Honestly Sally fit in like a glove. Even with her social issues, she presented herself as comfortable and I belief towards the end she actually was. The boyz create a comfortable friendly environment so I think that goes along way. But she was great.
Yeah and the fact that (as always) it's more of a conversation rather than an interview relieves some of the pressure of her having to talk all the time. Which as someone with anxiety as well, it helps a lot!
she's like a less crazy Kaho, definitely one of the top guests. Honestly, this is the first time I've heard of her and I already love her.

Sally's videos with her subtitles are genius. Those that can understand both languages feel like they are in on some inside joke. Also shows that she is good at comedic writing. I can just imagine her writing her own English lines for the English dub of Gintama if she ever got that chance
The funny thing is, she is a big fan of Tomokazu Sugita aka Gintoki himself.
Hell if Gintama is still continuing I can see her getting a role.

Sally is definitely my favorite guest, she so relatable and humanistic that it’s endearing. We need more Sally in every aspect. Sally and Oshi no Ko are the gateway to becoming Idol fans. After letting her cook for a while, you can hear the LA roots in her laugh and overusage of “like”.

Light turned off three times, ambulance siren, Connor clocking off early and changing seats mid-recording. Might as well keep it running and then nominate it as the most scuffed episode of the year

I feel Sally so much. Back when i was 14 i felt the same way she did and had no desires or ambitions. It was hard time, but I really liked that one video game (Dragon Age 2) and i decided to still around at least till Dragon Age 4 come out. This little goal gave me peace and time to figure out myself.
I know now that Dragon Age 4 probably will never release, but now I have goals and people that support me. So if you have nothing, create yourself a goal no matter how silly and absurd it is.

I always notice how expressive joey's hand gestures are. Impressively so. And I also notice that Garnt sometimes just repeats what was just said without adding anything.
They all do that from time to time.
I don't have an example I can point to, but perhaps Garnt repeats what was just said to relay to the guest that he understood what was said correctly. It's a speaking technique called "parroting", and is actually very helping in understanding someone as well as building rapport with them.
All 3 of them are incredibly well skilled

This is one of my favorite episodes in a while. The fact that I don't know Sally before and she just clicks and vibes really well says a lot and I just love her energy.
I had a similar plan with Sally when I was young too. Life stops at 18.
but a few years after I encountered this Idol group that really made me happy, that's why I felt it so much when she said she's an Idol because she also wants to pay forward the happiness she felt when she watched Gintama.

I enjoyed this episode a lot! I have been pushing for more Sally during my business meetings with Sony Music Entertainment Japan and Aniplex years ago. But glad to see her more open with the social anxiety. There are more idols and musicians who also have it than people are aware of. And it was cool to see 22/7 evolve and watching them perform at AnimeJapan back in 2019. But also to see the overall growth of Sally through the years for appearances. But glad she had fun being part of Trash Taste! And that she was comfortable with the guys. All the best to everyone!

Honestly as a person with anxiety I can tell you half if not more of the people who have it have stories of just hiding it as best as possible because people are not as kind as they should be,

So true. I don’t understand people who are mean to people, because it can have a negative effect on the person and maybe even suicidal thoughts depending on what they are going through without that person knowing.
I had a very similar experience with Gintama. I was also at a point in my life where it felt like rock bottom and everything that could go wrong had. I had the same thought about living until a ceetain point if I had nothing else to do. But then I found Gintama. And I think that there was just something there about a dude who didnt really have a reason to live or a goal in mind and he is just fucking around with his friends. And as the series goes on it becomes very apparent that its not that he doesn't have anything to do with his life, its worth living because of the people that enrich it. It isnt usually people you might expect that end up being a big point in your life. It has its major ups and downs but in the end, its all worth it. And then I cought up to the end of the anime right when i moved away from home. And now a few years later, I saw the final movie in an empty theater surrounded by friends that I never thought I would have years prior. I looked back and realized that I'm not the same person as I once was and gintama, a dumb, stupid, funny, sad, and epic anime did something that nothing could before: it gave me hope.

So happy that we're finally getting some Gintama representation on Trash Taste! Sally seems like a really cool, positive person! Gintama really helped make my day-to-day life during the pandemic feel a lot more lax and light-hearted despite all the uncertainty regarding the future and all the horrible things happening around the world that I had grown accustomed to hearing about daily. To me, the entire show is a celebration of all the wacky, weird, inspirational, and emotional things that I love seeing in anime. Its ability to captivate my emotions by making me giggle, get hyped, and tear up all at once has made it occupy a special place in my heart. I couldn't recommend it enough!

Carol from "Tomo-chan wa Onnanoko!" is one of the first time I changed my opinion on an anime character. From "I hate this girl" the first time she appears to "omg she's so cute" and part of it was the voice performance. The moment she switch to english I had to know who VA Carol and ever since I've been looking forward on Sally's next role. Keep up the great work!
This is honestly one of the most fun episode of tt in a while! Sally has such a charisma and ahe blended in with the bois so well! I Couldn't stop smiling the whole time. I hope we see her in the trash taste universe again in the future because all of their chemistry is really fun imo
I’m starting to believe in Gintama effect. Much like Sally, I discovered Gintama in really dark moment in my life where waking every day was exhausting and nothing was bringing me joy. And by pure accident I stumbled upon Gintama and by like episode 10 I was laughing so much and felt happiness that I was missing for months. This series is so special and close to my heart, I’m so happy to hear it had a positive impact on someone’s else life ❤
Having Sally in Trash Taste is one of the proofs that we're still in the perfect timeline.

This is equal parts relatable, inspiring, funny and moving. So, so many good stories about Sally's life before and during 22/7. And every bit of talk about social anxiety and public speaking just reverberates so strongly.
I have so much respect for Sally. She’s so sweet and well-mannered, but also told her story about her wavering sense of identity as a kid, which is something I think lots of immigrant kids can relate to. I love her willingness to open up about her flaws but own them too ✊🏻

Yeah I was like "why do I feel like I've heard her voice before" and I saw Carol from Tomo-chan. But I was confused cause Carol sounds a little different than Sally's regular voice. Then I hopped on Overwatch whilst this was playing in the background and I was playing Kiriko and her voice lines overlapped with Sally and I was like "HANG ON A MINUTE".

As someone who's pursuing an acting career and has crippling anxiety. I could relate to her so much. I have friends as well who are actors and idol trainees and it's true, anxiety and depression happens to a lot of us. Not every actor or entertainer is an extrovert that can talk to anyone. Can't believe Sally is the same age as me, was lost and depressed at the same age as me, got into Gintama around the same time I did, found a new perspective on life after watching it AND got into Sugita radio and voice acting around the same time as I did. I've never related to someone as much as I did her in that moment. Sally, I usually dislike idolising human beings, but hearing someone go through such a similar thing to me, be the same age as me AND go through that around the same time as me has completely won me over.
My autoplay randomly played a 22/7 song back in 2017 and I got hooked. Then after YT noticed my interest in 22/7, it recommended a video on Sally's funny tweets and then the rabbit hole started. Love her youtube videos! Actually went to Japan and bought the first 22/7 album :)

And it was super wholesome when Saly said that she wants to be a guest on Trash Taste forever! Props to the boys for helping Sally feel comfortable to enjoy talking with them on a two hour podcast. Respecting and being empathetic to your guest's anxieties goes a long way!
Sally talks so much about her anxiety and such, but she never lets it stop her from doing what she wants. She finds ways around it if she has to, but plows through. Very admirable.

I first stumbled upon her from the clips of her memeing in English during her idol live chats, and it's so amazing to see what she's accomplished since then. She is so entertaining and is also such a huge inspiration. Great episode.

Loved this episode so much! Sally's sense of humor and life experiences are gold. I really resonated with her struggle with social anxiety and fear of public speaking. Shes actually pretty inspiring!
