    Here's a tip for the next Toyota you do with a smart key. To stop the dinging, just hit the door switch on the door jamb, locks the wheel and stops is from dinging.

      I didn't know that. Usually if I get tired of it I flip the latch inside the door. Honestly though, if I'm not making a video I Usually have headphones in and can't hear the dinging. Lol

    Fairly new to tinting here… I’ve watched a lot of your videos. Recently, I watched your video on the 99 jeep Cherokee and noticed you used a sharpie to make sure you had no light gaps. Would that method work on this particular quarter window? I have a 22 Camry lined up next week.

      You could use the sharpie method for the quarters on these Camry's. The problem you will have though is getting the film in behind the seal without creasing it or sucking up trash. Some people shove hard cards and corner tools in the seal while they do the rest of the car to make a little space. Othe people stick some speaker wire in there and leave it. Personally I find it faster and cleaner to just pull the glass, get it tinted edge to edge and reinstall it. You will have to find the method that works best for you. As you can see all you need is basically a 10mm socket or wrench, a Philips screw driver and some kind of tool to pop the screw coveres.

      I've seen enough of these windows done poorly that I'm going to have to disagree.

    What if you just you plotter cut tint and a hard card to tuck the edges?

    • @fastlanecarcarellc3608
      @fastlanecarcarellc3608  Před 5 měsíci +1

      I don't use a plotter but if the software you're using has a good pattern then that's great, the biggest issues with these are the top corner and front edge. There is not much room at all at the top and the seal is pretty tight so getting it in there nicely without any contamination or creases is not worth the hassle for me since they come out so easy. Some tinters shove wire in the seals to create space, some shove hard cards and corner tools in there while they tint the rest of the car to help loosen the seals. I've tried the last method and you spend more time shoving tools into the seals than if you just pop them out and be done with it.
      But in the end it's really personal preference.

      Sorry man I just watched the rest of video where you did explain that, I stopped watching earlier cause I was like fff that! lol.
      I’m brand new to window tinting I just went to a 5 day class that wasn’t that great either I’ve learned way more from CZcams. Out of the I only have done 7 vehicles so far and only 1 was a car with wing windows.. 06 Mercedes e350. They did not teach us how to cut out a wing window that doesn’t have a black border around it to hide the cut.
      Luckily when that car came it was the day I got the tint cutting software for my plotter lol. And the did cut out perfect I had to mess with getting them tucked maybe 5 minutes… looked great. But I was like man wtf would I have done without the plotter! Your way would be the only other way for perfection.
      Right now I’m having a nightmare with a 89 Jetta rear window … it’s a rubber seal type so no tucking & there’s no black border. Any tips? Searching for that is how I came to your video lol.
      Thanks

      @farmthis no worries at all! I can never remember what all of covered in a video anyway so I didn't know if I explained it or not. 🤣 as far as the Jetta, your best bet is to shrink and cut like normal and then when you're all done prepping the inside you want to run a thin bead of clear Elmer's school glue around the top and side edges for sure, bottom too if possible. Then mist the glass and install like normal. I like to sgueege the top out first to keep junk from going back into the tint (that's what the glue is there to help with) when doing the glue trick, I'll push up to about an inch or so away from the edge, then wrap with a paper towel to catch the glue that's going to squeeze out with the slip.
      If your edges are touching the hard rubber, trim them by pushing a hard card into the edge and run your blade down it. On these style windows the inside and outside never really match up so often times trimming is required.
      A small light gap is standard and should be explained to customer ahead of time BUT if you want to take it to the next level you could use a bead of black window/door silicone or black "puffy paint" which can be found in any arts crafts section at Walmart or specialty stores. I recorded a couple of videos on the puffy paint trick but apparently they never made it to CZcams

    U should just do the headgasket while ur in there 😂😂😂 if ur a good tinter no need for all this mess 😂😂

    • @fastlanecarcarellc3608
      @fastlanecarcarellc3608  Před 2 měsíci

      The head gasket(s) are conveniently located under the hood.... Not the back doors. And yeah you could say that but what you must not know is that a lot of those "good tinters" are cutting the seals back or stuffing wires into the seals. I've seen a lot of these windows done by those "good tinters" with no shortage of contamination or cuts that are too short, etc.
      I appreciate you watching and leaving a comment though! Have a good one!

    Yep I've seen some crazy shit but this has to take the prize get the correct tools and stop taking shit apart done sooo many of those cars that small window is among the easiest ones.

    • @fastlanecarcarellc3608
      @fastlanecarcarellc3608  Před 3 měsíci

      Oh I can assure you I have the correct tools. So which technique do you prefer, cutting the seal back or wedging hard cards in them to create space? Oh or shoving speaker wire in the seal?
      I've seen so many of these done poorly from tinters that are too lazy to pull the glass and do it right. But hey, if your customers are happy, keep doing it your way.

    That's actually a vent glass. Quarter glass is the glass that is mounted to the body behind the door. But clearly this one doesn't have a quarter glass.

      Thanks for the input! I've seen them called port windows as well in this industry so I just call any of the little baby windows quarter windows. 😅 but what you're saying makes more sense. Thanks for watching!

      @@fastlanecarcarellc3608 also, one more tip that I noticed while I was watching the video. If you don't wanna listen to that door chime the whole time, if you just press that little rubber button in the door jam that the door pushes in when it closes, it stops the chime from going off. just so you don't have to close the door if you want to keep it open.👍

      @noahpuryear8755 smart. A lot of times I just flip the latch but normally if I'm not recording, I have music going so I can't hear it anyway 🤣 gonna try your method next time.
