Moza Racing CS Steering Wheel Review - The Best Cheap Add On Wheel Ever?

- Moza Racing came onto the scene with some High End Sim Racing Gear. Since that time they have been expanding their lineup into the starter Direct Drive Wheel market. The CS Steering Wheel is the more affordable ad on steering wheel that fits the Moza Eco system and is compatible with all of their bases.
In this video we cover all of the features of this new wheel rim from Moza including hammering on it out on track. Can this affordable wheel handle the heavy duty rigors of Sim Racing? We test it on a 16 Newton meter base, The Moza R16 to find out.

How do these videos get so few views? The quality and in depth information is absolutely great! Looking forward to getting the wheel in a couple of weeks. :D
Moza seems like the kind of company that will get it "right" very quickly. Notice how agile they've been at responding to criticism so far.
Seems to be a pretty good wheel for the price. My only (admittedly minor) gripe is that I wish they didn't print the button labels on the wheel itself. I'd prefer a clean look with no words. Then if you decide that you do want to place stickers on it, it wouldn't look so sloppy from trying to cover up the existing text with the text from the new labels.
looks like a great new offering to the MOZA ecosystem.
Been waiting for this from Moza, looks really good
FYI that Moza is great about hearing feedback and making adjustments quickly. I wouldn't be surprised if that stripe is fixed and centered very soon if not already.
Sorry, I haven't watched all the videos, can you please tell me about which band you are talking about? I will be grateful if you answer
@@give7257 White ring on top of the wheel. So just a small visual thing.
Great review! Thank you!
Great review Shaun. Looks like amazing value for money.
Thanks!
Nice opening to the video Shaun!
Thanks!
Great video
I bought this for my R5 bundle to replace my es wheel that is getting the formula mod im blown away at how good it is is literally all metal and forged carbon anatecs equivalent wheel the club sport rs cost $100 more this is such a value and i love it for drifting it being bigger makes a massive difference i can be more precise and again im blown away with the build is way way better than my es wheel and it absolutely curb some my logitech setup
Man ill eventually get the RS wheel and the GS they are so so nice
Nice video Shaun. Since you have both the Simagic and the Moza there could you try putting the Simagic wheel on the Moza Base and Moza wheel on Simagic base? I know you said it was a proprietary wheel but I wonder if anyone has even tried this. They have the same QR so maybe?
I wouldn't do that as the power hookup doesn't match and you might short something.
Unfortunately you can change wheels between the 2 company wheels since they are built differently.
Great vid thanks! oh and what rig is your wheel base mounted to?
It's mounted to the Rseat RS1
Awesome wheel. I have the GS, but wondering if the CS much heavier than the RS wheel?
Cierto, falta el pesarlo,y medir el plate, para ver si se puede poner un aro de 300mm,tengo un OSP trecento y si cabe lo compraria, los aros de mas de 310mm ya son grandes y pesados para Simracing...
Is the quick release the same size as an NRG one?
I would want to use my real rims with it using replica QRs without the need to get a preparatory Moza adapter.
Well that settles it, just ordered an r9 and this wheel to replace my g29
You won't be disappointed😁
tyvm for a indept review, by anychance u gor the new petal system to review??,,
i am currently waiting till local resllers have these to buy em
That will be the next review released and currently waiting on. It will be out soon
@@TheSimpit ty for the heads up and the great attention to detail for ur reviews 👌👌
Do you know about some 300mm round wheel rim that would fit it? It is frequently mentioned in reviews that 320mm is a bit too big.
So replace the wheel rim and keep the button box
Great! They need now a cheaper formula type wheel and also a less expensive pedals to make a more logical set with the 9Nm base
They do have a cheaper pedal set. We just finished filming the review and will be out soon.
@@TheSimpit Great! I'm waiting for that review! Thanks for the answer!
Is it the standard 6 bolt pattern? So could I remove the actual wheel and replace with another with the 6 bolt pattern and keep the buttons?
It is the standard pattern, you should be able to run whatever wheel rim you want.
For wheelbase R12 and only looking at force fedback feeling would you recommend round wheel CS ( a bit heavy ) or ES with 12" round wheel mode ( lighter than CS ) ?
A lighter wheel will always have better response at the moment of inertia, giving you better road feel. But it also depends on what you like to race. A smaller wheel is better for open wheelers, while a larger wheel works for GT and oval cars.
@@TheSimpit Thank you for reply :)
also, i have a couriosity, if i'm not asking too much... what is the wheight of the steering wheel and also of each piece separately(quick release, button box and wheel)? you said that it seems to be heavy and from what i now it's good to have a lighter wheel... Thank you!
Ditto...I'd also be interested in knowing at least what the total overall weight is.
The full wheel is about 5.2lbs. The wheel itself doesn't weight much at all.
@@TheSimpit Thanks for the info. For comparison's sake, I looked at the listed weight of the Fanatec R330 with Clubsport Universal Hub v2 and the metal Clubsport QR, which to me would be closest in size and functionality to this Moza wheel, though it's about $100 more expensive.
The Fanatec combo weighs in at a listed 1860g, or about 4.1 lbs. At over 5 lbs, it would seem to me that the Moza is a bit of a porker. Not sure how much discernable difference in feel there would be in a back-to-back test between the two, but a full pound is not insignificant considering the inertia involved and is probably something at least worth considering.
@@TheSimpit Thank you very much!🙏
Too bad that all these recent sim racing companies didn't use all the same power and wireless systems so you could have more options but I can understand why they haven't.
On my wheel its blinking Pink all the time even in a game like BeamNG its still blinking how come?
That moza logo is not a decal its etched into the wheel just like on there bases
Hello, please model o name of chasis orange??
It's the Rseat P1 orange
You can make your own stickers...
Oh ok your showing v1 not the v2 that i have lol
NRG is far superior to Fanatec's hub!
Not gonna be gaming late at night with the wife sleeping with this setup... did you hear the paddle shifters and the quick release? Sounded like someone installing plumbing in the kitchen, lol. Also, not a good sign when they ship out wheels for review that don't even have centered wheel stripes. For $300 you would expect much better attention to detail to something so obvious.
i only came here coz that Ameer guy told me to 🧟♂
Damn right I told you!
This is just a message to let you know the MOZA Racing is a total nightmare if you have any issues with their products. I bought an R9 base and a Formula one wheel and both of these products came with an important number of issues. After weeks of talking to their support, which it is deplorable, I'm probably force to re-start the dispute with the help of my bank in order to get part of the money they want to keep.
You really don't want to deal with people like this.
They are just doing whatever the want and deciding what to pay me back. I'm looking for the possibility of putting a legal complaint agains this company. Will be talking to my bank and will be looking to my rights on this situation to make sure I do what I can to get the full reimbursement of my initial order which they informed me is not going to be the case.
So please, in order to save you from getting into this hell, stay away from this company. If anyone wants to get more details or even have a call with me I will be more than happy to explain the full story I'm going through with this organization.
The really loud paddle shifters are a deal breaker. That would drive me nuts
The new wheels come with silencing pads. Moza listened to feedback and started providing those.
