave him another facet. Given enough time I can easily see Kaido ranking besides Crocodile and Doflamingo.
To be honest, Kaido doesn't feel as insurmountable as Crocodile did in Alabasta. Back then the Shichibukai seemed like the peak of the pirating world and the Strawhats stumbled into one just as their journey was starting. It felt way too early for them to be fighting one and that's what made him so intimidating. Kaido, on the other hand, is being fought right at the point where we're expecting Yonko to start falling as Luffy has already beaten and befriended several warlords and even has a former warlord on his crew, so they're no longer a big threat. He was also only at the end of a big plan meant to take him down, while with Crocodile they were suddenly roped into the entire thing.
I love doffy line in pirate warrior's 4 when your playing kaido doffy saying like Who made this man angry!!! Or if there is any man i don't wanna fight it's him
One thing that Crocodile had that Kaido doesn't is that Crocodile was a strategist. It always seemed like he was one step ahead. That's what elevated Crocodile's threat level for me.
So far Crocodile is still my favorite villain . Doflamingo was just super annoying for me with his hax DF and super dirty tactics on every step. Yes he gave the Strawhats a lot more trouble than Crocodile, but he lacked the style. Crocodile was a cold, calculating and calm badass, who got straight to the point.
I think Doffy being on the ropes made him scarier. Yeah he may not look as powerful, but the more desperate he becomes the nastier stuff he can do. Like when he just said "fuck it, I'm gonna kill everyone with the bird cage"
In honesty I think Big Mom has been a much stronger antagonist for this emperor saga; and rival for luffy overall than Kaido. But it still feels like there’s so much left to explore with Kaido even now, so it’s still an open discussion for me.
@@visionaryvjae5641 I wonder if the raid fails, if it could fail so spectacularly that the straw hats are completely driven out of Wano. Then the Big Mom/Kaido alliance goes and captures Shirahoshi or something because of info from Caribou. Onigashima gets dropped on the Capitol, Big Mom pirates get up the waterfall to back up Kaido, the crew runs away with momo and Yamato in tow. Maybe this is all so horrible that they decide they need a powerful weapon to face Kaido, and this is what motivates Franky to finally build Pluton? It's powerful enough to destroy an island, right? What if they evacuate Wano and then blow it to smithereens with Pluton? Or maybe, they at least blow the bottom half apart, bringing it down to sea level and opening it up to the rest of the world Probably too spicy
The raid failing, yes. the further we go the more "unlikely" it seems. but that all might just be a trick to make us feel confident; to make us feel safe. But Imagine this potential scenario: The allied forces manage to defeat the beast pirates and victory seems almost secure. HOWEVER ... Kaido still stands, and none of the remaining combatants stands a chance against him. So one by one He ends up crushing and defeating every single one of them. Merciless and efficiently, like he always does. The Raid can not succeed, as long as Kaido stands. Therefore the Raid WILL fail, as long as Luffy is unable to take Kaido down. The entire plot point of "power balance" is only there to distract from this fact.
But also that would mean wano doesn’t end even next year because this act inverts marinefotd and everything goes towards Luffy hinself being on his highest point others might die and be scarred whatever but Luffy hinself will be at his greatest and kinemon kiku kanjurro died and ashura is stabbed and should be dead but we don’t know and yasuie died and numerous allied force members are dead or incapicated really if they lose luffy should die and all wano citizens should die otherwise it will be plot armour
When we have started Dressrosa arc, I don't think most anticipated that it will be that long. Maybe something like this will happen here. I would take a satisfying ending (as this arc have a tremendous build up) over making it shorter than it needs to be.
I think blackbeard will be the greatest villian by the end of one piece. He is already very good and well written with much screentime and the most parallels to luffy and his arc didnt even come yet
Wouldn't go so far as to say I'm souring on Kaido, but I do feel like the process of actually digging into his backstory is over due. We are obviously getting regular hints and suggestions there is more to him, but the fact it's all being kept so cryptic this far along is making things drag. Like many perceived pacing issues, some of that probably comes from reading weekly. However, I genuinely feel we are getting a constant stream of "oh man, Kaido is really cool and super deep...just wait for it" without really delivering. Hopefully getting his back story changes my mind, but right now I just kinda roll my eyes every time he shows up because I know we are probably going to get like 2 lines of dialogue dropping old hints in new ways.
Kaido will never manage to reach high levels of hateability, because he had to share the arc with Orochi, the villain that actually rustles your jimmies. On the other hand Blackbeard is gonna be the full package he can be detestable, likable, has his own interesting philosophy, has quite a peculiar relationship with Luffy, and is becoming quite powerful really fast.
Big Mom is my favourite villain, but Croc is a good second. But Big Mom is in an awkward spot of never having been the main antagonist of any arc so I get why she wasn't included. I'm really looking forward to Kaido being developed though.
Great work with the morj soft toy. I'll try to tell my friends to buy it although I don't think they will. Don't worry morj, even if no one buys it, it's a good soft toy.
Kaido has already been my personal favourite villain in One Piece but I definitely think his backstory will do the same for so many others who are waiting for that extra bit of fleshing out. Not only do I love his design, but his personality is so fascinating. He can be this comedic, suicidal drunk on one hand, flying around Wano absolutely wasted and being an idiot, but then he turns into this really thoughtful, introspective bad ass with a code of honour. Then you add his various techniques, the aura surrounding him, his reputation (on land, sea and in the air always bet on Kaido) it's just made for a villain I love to see on screen and also can't wait to see Luffy land that final blow.
I loved Kaido from the moment he was introduced and I knew that he was going to be a great villain in one piece just from his introduction... I was shocked to find out that people didn't like him at first and thought he felt "generic" until recently all of a sudden the fandom are taking a liking to him...
I think kaido dream of the ultimate war is cuz he saw how his captain’s legacy was erased and doesn’t want to give the government the chance (also could see white beard somewhat wanting a similar death) also looking at kaido, he spares his rivals. I think that’s cuz he wiped out Moira’s crew and lost one of his rivals. So I can see why he so hesitant to kill luffy, and almost kinda feels like he training him
this man seeing the Flying Six go down every chapter and Oda following his formula of Luffy getting beat then needing to maneuver his way back to the big boss with the country he’s trying to save watching him win and STILL saying the raid might fail… I need the amount of commitment Morj has to this theory with something… anything.
Onigashima has to drop on the Capitol because it's a foreshadowing for Uranus itself being an absolutely gigantic ancient technology airship/spaceship, and also the lost city of the void century, that Raftel will direct you to as the reward for the One Piece. People with the D. lineage factor are capable of controlling it, but Vegapunk has been aboard it for years studying it's technology and trying to figure out how to control it. The final race for the one piece will be between everyone with the D., to capture and control Uranus. When the Straw Hats finally wrest control of it, Luffy will pilot it and crash it into Marie Jois, literally crash landing and smashing the ancient city of Raftel through Marie Jois, and destroying the red line there in the process. And it'll be a mirror inversion of Kaido dropping Onigashima on the flower capitol. This is my hot take, @ me 8 years from now
Also, Kaido's design will make it hard for him to make a gigantic leap from top 50 character to top 20 or top 10 so I don't see him ever going above Doffy and Crocodile in the fans eyes for a villain. This might sound shallow but if you look on the polls, people like characters who have a bit more sleek design: Katakuri, Doffy, Crocodile. Kaido is almost portrayed as a giant. So the human-like connection readers would have to a villain's appearance, he lacks and thats never gonna change. And keep in mind that people like Doffy can STILL come back to the story as a villain in some ways.
Kaido is probably an underdog for most of his past life. Experiencing defeats left and right. But despite all of that, he came out on top today. He's someone who experienced defeat and grinded back to the top.. A perfect opponent for the future Pirate King
Yet on the other hand there is purity in how unequivocal of a dickbag Crocodile was. Doflamingo honestly talked way too much about himself and Law that the impact of his backstory lessened. The beats of Crocodile's motivations were concise and unpronounced; you could confer yourself that he might have been a dreamer himself but was hardened by the world, which was an important point to make that early in the Grand Line.
@@Dreamfillah yeah. Idk tbh, I just feel like there's something short in his Character and I figured out that he's still covered with mysteries. A proper backstory can elevate his character to S tier. I also doesn't feel his charisma that much.
1. He's not old yet (in terms of our experience with him) 2. He strong 3. He part of extremely important developments right now Etc. In case you didn't notice, I'm a bit poking fun at the whole type of discussion.
There's only one thing preventing kaido from being the greatest villain so far: his design. It just doesn't come close to crocodile and to doflamingo's design, we can apply the same for those who see katakuri as a villain, if he didn't have such a cool design ppl wouldn't like him near as much as they do
Yea can definitely see it, I mean the Wano arc is the climax of pretty much the entire new world half of the story and Kaido is at the center of it with connections to Rox, and from his dialogue in the recent chapters it seems he also has knowledge about Joyboy and the void century. Looking forward to his backstory
If he knows about Joyboy and the void century I'd bet he knows about Im-sama too I bet that's the tragic justification for destroying Wano by turning it into a weapons factory, he's trying to arm himself to the teeth to face what he sees as an ultimate evil. Maybe Im-sama was involved somehow on God Valley? He might be the foil to Luffy in how he's trying to prepare to face off against the world government- instead of relying on his friends and building friendly alliances by bringing people together, he's arming himself to the teeth and making people his slaves to do it, and waiting to fight until he's perfectly ready.
By the time you do a Marineford Analysis video it will have become enough of a meme I bet multiple fans of yours will have already released their own. Heck, I’m tempted to as a joke lol.
Very well thought out video. I do think Kaido has gotten a lot more interesting recently with the things he's saying, he's one flashback away from being one of the top villains.
@@PrimeofPerfection it doesn't really have to be that way. Oda might try something else anyway as long as its entertaining in the end it doesn't really matter.

In honesty I think Big Mom has been a much stronger antagonist for this emperor saga; and rival for luffy overall than Kaido. But it still feels like there’s so much left to explore with Kaido even now, so it’s still an open discussion for me.
Yeah, I mean we did go to WCI before visiting Wano.
Or maybe, they at least blow the bottom half apart, bringing it down to sea level and opening it up to the rest of the world
Probably too spicy
@@KingMinish I hope kaido will not defeat in this arc and will involve further
Can't agree more with both of you. If luffy just defeats Kaido on their next face off, it will feel very anti-climactic
@@MrRobotdragon but at this point Wano is just too long. Unfortunately the ending will likely be trash.
When we have started Dressrosa arc, I don't think most anticipated that it will be that long. Maybe something like this will happen here.
I would take a satisfying ending (as this arc have a tremendous build up) over making it shorter than it needs to be.
@@misterbk1791 yeah man, I really hope the main character dies before the series even finishes.. I can’t wait to no longer have any one piece to read!
You mean greatest villain.. so far
My thoughts exactly.
Kaido said the lurking legend would be the strawhats' greatest villain.
I think blackbeard will be the greatest villian by the end of one piece. He is already very good and well written with much screentime and the most parallels to luffy and his arc didnt even come yet
Black Beard, Im-sama, Akainu may surpass him
Wouldn't go so far as to say I'm souring on Kaido, but I do feel like the process of actually digging into his backstory is over due.
He just had to mention the raid failing at the end let's go Morj my GOAT!!
Always preaching that “Raid will Fail” speech just made my buy a plushie
All I care about is Sakazuki's reaction when he know about Im Sama.
Greatest villain lol
Good joke!
I wish this video was an hour 🥲can’t wait for Kaido backstory such a sweet character
czcams.com/video/PJSTcGaHego/video.html👍👍😂😅😂😂
Personally I liked how crocodile and doflamingo were imitated especially Ussop's version.
Had to mention the raid failing at least once, didn't you?
Good video, though. We'll see if Kaido lives up the expectation.
I like how every chapter Kaido is in he becomes a more interesting character
How can Kaido be the greatest evil if he doesn't believe the raid will fail?
CLEARLY MR MORJ IS TGE BIGGEST BAD OF ONE PIECE!
I loved Kaido from the moment he was introduced and I knew that he was going to be a great villain in one piece just from his introduction... I was shocked to find out that people didn't like him at first and thought he felt "generic" until recently all of a sudden the fandom are taking a liking to him...
Morj: 14 minutes of well reasoned analysis as to why Kaido is great.
Last 30 seconds: Also if Kaido makes the Raid fail he's the GOAT.
So I can see why he so hesitant to kill luffy, and almost kinda feels like he training him
I am not sure, doflamingo was much more interesting to watch.
Yes man, doflamingo is the best. But we have to wait and see if there's something else to kaido's character.
#DoffytheGOAT
@@firefistace7857 mainly because he's also a part of Roger's era which provokes our interest
All together now kids,
“The raid on Onigashima will FAIL”
Just here to say the discord is quite awesome 👌
this man seeing the Flying Six go down every chapter and Oda following his formula of Luffy getting beat then needing to maneuver his way back to the big boss with the country he’s trying to save watching him win and STILL saying the raid might fail…
I need the amount of commitment Morj has to this theory with something… anything.
This is my hot take, @ me 8 years from now
Finally someone made a video on this topic
Wheres the Gecko Moria/ Thriller Bark analysis?? Thriller Bark is such an underrated arc
Was afraid to see no mention of the raid failing but Morj never lets its audience down
Spitting facts as usual 💯
Kaido is one of the worst villains now 😅
Oda did him dirty
Morj please stop calling my house, no I don't want any more of your plushies! AND YES I do want a marineford analysis
After that scene where Kaido gave Momo a chance to save himself by giving a different name, led me to having high hopes for Kaido as a character.
Crocodile is B+ or A- villain.
He just lacks proper backstory to elevate his character. There's tons of mysteries that still surrounds Crocodile.
I don't think you need a backstory to be a great villain. Crocodile is an A villain by one piece standards.
Though Doffy is probably better than Croc
@@Mario-ll7lf that's what I'm trying to say. Other than charisma, the difference is lesser background on Croco-boy.
You know the video will be good when you see in the preview that he lifts his hands and cuts the air.
Kaidos flashback also has ab added bonus of it being tied deeply to the history of the world
1. He's not old yet (in terms of our experience with him)
2. He strong
3. He part of extremely important developments right now
Etc.
In case you didn't notice, I'm a bit poking fun at the whole type of discussion.
Got a plushie to commemorate my faith in the raid ending in failure
Great video but when are we getting the alabasta analysis video??????
Big Mom > Doflamingo and Crocodile as a villain, but no one ever talks about her.
Fuck no! Do you have brain damage? Big mom was not even a real villian she was a benchman for the strawhats!
Why do you think that
Not really
morj notice me i watched both those ads all the way through just for u
There's only one thing preventing kaido from being the greatest villain so far: his design.
It just doesn't come close to crocodile and to doflamingo's design, we can apply the same for those who see katakuri as a villain, if he didn't have such a cool design ppl wouldn't like him near as much as they do
Yea can definitely see it, I mean the Wano arc is the climax of pretty much the entire new world half of the story and Kaido is at the center of it with connections to Rox, and from his dialogue in the recent chapters it seems he also has knowledge about Joyboy and the void century. Looking forward to his backstory
If he knows about Joyboy and the void century I'd bet he knows about Im-sama too
I bet that's the tragic justification for destroying Wano by turning it into a weapons factory, he's trying to arm himself to the teeth to face what he sees as an ultimate evil.
People who think the raid will fail: 🤡🤪
People who think the raid won’t fail: 😎🤴🏾
The raid failing and now this? I think Morj developed a villain crush
Very well thought out video. I do think Kaido has gotten a lot more interesting recently with the things he's saying, he's one flashback away from being one of the top villains.
I missed a "so far" in the title, I felt clickbaited watching the video
Great video
I also love to believe in Oda. I trust that at this point his prose with a pen is so good that he will deliver with Kaido
I guess this is going to be our new community mantra, since the raid won't fail.
The raid falling would only shake things up for the better now that i think about it
You want 100 more chapters of Wano, repeating the same story beats?
@@PrimeofPerfection it doesn't really have to be that way. Oda might try something else anyway as long as its entertaining in the end it doesn't really matter.
I definitely agree with this, I mean oda introduced kaido with the greatest introduction possible. He not gonna fumble with kaido
